  • Focus on the Family

    Strengthening families through biblical principles.

Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Christ applies redemption as well!

All men drawn by virtue of Christ's Death ! 4

Now the underlying reason for those all Sheep, or Children of God to be drawn to Christ, it is because they have been predestinated to the adoption of Children by Jesus Christ to Himself Eph 1:5

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Jn 11:52

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Ensures the hearing of Faith !

The Death of Christ, for all whom He died, ensures unto them the Hearing of Faith ! This is True because its promised that the Just shall live by Faith Rom 1:17

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

The word shall in divine matters tells us that it has been predestined by God to happen !

Now who are the Just that shall live by Faith ? Its all for whom Christ by His Obedience of one shall make Righteous Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

That word righteous is the same greek word for Just in Rom 1:17 , hence all for whom Christ's obedience / death shall make Righteous or Just, shall Live by Faith !

So therefore His Death ensures the Hearing of Faith, because Faith comes by Hearing Rom 10:17 !

Now , Jesus who specifically stated that He lays down His Life for His Sheep Jn 10:11,15 goes on to say that they [ the Sheep He lays down His Life for] shall hear His voice Jn 10:16,27

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear[hearing of faith] my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

27 My sheep hear[hearing of faith] my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Again this is the Hearing of Faith as in Rom 10:17 and Gal 3:2,5

2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Again Jn 10:16 ensures this hearing of Faith or the Hearing of His Voice, the promise is " they shall hear"

That word shall means that it has already been determined that they shall hear His voice.

Jesus also says who it is that hears His voice here Jn 18:37

37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Cp with Jn 10:16 !

What is it to be "of the Truth " ? Its to have the Spirit of Truth in Us by New Birth Jn 14:17

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. The Sheep !

This Spirit of Truth enables one to hear and embrace the Truth ! But nevertheless, Christ's Death ensures the Hearing of Faith unto everyone He died, of His Sheep ! 38

It ensures heaven !

Christ's death ensures heaven for those He died for, also called the Eternal Inheritance Heb 9:15

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Listen, Christ's Death, or by means of His Death as the Surety / Mediator of His People, redeemed His People from their iniquities , transgressions, under both testaments, so that they may be called unto the obtaining of the Eternal Inheritance, which is Heaven ! Its the same as being called unto His Kingdom and Glory 1 Thess 1:12

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. or

to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ 2 Thess 2:14

Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Also its the same Inheritance Peter writes of here 1 Pet 1:3-4

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

And its the one Paul refers to here Gal 3:18

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it[The Inheritance] to Abraham by promise.

And the writer of Hebrews mentions it Heb 11:8

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Note: Many think that the Inheritance of Heb 11:8 promised to Abraham was physical land of this earth over in the middle east, but they are deceived, it was a Heavenly Inheritance as Per Heb 11:16

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

And all the seed shall be called unto the obtaining of it, that is, "they which are called" in Heb 9:15

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

In the original its "οἱ κεκλημένοι " the having been called ones, notice the definite article for the ones being called, its not all mankind that this call goes out to !

This Inheritance is bequeathed upon all Christ died for, His Seed or the Seed of Abraham, and His Death secured the Inheritance unto them !38

No condemnation upon them Christ died for !

Did you know that its impossible for any that Christ died for, to come under God's condemnation ? In fact here is a promise for all whom Christ died, even before they believe Jn 5:24

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Now Rom 8:1 informs us that there is no condemnation [imputed or charged]to them which are IN Christ Jesus See 2 Tim 1:9 ! And yet its also clear in scripture that there is a non imputation or a exclusion of condemnation to those for whom Christ died Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

In other words, being condemned is offset by the fact that Christ died !

Also for those same ones He died, He maketh intercession for at the Right Hand of God. This Intercession for them is not conditioned upon them believing in Him, but upon His dying for them !

Those He makes intercession for, cannot come into condemnation, whether they are believing or not.

He intercedes in their behalf if they believe or not. You see all for whom Christ died, they have already received [by imputation] redemption through His Blood and the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace Eph 1:7

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

They have this regardless of their unbelief, its strictly according to the riches of His Grace,

So they have as unbelievers, based upon redemption and grace alone Justification Rom 3:24

24 Being justified or free from condemnation freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Yes even as unbelievers those Christ died for are Justified from all condemnation, because Christ died, He died because their condemnation was charged to Him and not them. Now that He has satisfied God's Justice, they never come into condemnation, but they shall be passed from death to life ! 38

The Saving Benefits of Christ's Death !

