Being lucky

Member
Some strictly reject the idea that there's such thing as luck in Christianity. I have heard people say this - Christians.

It may be normal for an unbeliever to claim: I was lucky! I am a lucky person!
I can't do it - I need luck!!!
Should we talk about: "luck"?
Should we at times rely upon it?
What do you think about this? (For Christians, I mean)

Thanks:)

We are to depend on the Lord . Luck has nothing to do with depending on Him.

You and your 'see what i can stir up threads'! :)

i used to believe in luck...but when i became a christian i am convinced that everything happens for a reason...God's reason i believe:chin

If I'm playing Uno with the family, I have no problem calling it luck when someone draws 4 wild cards. But I don't see it in "life". I wince when I hear someone say, "Good luck!", and I never send someone off with that message. I happen to believe our God is intimately involved in the lives of His Created. If He cares enough to see to the needs of birds and lilies, I'm comfortably confident that He is very involved in my coming and goings.

Proverbs 16:33 "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord."

My dad used to tell us to say "fortunate" instead of "lucky"...but then I guess they mean pretty much the same thing.

Although I do have a habit of saying "good luck", I don't mean it literally.

Luck is nothing more than doubt and doubt only comes from unbelief and unbelief comes from Satan stealing the word of God from you. All of Gods promises are yea and amen and God knows how to give us His best in His timing which is made perfect in us as he blesses our going in's and going out's.

A better way of saying "I'm lucky" is to say, "I'm blessed".
Saying "I'm not lucky, I'm blessed".
This opens a door to share the gospel with someone.
