Benny Hinn

Amen on that Lee.... BTW glad to see you here brother.

My point is, that it was also stated that if a [prophet] of God doesn't speak the Truth of God's Word 100% in a prophecy, than they're not of God. That's true! Pastor's/Deacon's/Evangelist's/Bishop's...no one has the full knowledge of God's Word a 100%. That's why we ask to have hot coals put on our tongue, and/or not speak at all when unsure, and/or state you're unsure. We could live a 1000 years reading HIS Holy Word everyday, and still not have it 100% right.

Look at the disciples....everyone of them somewhere got it wrong. Look at Peter, he denied Christ three times, look at Thomas who doubted, look at Paul who murdered christians by the 1000's before God knock him off his donkey/high horse....etc. etc. they all at one time or another failed. Did Christ kick them to the curb cause thy didn't have it a 100% right? No....they're were still HIS disciples. They argued among themselves, argued with Christ about the value of oil....But Christ prevailed in Victory. And Christ will prevail again in victory taking care of HIS wrongful children without our help. Standing in HIS Truth is the best living example to pull those away from the ones who speak lies.

Instead of worrying about what he is doing or not doing for God why don't you focus on what you are doing for the Kingdom and God. Live to glorify him. Knocking other people and trying to get them not to listen to someone isn't. IMO.

I want to be the person when I get to heaven Jesus look at me and tell me you made me happier everyday. You pleased me. You lived for me and not man. Good job daughter I love you. You did an amazing job and I was always able to count on you to do what I called you to do.

I was like that with some television people at first about how I didn't care for some people and didn't like their teachings, but then as I started to look around there was always something I didn't like about someone even my own pastors. So me and my husband sat and talked, then we fasted and asked God to guide us. Then that is when my husband said if we stay at our church are you prepared for people to call our pastors false teachers, and prophets, are you prepared to stand with him and behind him because you know his teachings are right . I said yes and 2 years later we are still there and have so much better life and walk with Christ because of it. There will always be false teachers and prophets. People just don't want to believe that things can happen.

He may not be prophesying very well but the healings he does are amazing. Think of all the people that can walk and have lived lives longer than anyone every imagined because God is using him and he allows him to.

Hi there! There is a couple of problems with the above.

Many, many of his healings have been deemed false. Someone in a previous post mentioned that. People who thought to been healed have serious setbacks because of this. I remember one documented case where a man who had bad eyesight and wore heavy corrective glasses thought he was healed. Benny also stepped on the man's glasses while on stage. The man went home afterward and as he entered into his home and proceeded to walk into the house. He tripped on an end table, fell and broke his hip. The elderly and broken hips are a very bad combination.

:sad

Another documented case showed how he cheated people into believing he knew things about them he normally couldn't have known. What they did was hand out index card questionnaires for people to fill out. Basic info like name, place of residence, place of birth, etc. As the people were seated, their seat and row position was discretely recorded on these cards.

Benny later on pointed to people in the audience (yes, audience) seemingly in no particular order. What was really happening was someone was talking to him via a mike and earpiece, feeding Benny info on the person he chose from the audience.

:mad

These sort of people are fleecing and manipulating the children of God and apparently manipulating the separation clause in our First Amendment too!

:screwloose

Point two:

Question: Are prophets and apostles valid now?

Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Answer: Unless God is still building the foundation of HIS ekklesia, the answer is...no!

------------------------------------------------------
Yes, we all must work out our own salvation but we are also responsible for pointing out the many fallacies that seep into Christianity. It's Biblical; we are told to do so:

1 Cor 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1 Cor 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
1 Cor 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
1 Cor 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

We should be concerned that God may question us as to why we sat back and did nothing to expose the false teachings that have infiltrated Christianity.

What He said she said business? There is solid proof. Mister Benny Hinn is seen and heard blaspheming and spouting false prophecy. And I don't deal with he said she said stories if I can help it.

And Ronnie there's alot out there that isn't true, along with the truth of them....a truth they themselves created for their character they must live under, as we all do about ourselves. Internet/television and newspapers have the technology/skills to take things out of context, and allow you to view what they want you to view....it's done everyday resulting in lawsuits. Like the Lord stated: Ye without sin, cast the first stone.

That's why I firmly believe and stated......it's like eating fish. Eat the meat [truth]....and spit out the bones [false doctrine/prophecy].....throw out the remains, so they don't stink up your home/self....[by pulling the specks out of others eyes, while planks [that started out specks] are still in our own eyes]....fermenting.

Read/study the Bible/Truth, work on our own salvation with Christ, test the spirits by using our God given gifts, stay/stand firm loyal/faithful to the Trinity....for God alone will judge them for the preverseness against HIM, and HIS Truth. But before I throw someone else under the bus, I strongly live by what God instructed us to do.....Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm. 1 Chronicles 16:22 And unless I've witness the conversation in person to where I know it as absolute truth, then I throw out the remains so not to stink up my own spirit with judgements....that could have possibly already been forgiven by Christ .[/quote:3jglopf6]

Oh, you're right. I tend to be too lighthearted at times. It's how I manage to deal with the craziness of this world.

