Beyond ‘Don’t Ask; Don’t Tell’
Issue Date: May/June 2013

Even before the President cleared open homosexuals in the military, Congressman Randy Forbes claims he has been “monitoring a steady stream of religious discrimination complaints over the past four years from Christian soldiers.†Forbes says that the soldiers are telling him: “We’re afraid of going to church, we’re afraid to be seen praying, we’re afraid that would hurt our careers, our promotions.†Other disturbing developments were cited:

Commanders barred from disclosing any programs that are tied to the Chaplaincy or any programs involving religion;

A Navy directive that banned Bibles at Walter Reed Hospital;

An Army Reserve training program that listed Evangelical Christians and Catholics as examples of religious extremism;

An Army email that listed prominent Christian ministries like the Family Research Council and American Family Association as “domestic hate groups.â€

As on a global scale, homosexual activists take an inch and then reach for a mile.

The Devil has been trying to pin the label “hate†on Bible believers for a long time. Preachers and publishers who tried to warn of Roman Catholicism’s pagan, unbiblical teachings of a wafer god, Virgin Mary goddess, and purgatory have been called hate mongers for decades. Anyone who spoke against “Christian unity†(ecumenism) was “dividing the brethren.â€

Now, with the rising concern about “domestic terrorism,†there is a concerted effort to paint biblical “literalists†as “angry fundamentalists.†The 14-page Army email mentioned above, documented groups the military considers to be anti-gay, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim. Among the other groups mentioned are Neo-Nazis, Racist Skinheads, White Nationalists and the Ku Klux Klan.

The email accused the “Christian Right†of “engaging in the crudest type of name-calling, describing LGBT people as ‘perverts†with ‘filthy habits’ who seek to snatch the children of straight parents and ‘convert’ them to gay sex,†he wrote. In a way —guilty as charged.

God calls homosexual behavior an “abomination†that truly “perverts†the “normal use of the woman.†(See Lev. 18:22 and Romans 1.) Homosexual sex involves practices that are grossly unclean. And the laws that require glorification of homosexuality in the schools, such as Harvey Milk Day in California, seems to be specifically designed to “convert [the students] to gay sex.â€

The hate campaign against Christian organizations is becoming more dangerous. A few weeks ago a gunman showed up at the offices of the Family Research Council intent on killing as many as he could. Fortunately, he was immediately confronted by a security guard who was shot but managed to disarm the intruder, Floyd Corkins II. In a plea bargain, Corkins admitted he had gained inspiration for his plot from the web site of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights advocacy group that had also listed the FRC in its list of “hate†groups.

The email also warned military leaders to look out for anyone that did not appear to have “army values.†“When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values —don’t just walk by— do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.†Given the concerns of the soldiers who have contacted Congressman Forbes, it appears that “army values†are no longer what they once were.

Unfortunately, it is not just “army values†that have eroded. The biblical values that our forefathers revered and that made us the most blessed nation in history are being systematically removed from all parts of our culture: schools, media, government, and homes.

The only hope is a return to the righteousness that will again exalt us from the reproach of our sin. (Prov. 14:34) Most revivals in history have been sparked by a saturation of the culture with no-nonsense gospel tracts.

Soul winners, we need to get busy.

uhm the email thing there. can we start with that?i can verify or debunk a lot of this since I am member of the armed forces.

uhm, all I know for know is that I can still read my bible when Im not working, done it at annual training, discuss the bible openly. did that last drill and if it was a hate group thing as army policy. then I would be the first to be told and also would be briefed. and also likely reported.i will look at the link later.

Issue Date: May/June 2013

It is a common christian affliction to deride and rant about the sins of the other people, but never ever look at our own.

It's also part of 'end time' dishonesty. People like the Westboro Baptist church members deriding gays and saying our military dead deserve to die when the fact is they are darker haters than anybody on the planet earth, not to mention ripe hypocrites.

I get sick of christian hypocrisy, FAST.

And in case anyone missed it, religious hypocrisy was also Jesus' PET PEEVE.

s

How did hypocrisy take center stage.. this is about trying to take God out of the picture. Moving on, this piece from The Jerusalem Post made me want to gag. Gay Pride? In the land where the law was written Gods people displaying acts of abomination for all the world to see.. It is written..

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Well Jason I'm thinking we'll be arrested before too long we can't navigate through the streets of a city without brushing shoulders with a sodomite, one word will be all it takes to set off the ACLU. If it hasn't been enacted yet it soon will be, legislation will make it a felony hate crime to use scripture when explaining salvation.. Lot must have been really been in a dither..

