Blood: It Pollutes The Land

†. Num 35:31-33 . . Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death. Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.

That law disturbs me a bit and causes me to seriously ponder how it will affect my future as an Oregon resident where Gov. John Kitzhaber recently mandated a moratorium on executions while he's in office.

†. Gen 9:5-6a . . But for your own life-blood I will require a reckoning: I will require it of every beast; of man, too, will I require a reckoning for human life, of every man for that of his fellow man! Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed

Accountability for the death of a human being is a stipulation of Noah's covenanted law that has never been repealed. It is a universal law that applies to every beast and to every human being.

†. Gen 9:8-10 . .Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that was with you— the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you —every living creature on earth.

Are people today Noah's descendants? Yes. So then, that covenant is just as binding upon people today as it was upon Noah. Are the creatures of the world today descendants of the creatures aboard the ark? Yes. So then that covenant is just as binding upon today's creatures as it was upon those that came off the ark: and every time there's a rainbow, we're reminded.

†. Gen 9:6b . . for in His image did God make man.

Refusal to execute murderers undervalues the sanctity of not only Man, but more importantly, the sanctity of Almighty God because Man was made in His likeness. Shouldn't it be a death offense to kill God without justification? Then it has to be a death offense to kill someone in His image without justification; ergo: the death penalty is a courtesy to God while moratoriums against it reveal that Gov. Kitzhaber thinks less of his creator than he does the murderers he's shielding from justice.

ps: I guess it's no surprise that Gov. Kitzhaber is openly shacking up with a girlfriend. If he despises God's prescription for sanitizing Oregon of a murder victim's blood, then why ever would he bother to comply with God's feelings about morality? You know what disturbs me? A majority of Oregon's voters put that man in office while fully aware of his unholy relationship; which tells me that a majority of Oregon's voters don't seem to think much of God's feelings about morality either.

If you expand on the concept of the land polluted by innocent blood, you begin to see where we are in greater trouble because of abortion.

If you consider that oral contraceptives do not stop ovulation 25-35% of the time, our abortion rate is much much higher than someone might at first think.

God told Abraham that his descendents would get the land in 400 years because the cup of Canaanite iniquity was not yet full. Our "cup" is filling much faster.

Romans one tells us why homosexuality is increasing so rapidly. It is because people reject even the knowledge of God and worship the creation more than the Creator. This brings a judicial punishment of a reprobate mind of which homosexuality in a manifestation.

You can read a description of these times in 2 Timothy chapter three. I was struck when I first read verse six how well it described Phil Donahue and Oprah Winfrey.

The tribulation period which seems to start in Revelation chapter six seems to require the death of one out of every four people on earth. If once considers a nuclear exchange between us and Russia, one begins to get close to this number. If you add in the starvation from the interruption of food shipments and disease, it is conceivable that this could happen. When you consider the blood shed both here and in Russia of innocent babies, it is conceivable that it should happen.

Oregon's Gov. John Kitzhaber is a Physician by profession, and sworn to the Hippocratic Oath; which reads, in part :

"Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given to me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God."

Mr. Kitzhaber is pro-choice. I have no clue how, in all good conscience, he can approve the execution of innocent children while disapproving the execution of convicted murderers.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

It may be that he doesn't have a "good conscience".

Satan is called the prince of this world. It seems that for now and insofar as he is allowed by God, Satan has his plans for the world that include murder. It is a testimony to his cleverness as to how he gets us to do it to ourselves.

The book of Numbers is an OT book isn't it?

Yeah. And?

How about 1 John?

1Jo 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

for the record the law in what it condmend didnt change as far non-ritualistic things.

ie the ritual washings but not moral living. thus what the great flood was for and also sodoma and gommorah.

a great majority of the laws was ritualistic.

so, pebbles , should we then just say its ok to murder when men redefines it to holocausts? surely the germans thought the jews werent human.

I have mixed feelings about abortion. I'd rather women avoided the procedure, and I think that if society had more programs that made it possible to raise children with support--day care, money for food and health care (better yet, nationalized health care)--then the procedure would less common. I've read that its less common in many European countries that have all those niceties. I don't think banning abortion in the US at this moment would be the best thing to do, nor do I think it would necessarily reduce the number of abortions much.

Deu 19:10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

The so called choice for having a child is long before conception. Personal responsibility seems to be a novel idea these days. Some where in the neighbourhood of 3000 abortions per day in this land. Most are for convenience with the unborn not having any choice in the matter. It is vile, filthy and ugly. I see nothing Christlike in abortion.

In our world today it is to easy to think some one other than ones self should supply ones wants/needs. Joe Tax payer did not help conceive the child it is not Mr.& Mrs Tax payer responsibility to support those who are careless, about conceiving a child. Those who want pleasures without care. Who want freedom without responsibilities. I can not understand the selfishness of folks who are willing to support and kill for convenience.

As was said in the forums some place lately is some form.... 'Keep your dress down and pants up.' This simple act would eliminate abortion, STDs and a lot of pain.

Personal responsibility.

I wasn't directly argueing with the topic of the thread or your anti-abortion opinions I've heard this stuff before and it's unintresting to me at this moment I was more confused by your use of the old testiment to justify moral attitudes.

I'm not going to patronize you... You know what's written in the old testiment I won't derail this thread with my bemusment of this fact I will make a seperate thread for this issue.

Deleted some off topic and off color posts.

Lets stay on topic and lets be civil people. If you can't be civil and mature as you discuss a topic, it's best you not post at all. :nono2

Mr. Kitzhaber aside, I have a question about God's management practices. My question regards the pardon that God gave to David for the capital crime of pre-mediated murder when His own law forbids any and all deviations from its stipulations.

†. Ex 21:12-14 . .When a man schemes against another and kills him treacherously, you shall take him from My very altar to be put to death.

†. Num 35:31-33 . . Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.

†. Deut 4:2 . .You shall not add anything to what I command you or take anything away from it, but keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I enjoin upon you.

†. Deut 5:29-30 . . Be careful, then, to do as the Lord your God has commanded you. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left: follow only the path that the Lord your God has enjoined upon you

†. Deut 26:16-18 . .The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

By all rights; God should be cursed for letting David slide.

†. Deut 27:26 . . Cursed be he who will not uphold the terms of this Law and observe them.

How was God able to dishonor His own law without compromising His integrity and incurring a curse upon Himself?

I have not been asking about me. I have been asking about Gov. John Kitzhaber, the Bible's David, and the Bible's God.

I'm going to repeat this because apparently I didn't make myself clear the first time.

David didn't just commit a sin, he committed a first-degree felony for which the Bible's God mandates capital punishment; no exceptions.

So: how did God let David slide for pre-meditated murder without compromising His integrity and dishonoring His own law? Does the Bible's God practice a double standard: one for Himself and one for man?