Sorry if I offended but I do take this very serious as these people will spend eternity in Hell. I think taking things too lightly is a major problem in US churches today. I know that God take this very serious, shouldn't we?

You didn't offend me mate...

The sad part of BH, is when I found out he was the richest evangelist in America according to Forbes, I think it was in 2002.

He made that money in 1999 with the Y2K scare, he told people to sell the belongnings and send him the money or else the end of the world would come upon them or something like that.

I fear for him and pray he does repent, talk about a Laodecia church style get up...

I'm not perfect myself but to fleece the flock? hmmmmm.

Judas Escariot was called son of perdition by Jesus, what did he do? He stole money and sold Jesus for profiteering, even though this had to occur, the prophecy about the revelation of the son of perdition, is a body of people, like we have the body of Christ.

They are the ones who sell Jesus for profiteering. You see when Jesus comes many will say ''Lord, Lord'' did we not do all these wonderful things in your name?

Jesus is not returning to bare sin but to judge us... The deceivers do to the law of Jesus what Pharisees of old did to the law of Moises.

Amen to that GojuBrian. Its good to see that there are people out there that can
see thru all the problems of WOF and the Gospel of Prosperity.

For once I actually agree with both of you at the same time... (there is a God) LOL... yeah all these evangelists/Meyer etc. are not for me either, I checked them out and decided 'no' ... I just want the good old fashioned simple truth... I don't need to dress it up. But if it works for others, fine.

Brian, I love Joyce Meyer, and Creflo Dollar has gotten much, much better with his teachings. But Joyce teaches you about life, and I will always be grateful to her for doing so. The Lord makes all kinds of preachers, and the Lord makes certain preachers to preach certain things, certain styles and so on, like Jessie Duplantis, he is a one of a kind preacher, he brings a lot of humor to his teachings, he makes learning about God fun. Joyce applies everyday life to Biblical teachings, she is a lot of fun. But Joyce and Jessie will tell you, that they are not for everybody, so be it.

I think Joyce Meyer gives more sensible, Scripture-based teaching than just about anyone I've ever heard. Coming from an abusive background has given her tremendous insight into the struggles and trials of those who are suffering from the disappointments of this life. I remember her telling the story of how God called her to the ministry and how she tried to avoid it. She said, "My first question was, 'God you gave me THIS voice and then tell me to go speak in public?" I think her unique voice is one thing that keeps people riveted to her when she's speaking.

I also love her books. It's hard to listen to her teaching or read her books and remain discouraged.

God Bless.

While not wanting to get in on divisions among brethren, I also must testify on behalf of Benny Hinn. When I began noticing him on TV I changed channels instantly. I just didn't like him, his style, his appearance. That went on for years. But one day a lady member of our church asked me a special favor. We had been praying for her daughter since she was about a year old, suffering her life with rheumatoid arthritis, ten years later wheelchair bound, disfigured horribly, and helpless on pain management electronics and medicines. A few members moved to other churches, discouraged over not seeing a healing, and seeing no help from no telling how many evangelists, visiting preachers, you name it. I was discouraged too, but prayed. It was one of those problems you wish would just be a bad dream. The woman wanted to get the girl to a nearby Benny Hinn crusade. Of all choices! I was on vacation and available, and the journey by church bus and wheelchair was going to be tough, so I was trapped. I dreaded the whole thing, to my eventual shame.

It was indeed a hard job, not realizing how totally helpless and in pain the girl was. But we got her in her chair on the main floor a few rows out from the stage. I wanted to leave her there and go sit in the bus, but was trapped again. I didn't know they did this, but praise singers came out on stage, then began moving through the filling arena, singing, some laying on hands and praying. A lady prayed for the girl, moved on. One of the men prayed for me for deliverance from hostility. I probably was a bit hot under the collar and apparently showed it. I watched the girl, looked up at our church group all with hands in the air praying, praising God. There I sat like a toad. The band struck up, a lady sang a wonderful song, and then swoopped in what appeared to be an angel in all white. It was Benny. He just began to praise Jesus, and right then that girl stood to her feet. So did several other people in wheelchairs, standing up before anyone preached. I was no longer a toad. By the time her mother and friends got to her she was a normal ten year old girl, and still is 6 years later. Her doctors say it is a medical marvel, but they "only treat, not heal".

What happened next answered a lot of questions for us. With all the commotion some staff people did come down and interview her and her mother. They wanted both to get in the healing line. The mother was way to overcome to take any more of it, so they declined and we began leaving. I looked back just before exiting to see literally hundreds of people on the main floor jumping, walking, praising God, giving testimonies to staff workers. Not a word could be heard from Benny or anyone else on the stage. They were praising God, on their knees, faces, sitting, a few jumping around, just letting it all happen. Some lined up, many returned. Lots of wheelchairs were left empty, crutches left behind, air splints cast away, breathers piled up. It was huge.

And Hank Hannegraff wasn't there to see it, and probably wouldn't go. Channel 7 TV wasn't there, and probably never will be. Our bus driver told me "It's like that every meeting."