The true battle is when God destroys this world with all the flesh of man. The flesh contained the enemy (Lucifer) of God.

Revelation 21
1: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for thefirst heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
8: But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, theirlot shall be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the seconddeath."

Isaiah 66
15: "For behold, the LORDwill come in fire, and his chariots like the stormwind, to render hisanger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16: For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and byhis sword, upon all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many.

actually I don't think so, when the Hebrew children left Egypt. it was also chock full of pedastery(google it) and sodomy that is why the torah mentions fornatication, adultery, and also sodomy. in the days of the early church, Greece and rome were very much like that too.

Gunpowder and Your KJV Bible
Issue Date: May/June 2013

While the U.S. has its Fourth of July, complete with fireworks and revelry, England also has November 5 and it appears their celebration outdoes ours. All over the country “bonfire societies†field multiple parades complete with massive firework displays. One example in the news recently was a small town of 16,000 called Lewes, which hosts some 60,000 visitors who joined the festivities.

So, what is so special about November 5? It’s Guy Fawkes Day!

Those who know the history of the holiday, know the significance of the “gunpowder plot†that got Fawkes and some of his buddies executed. But, if Fawkes had succeeded in igniting the fuse to 36 barrels of gunpowder, you and I might have a very different Bible to read today.

The year was 1605, just 6 years before the publication of the King James Bible that became the standard English scriptures for some 400 years. King James had been petitioned by the Puritans to authorize the translation of a “new and completely accurate†English Bible. He immediately commissioned over 50 scholars from Oxford and Cambridge to begin the work. The men chosen were the most learned of their day not only in linguistics but biblical theology. Many of them were fluent in up to 14 languages.

All this was happening in the middle of a pitched battle between the leaders of the Reformation and the Vatican. And the Bible was the prize in that war. For over 100 years the Reformers had fought to print the Bible in the language of the people. The Vatican had commissioned the Jesuits and the Dominicans with the task of destroying those Bibles. Politics had become one of the battlefields with the rulers of England alternating between Protestant and Catholic.

At this point, King James was Protestant and almost literally had a bull’s eye on his back. Jesuit agents cooked the “gunpowder plot†to tunnel under the Parliament building and set off a massive explosive while it was in session. Their hope was to kill King James and as many of the Members of Parliament as possible.

Guy Fawkes was enlisted by the pope to carry out the plan. He and about half-a-dozen other men started the tunnel and eventually positioned 36 barrels of gunpowder in place. In their attempt to carry out their plan, they met one problem after another so that, looking back, the Lord was surely toying with their little plan. During the digging, they hit an unexpected wall underground. But a cellar was discovered that gave them the required access. Next, Parliament delayed meeting for several months and the powder got wet and had to be replaced. Finally one of the men wrote a letter warning a Catholic friend to stay away from the building on a certain date. The letter ended up in the hands of the king who discovered the scheme just hours before the targeted meeting.

November 5 was legislated a national day of thanksgiving for deliverance from “papists.†Today, it is celebrated as a fun festival with few recognizing the continued dangers of Roman Catholicism. But had the pope not lost that battle, you and I might be reading a Roman Catholic Bible, if we were even allowed to possess one.

The Certainty Of Persecution
by Henry Morris, Ph.D.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution†(II Timothy 3:12).

This sobering prediction is placed in the context of the “last days†when “perilous times shall come†and “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived†(II Timothy 3:1,13). All who determine to live a godly life in Christ are going to be persecuted.

This should not come as a surprise, for Jesus had said: “The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you†(John 15:20). “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake†(Philippians 1:29).

In some places and times, this persecution may be physical suffering, even involving imprisonment or death. More often, however, it is more subtle—rejection and ridicule, job discrimination, slander, social discrimination, family and peer pressures, legal restrictions, and other means of rejecting the gospel and those who teach it. The Greek word, dioko, basically means to “pursueâ€â€”that is, to keep following after the one whose witness is objectionable until, by whatever means may be necessary, it is stopped.

One possible way, therefore, to avoid persecution is to stop giving a clear witness. It is those who insist on living a godly life and giving a godly witness who will suffer persecution. But such compromises, like Peter, deny the Lord. Instead, we should follow Moses, “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season†(Hebrews 11:25).

