Are You Ready?

I see Matthew 24:29-30 as the second coming not the rapture.
Surely not! Please pray and examine the context the chapter holds because Jesus clearly marks this event as before the Catching Away of the Bride and the Second coming is not until the Great Tribulation has passed.

But please, this is a discussion of what scriptures has recorded and I have used the scripture to make my point, avoiding, as much as I can, my opinion. I do not mean to be rude but the truth is that neither my nor your opinions matter. What God has recorded is the living, self interpreting word and I cannot see where you might support you view with scripture.

But please make this rabbit trail quick because the subject and context are expressed in the title and the last sentence. And, honestly, the question is not about the Rapture. We must first endure to arrive there.

I don't believe in a trib. I wonder how many jews in America that depending on the source one uses outnumber, or are equal to the numbers in Israel would be saved if jesus returned per futurism. I hold close to partial preterism. be ready at any time. you might die this second.
Jason, the subject was never about the Catching Away. The question can be viewed as rhetorical but it shouldn't be.

Yes,I see the tribulation and then the second coming but I do not interpret the Matthew verse as you do.
The rapture will be secret and instant 1 Corinthians 15:50-54.The second coming will be visible to all Revelation 1:7;Matthew 24:29-30.
You can interpret it as you will. This is how I see it.

Okay, so we agree to disagree and go back to the subject. Are you ready for the persecution that precedes the Rapture? Are you ready to be tortured to death to testify to the lost of this world.

How ever... when ever....we believe He will return Are we in right standing with Him? I think is the question Bill is asking

Explain that to me taylor. What is that persecution?People have been persecuted ever since Adam and Eve.And if you could see my life I have had my share of persecution.

Indeed Reba. I was very upset with my country in the '90s about our lack of support to the Sudanese Christians and was dumbfounded to see God's message of the Churches persecution producing such Church growth as we witnessed there. And now there are better than twenty thousand a day, it has been reported being saved every day in the Orient in spite of the imprisoning and slaughtering of the faithful. I fear when that catches this continent there will be a falling away, just as Jesus said it would be.

Hello Agua,
The issue is far to many are not ready for either circumstance.

I agree Bill which is probably why judgment starts with the House of God.

1Pe 4:17-19 KJV For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (18) And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (19) Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

We have a lot to "learn" by hook or by crook.

Yes, there are many Stiff Necked calling themselves Christian.

even with out the op on the rapture, I don't buy any tribulation that is coming with a seven year duration. the seven year period that culminated in defeat for isreal has been passed.

Then you might want to start a thread in one of the debate forums to toss that around but I'm not going to engage you in hijacking this thread, even though it is mine and the mods would likely not say much if I went along.

Sorry my man, not here.

I use to be a pretrib person as I followed all those pretrib teachings taking them at face value, but not anymore as Christ said that those who endure until the end are those who will be saved. The end of what means the end of all abominations that cause desolation in our lives as in all the tribulations listed in Matthew 24:1-31 as they increase daily, but the end is not yet until that of vs.29-31 which happens right after that of Rev 11:11-18 up to Rev 14:14-20 and when all things are finished then that of the New heaven and New Jerusalem will be ushered down and we will be with the Lord forever.

Rev_18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

I see alot of this.Prideful, haughty attitudes among those who call themselves Christians. That is a good question. Why?They must know what God has to say about this.

You are a great illustration of why I never debate, these days, the timing. I'm in for the whole deal no matter the timing. If I'm obsessed with my cute self I just grin ;-) and tell them, I'll wave at you as we both lift off to meet Him. The case for all three of the realistic ideas can. clearly, be made from the scriptures, so why7 fight about it?

What is the solution to this problem Bill ( if there is one ). What do you recommend ?
It irks a lot of Religious people but I just try to remember that when I go to worship, I'm either seated in or I'm looking out at my Mission Field for today. That is what I see God has called every one o us to, not just pastor, every one of the Saved are called to this mission.

They either do or they are learning it if they are seated under a man of God but you see, people have taken great exception to the truth that it has only been, almost two days since Jesus died on the cross. The scripture about a thousand years being as a day, unto the LORD is ignored.

I don't get ya Bill ?
