1. I wonder what the chances are that a member here is a celebrity. I wouldn't call being in a garage band making one a "celebrity", so I'm thinking famous beyond your own small community. You think there are some here? I would guess not.
2. There are no Christian celebrities. There are Christians who used to be celebrities before the industry suffocated their careers. Hollywood loves 'em some liberal, anti-Christian rhetoric spewing tree huggers. Look at one of the hit shows "30 Rock" led by Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. She said Palin was more dangerous to America than the terrorists, and Baldwin once swore he'd leave the country if W was elected; both on Letterman. Now they've added Matt Damon for a few shows who went abroad to Muslim nations openly cursing the US foreign policy. I think in order to get a spot on the show, you have to have made yourself look like an idiot at some point. Okay, there are a few Christian ones. Robert Duvall is said to be Christian, but I've seen him in some pretty objectionable movies with objectionable content. I'm not judging his faith, but I'm saying the industry doesn't make it easy on them.
Okay, rant over. I imagine it's hard to be a celebrity when they are in public, but people who are so obsessed with being famous don't get much pity from me. It's got to be hard in public at home and at the studios for Christian celebrities. Hopefully (for their sake), they're doing what they do to glorify the Lord (I'm pretty sure Kirk Cameron does) and not themselves and their egos. That Kirk got his only legitimate gig from a Christian Church for "Fireproof" is an example of his "scarlet letter" with the industry. :bigfrown
Okay, now rant really over!!! :D
