Certain professions get me worried. Can a christian design a brothel (he's awarded this contract)?

Can a christian programmer design and manage a pornography website for someone?
There are many others.

However my emphasis is on this millitary stuff.

Can a christian choose to be a soldier, and killing enemies in wars? Some have killed more than a hundred :dunno :shrug :confused :shocked
 
BTW your brothel ,porn, military comparison is a bad comparison

They are wrong - and some are happy with doing 'such jobs' in the name of making money.

I have a friend who worked at the museum and part of her job involved stocktaking occultic objects, idols and statues of many pagan cultures. Over time her health got affected and deteriorated from bad to worse. The church unanimously felt that it was time for her to leave the job as it wasn't God's will. Despite her reluctance and economic recession, she finally mustered the courage to let go and quit her job. God is faithful and promptly blessed her with a new job that didn't involve the occult and of course, she has since also been completely healed and restored of her good health. :thumbsup

really so men like moralnilihist and myself took glee in killing. i havent taken a life in war. i joined the army to get away from my hometown of snobby rich retirees. i joined the guard for extra money( i wont lie) but i also dont take joy in going to war. is there something wrong with being paid to serve ones country?

while you blog this here, there are americans dying afghanistan so that this site can allow you insult them.

moralnilihist has told me some things in private that he has been through.i wont post that.
 
i have edited two posts with the word suck in them.

let us endeavor not to use them. im guilty of it too at times

I just listed few professions I'm not comfortable with.
Tina's illustration is another example of such.

Some people are programmers who are paid to design certain harmful applications, some people manufactre certain equipment other individuals use for certain illegal things, I know of a christian sister, an actress, who has been acting certain dirty parts a christian shouldn't act, some political positions are not good for a christian, some people are used by the gov, etc.

I should have listed a thousand and one of these.
 
and common sense reading of the bible will tell you the adult star/film industry is bad and ought not to be done.

soldiering isnt mentioned nor listed in that category, however i do see why some take that stance., i respect that.. but

i can say the same with any sport

hockey promotes violence that has nothing to do with that sport.ie the fights in it.
soccer does the same indirectly
footbal(american) has them half-dress chearleaders that tempt me to sin
mma and boxing(while i can do these). can also lead to the same as above with the fight girls.

however im not a legalist.

i can also say the same with musicians that are in church as most of them also play or have played in secular settings. my bro is one of those and he listens and watches somethings that i cant simply watch anymore.

You are right. The truth remains that certain professions are a lot better than the others. Some christians waste their lives doing 'pool' and money.

I'm not reffering to any soldiers in particular. When you look carefully you will find out there is greed somewhere. C wants to control D and D does not want to be controlled. There is always greed and selfishness somewhere.
 
well, all we citizens have is the info that the goverment or the corpotarist media tell us why the wars went down.

we dont sit in on the nsa media. here the dems went along with bush then shafted him when the war in iraq got tough. then when he was gone they marched with obama when the nato forces hit lybia and also sent arms to the rebels.

so neither side is innocent. not all wars are just. but can we honestly say that america has been that agressive?

we pulled out of iraq,saudi arabia,kyrgyz,uzbeksistan,tajikistan when asked to do so. hardly the act of an agressor.

on bad intel we went into iraq, but then again we could say the exact same with lybia imho. was gaffadi a threat? i dont know. im not there with the president and getting brief by the nsa or asked by the arab league to intervene.

which would you have?

a temple and unjust king who was harsh(solomon) or david with no temple?

i choose david anyday over solomon.

not all are called to be priests by profession. some are called to be protectors.

goverment if used rightly can be used for my godly purpose. in the past ere the constitution of 1789 americas goverment had the bible printed and later on encouraged reading.

your european and modern day american goverments wouldnt allow that at all. and yet we have violence in schools, needless wars at times, and godless living being promoted by the goverment.

my goverment promotes gay rights to the islamic nations and then wonders why they hate us.

yet wont promote the babies right to live, the basic right of humans to worship as they see fit openly(see breakpoint.org for that) as the left here is for the right to worship. that isnt what the constution guarentees.

That was on account of his heinous murder of Uriah and adultery with Uriah's wife Bathsheba. David didn't kill just to protect his people or the Word of God, he killed for lust and greed. If you ask me, God went light on him.

:dunno :shrug I doubt if I ever used the word. Maybe I reported from his original construction. Besides, Hitches' use of it isn't harsh. Word could mean different things to different people, culturally

(or his team could have lost a game;))
