Attention Athiest and non-Christians

I understand that there are some athiest and non-Christians in this board.

I am wondering why you are here.

I would like to guess: Is it maybe you are interested or curious in Christianity?

I would like to brag about Jesus' teachings.

Jesus' teachings are the most noble teachings that no other religions can compete.

His utmost noblest teachings are seen in His command: "love your enemy".

If you are seeking utmost noble teaching and you would like to have one: Jesus is it!

Maybe some of you athiests are looking for answers. I have witnessed to athiests in the past, and was not overly successful, although I hope I at least planted a seed (the seed God gave me).

Most people seem to judge Christianity without really knowing about it. I ask that some of you find a New Testament and read the Gospels, and find out what it is all about. If you still reject it, as you may, that is that. But I am hoping that some athiests will read it and maybe see the truth in it.

I would like to add that once you read the New Testament thoroghly, you will find out why He is Son of God and Savior of the world!

You will find the powerful testimony of Jesus in the New Testament!

I became a believer after reading the Gospel of Matthew, I picked up the Bible so I could argue with Christians. God sure showed me!

Hello?

May I have some response from athiests or non-believers?

It is lonly here. :sad

We are here to help you keep the wagons circled. Without people like us this board would become very boring don't you think? We also help you minister to the unsaved. Not only that we make it easy for you. You don't have to go out and look for the unsaved we come to you. You should be thanking us.

Actually no. Been there done that sort of thing.

I would like to brag about Jesus' teachings.
Feel free.

On the contrary Jesus brings nothing new to the table on noble and moral teachings. Hammurabies Code for one and there were other disiplines before Jesus and Christianity that advocated much of what you learn from the bible and Jesus.

His utmost noblest teachings are seen in His command: "love your enemy".

If you are seeking utmost noble teaching and you would like to have one: Jesus is it!
Since we all agree on living well and respecting our fellow man do we still need a book to fall back on? Just do it. You might be interested in this essay about a man who really lived.

Thank you rezn, :D

You mean you were once Christian? If so for how long? And why did you quit following Him?

It has to be something which draws someone like reznwerks (Joined: 19 Dec 2003, Posts: 2310) here. Over two years and thousands of posts!

It is really ironic. He is an atheist. He argues that Christians are wrong and that there is no God..... yet he WASTES years of his life and thousands of posts trying to change Christian's thinking..... it does not make sense when you believe (like he does) that this life is all there is.

Why waste time here?

It sounds to me that your perception of atheists is that we don't know anybetter and are only vaguely familiar with Christianity and other religions. I can assure you that the majority of atheists and non believers are more versed on the bible and it's teachings that those that preach the word everyday. I for one have read the bible a lot more than once and I am sure if you ask most atheists they have also. Many of the founding fathers were far more familiar with the bible and especially the N/T and that is why conciously they rejected it preferring to become Deists. Have you ever read "The Age of Reason" by Thomas Paine. It is here and pretty much reflects the thinking of non- believers and why they think the way they do.

I thought so when I was a non-believer until 7 years ago.

Since I started study Jesus and His teachings, I started be much effective in being kind and loving to others. I thought I was decent, good person and mother and good neighbor to everyone around. Somehow Jesus' teachings are so perfect and showed me how I am doing wrong and can be much better.

You never find out powerful teachings of Jesus' unless you strive to follow Him everything what He teaches.

rezn,

I was non-believer for a long time myself. I am not so young. So I was thinking maybe you are rejecting christianity because you have seen many ungodly Christians. Am I wrong?

yep

You mean you were once Christian?
Sure was. One term deacon, two term elder, president of the nominating committee for a new pastor , served on the building and grounds committe as well, taught sunday school for one semester.

If so for how long?
Baptized a Catholic changed to Presbyterianism when I got married at 24.
And why did you quit following Him?
Probably about 5 years ago I was debating another Christian over life after death issues and what the bible says. The more I searched the more I discovered the errors and contradictions in the bible. I then began to question what I thought was true and then looked at atheist and freethinker sites. Then quite literally it hit me like a bolt of lightening. Seriously it was like getting slapped up the side of the head. I realized that what I thought was true was not. I will never forget it as it was like waking up from a foggy dream. You might call it a religious experience everything just seemed so clear.

now, rezn, while atheists and whatnot do make the board interesting, it wouldnt be boring. they have plenty of catholics to keep them occupied!

Lets just say it's a calling.

For me this is entertainment. I love debating and what better subject than that which deals with the most important matter of life and death. I could be watching TV, shopping or whatever. As for wasting my time I do all this posting despite the fact I work full time and run a part time business besides.

Why waste time here?
If you are wrong then you are wasting your time.

No I haven't rejected Christianity because of ungodly Christians. In fact I admire many Christians I have met. My father in law is a devout Christian and as far as I am concerned he ranks in my top ten most admired people that I know of personally or have read about. There are quite a few in the church that I belonged to that I am forever indebted to for helping me out personally in getting a job. I don't reject the moral teachings of Jesus but realize they are nothing new. I do reject all religions that claim divine inspiration since none of them have any evidence to the claims they make.

Are they done working on RT 222?

rezn,

I dont have capability to research everything many people are doing about the facts of religions.

I believe Jesus and what He is claiming in the New Testament becasue I tested His teachings. More I obey more my family and my lives become better and better evey aspect of our lives. Jesus also gave us happy family we never had. This is what Jesus calls fruit.

No, we are not rich, but our lives are so meaningful and productive for others. We have meaningful lives because of His teachings. Because of this evidence I dont care if we get eternal life or everthing else what Jesus says we will recieve. We are just greately thankful for His teachings. We don't feel His teachings are burden. His teachings are blessings. He changes our way of thinking.