Paul finished his course in martyrdom, but he had kept the faith until the end (II Timothy 4:7). “For our light affliction,†he said, “which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory†(II Corinthians 4:17). HMM

In Eritrea, ‘persecution greater than ever and getting worse’

Published: May 30, 2013

Around 1,200 Christians now incarcerated after a spate of arrests in 2013

Religious persecution in Eritrea is at its “highest level ever and getting worseâ€, an Eritrean Christian leader, who cannot be named for security reasons, has told the Christian charity Open Doors International.
Thirty-seven Christian students from the College of Arts and Social Sciences in the town of Adi Kihe, and five men from the Church of the Living God in Asmara, were arrested last week, taking the total number of Christians known to have been arrested this year to 191.

Open Doors, a ministry to Christians who live under pressure because of their faith, estimates around 1,200 Christians are now incarcerated in Eritrea. However, some estimates claim the figure to be as high as 3,000.

Churches in Eritrea have been monitored closely since May 2002, when the government closed all Protestant and Pentecostal churches which did not apply for registration with the department of Religious affairs.

Christian Cursing

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." (Mat. 12:36-37)

"In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you." (Titus 2:7-8)

According to these verses of Scripture, we, as Christians, need to be very careful with our mouths because we will one day give account to God. Most Christians are aware of the fact that God expects them to live holy lives. Likewise, most God-fearing Christians have learned to abstain from swearing and from the use of common profanity. I haven't met many faithful Christians who have a problem with worldly cursing. However, I have met MANY Christians who have stumbled into the Devil's trap and taken up a whole different kind of cursing. Keep reading, friend, because you just might need to "tune up" your vocabulary!

Are You Taking God's Name in Vain?

You say, "Well, my word! I wouldn't take God's name in vain!" You just did! John 1:1 says that "the Word" was GOD! Satan tricked you, didn't he? You need to CONFESS to God that you've been taking His name in vain, and you need to REPENT of this sin!

"Well, my goodness!", you say. If you are saved then your "goodness" is none other than God Himself (Psalm 144:2). You just took His name in vain again. You have no goodness of your own (Isa. 64:6; Rom. 3:23; Psa. 39:5), so "my goodness" is a reference to God!

"Good grief! I had no idea!" There you go again! Jesus Christ was a man of sorrows and acquainted with GRIEF (Isa. 53:3). His grief was "good" grief because He bore your sins. You should show more reverence and respect for your Saviour and quit throwing God's word around too loosely.

"For crying out loud! Can't I say anything?" How about reading your Bible for a change?! Matthew 27:46 says that when your Saviour was suffering on the cross He "cried with a loud voice." What's your logic in using such speech? Could it be that Satan is just having a good laugh at your ignorance and disrespect of God's word?

"Well, geeeeeeee!" Did you say "G", as in "GOD"? Yes, you certainly did! You've also said "Gosh" and "Good Golly"! You've also said "Jeepers Creepers" when you really wanted to say "Jesus Christ" (JC!). You've also played around with the letters "G" and "D" together. You said "dad gum" and "dog gone" when you really wanted to say "God" and then follow with the word "damn". Think about it, Christian! Is God pleased with this kind of speech?

Those Four-Letter Words!

You probably wouldn't think of using the word "damn" too loosely, but what about "darn" and "dang"? Do they not serve the same purpose? Is Satan not pleased to fill your mouth with such speech?

"Why, heck!" Look out there! God knows your heart, and he knows you really wanted to say "hell".

Down south folks say, "Ah, shoot!" This is nothing more than a cheap way of saying "s " Again I ask, is God pleased with this sort of speech? Is this "sound speech, that cannot be condemned"? I think not!

Swear Not!

"But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." (Mat. 5:34-37)

Jesus said "swear not," yet God's people swear all the time! Such expressions as "for Heaven's sake", "for Pete's sake", and "Heavens to Betsy" are attempts to swear by Bible subjects, which shows disrespect toward God. God's word is PURE and HOLY! We should HONOR His words, not throw them around like a dirty dish rag!

Truth Is All the Authority You Need

Why do people curse and swear? There's only one reason: authority. People want to sound forceful and authoritative when they speak, so they spice their speech up with all sorts of catchy little "power words". Unfortunately, such words often dishonor God, the Bible, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Friend, TRUTH is all of the authority you need. Just speak the truth as it is revealed in God's word and you'll have no use for "Christian cursing".

Remember: "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Mat. 12:36)

tob

Another big common LIE going around is that you can't bring your Bible to school. That is an outright lie put out by certain Christian groups. Every student i've talked to says they openly talk about the bible and read their bibles daily at school WITHOUT any trouble from others.

While I'm waiting for an answer from Destructus86 I'd like to ask another question. Is or does the Mark Of Beast/Antichrist coming before or after the rapture?

Thanks in advance..