I realize Hinn has uttered some errors. But I have come to believe any preacher besides Jesus claiming he has preached perfectly is a liar. A kind way of saying that is simply that if a preacher waits until he has all his doctrinal ducks in a perfect tow, he is too old to stand to preach. As for internet claims of what Hinn and other TV evangelists have supposedly said or done, most of it is either false or taken way out of context.

I am very careful not to bring some judgment upon myself for foolish words. I've learned it's best to hold off judgment until you've heard and read for yourself sufficiently to take a matter to court and win. Meanwhile, we are commanded to mark those that cause divisions, and rightly judge messages against what the Bible says. The Holy Spirit will move to alarm over error, but hen prove His case in the Word. I'm just saying don't be found sitting in the seat of the scornful. I've read enough about the claims against Hinn, seen him respond properly to occasional negative peer review, and see he has complied with all US laws concerning the donations. He is spotless before the law. Odd, yes. Says things the Bible doesn't cover, yes. So do I. So do you. Puts up a tough case for more donations, yes. Has an expensive ministry, yes. World-wide TV costs a lot, but millions are saved as a result.

What's your dollar limit for a soul?

Why does Hinn stay at $15,000 a night suites when he travels? Have you seen his mansions?

He's not a false prophet, he's not a prophet at all. He is just a lying money hungry man who twists scripture and brain washes. He is a word of faith bologney speaker who is on a path of destruction taking masses of gullible sheeple with him. No big deal...... :shrug

Hi Brian,

He sees his ministry not as a ministry, but as a job/career. :shrug He most likely feels he deserves all this from God in exchange for a few miracles.

But here is the right attitude, straight from the greatest miracle worker this world has or will EVER see.

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. Matthew 8:20

If I had to eat the food given out by any one of the so called TV ministries. I would starve to death, because there is no nutrition in the food they give out.

Those that call themselves Pastors, are to pastor "a" flock. Not "the" flocks.

The Word tells us that "we" are ambassador's for Christ. We - Not them tv evangilists !

I'm always open to investigation of the truth of a matter. Let one of the above accusers of Benny Hinn please produce an official transcript of a claimed false teaching, Surely ya'll have plenty on hand to support your own claims. Let's just look at one at a time.

Next, let's determine some facts, like was a saying taken out of context to produce a meaning completely contrary to his lesson plan. Or perhaps you have some summary produced by one of his constant critics. Of course, let's determine whether a contested statement was sufficiently retracted before his peers. You know, like on those Sunday church bulletins there's often a notice to "correct" something pastor said in his last sermon, thanking the congregation for their patience and understanding, eagerness to forgive. I really admire such pastors quick to attack their own errors.

About that $15,000 a night apartment...did that happen to be downtown Wash DC? I know of such a flat for VIPs subject to lots of harassment and threats of violence, sort of how they threatened to murder Jesus. Sometimes local governments do insist on certain visitors staying in high profile apartments set up for ultimate security at least cost to the city. Very few towns have $15,000 a night rooms, though. I was just curious as to where that was.

Well, I'm not exactly an "accuser" of Benny Hinn, just not one to believe that he is a man of God.

But, if you are truly interested in looking at some of his false teachings and being a good "Berean" and comparing those teachings to the Word of God, then that's a really good thing.

You said you wanted to look at one at a time, so here's one to start off with:

From the April 2000 "Praise-A-Thon"

"The hour is urgent. Many of you have known me for many years. But I am telling you right now, things I haven't said years 'n years 'n years ago. I believe - here this, hear this! I believe, that Jesus, God's Son, is about to appear physically, in meetings and to believers around the world, to wake us up! He appeared after His resurrection and He is about to appear before His second coming! You know a prophetess sent me a word through my wife, right here, and she said 'Tell your husband that Jesus is go'n to physically appear in his meetings.' I am expecting to see, I am telling you that - I feel it's going to happen. I, I, I'm, I'm careful in how I am saying it now, because I know the people in Kenya are listening. I know deep in my soul, something supernatural is going to happen in Nai - in Nairobi Kenya. I feel that. I may very well come back, and you and Jan are coming, to - Paul and Jan are coming to Nairobi with me, but Paul, we may very well come back with footage of Jesus on the platform! You know that the Lord appeared in Romania recently, and there's a video of it? Where the Lord appeared in the back of a church and you see him on video walking down the isle? Yeah! Paul do you remember when I came on TBN years ago and showed you a clip of the Lord appearing in our church in Orlando, on the balcony on the wall? Yeah. You, you remember that?

http://biblelight.info/BennyHinn-2.wmv

Ok, so here is the transcript and I've added a link so that you can watch Benny make these claims for yourself so that you can see that he really did say that Jesus walked down the aisle of a church in Romania, and appeared in the balcony of Hinn's church in Orlando.

What does the word say about those who claim to see Jesus prior to His second coming?

Matthew 24:23-26 [Jesus speaking]: Then if any one says to you, "Behold, here is the Christ" or "There He is", do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance. If therefore they say to you, "Behold, He is in the wilderness" do not go forth, or "Behold, His is in the inner rooms" do not believe them.