Another scripture that speaks of the saving benefits of the Death of Christ is Rom 8:32

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Now this applies to all for whom He was delivered up for. That word delivered speaks of His death as it does also here Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Where here it clearly states He was delivered up for our offences, or simply he died for our sins 1 Cor 15:3,

Yet Rom 8:32 goes on to say in regards to them He was delivered up for " how shall he[The Father] not with him also freely give us all things?"

Now what are these all things freely given along with Christ to them He was delivered up for ? One of those things is free Justification from all sin !

Look back at Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Those whom sins He was delivered because of, the same was He raised because of their Justification from all the offences He was delivered up for !

Now that is also indicated in Rom 8:32 with the words "freely give" those are the words charizomai and means:

I.to do something pleasant or agreeable (to one), to do a favour to, gratify

A.to show one's self gracious, kind, benevolent

B.to grant forgiveness, to pardon

C.to give graciously, give freely, bestow

i.to forgive

ii.graciously to restore one to another

iii.to preserve for one a person in peril

That speak to Justification, forgiveness of sins is Justification from them !

One of the Saving Benefits that come with the Giving of Christ to those He was delivered up for, is Justification from sin and or forgiveness of sins ! 39

The Saving Benefits of Christ's Death ! 2

First of all to have given us Christ is to have given us Salvation, this is stated here by the aged Saint Lk 2:30-32

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Because He is Salvation, He Lightens the Gentiles !

And so in giving us Christ, we with Him receive some fringe benefits, those things which accompany Salvation, who is Christ Heb 6:9

9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany/joined with salvation or Christ, though we thus speak.

Benefits of the Spiritual kind are joined with the giving of Christ, things appropriate for full Salvation !

Lets look at 2 Pet 1-4

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Now notice Vs 3 He hath given us [along with the giving us of Christ Rom 8:32]

All things that pertain to Life and Godliness, through the Knowledge of Him that hath called us to Glory and virtue !39

The Saving Benefits of Christ's Death ! 3

Notice in addition that these things accompany them that God has called 2 Pet 1:3

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

So with Christ being given [Rom 8:32] all things also were given that pertains to their complete Salvation was given, to effect a life of Godliness which includes Spiritual Life !

That word godliness eusebeia means:

I.reverence, respect

II.piety towards God, godliness

So one of the all things that are given us along with Christ is piety or fear towards God, reverence for Him, because by nature we have it not Rom 3:18

18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

So Christ's Death for us secures unto us a fear of God, also comes Faith or the acknowledging of the Truth Titus 1:1

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

There is no godliness towards God without acknowledging His Truth as it is in Christ Jesus !

Remember we are given all things that pertain to Life and Godliness 2 Pet 1:3

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Yes, the Truth is also the Gospel, and so that's given with Christ, meaning that the acknowledgement of the Truth of the Gospel shall accompany the giving of Christ, which is simply belief of the Truth 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:39

Christ's Death has gathering power !

For it was not without reason Jesus said stated these words Jn 12:32

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Here He promises that as an result of His being Lifted up from the Earth [meaning His Death by Crucifixion] He would draw all men to Himself, which denotes a total conversion experience ! That word draw has the same meaning or force as the words gather together here Jn 11:50-52

50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

This Vs 52 is stating that the effect of the One Man dying for the People in Vs 50-51, His death was in order that, He should gather together, the people or Children of God, not only of that nation, but out of all nations wherein they are scattered abroad Rev 5:9

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

But the important fact here is how they were gathered together. That word or words in the greek sunago, and means to draw together, to bring together. This bringing or drawing together in one is the purposed result of His death ! The same thing is implied in Jesus words here Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

In which He brings the Sheep together into one fold, or all the Children of God, and they all follow their One Shepherd, The Lord Jesus Christ. This gathering of the People by Shiloh was known by Faith by Jacob Gen 49:10

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh[Christ] come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

So in essence Jn 12:32 is saying the same thing as Jn 11:50-52, and His dying or being lifted up is the author of the drawing or gathering together, which means conversion !39

Puts on the Highway of Holiness !

Many in false religion sale short the accomplishment of the Death of Christ, instead of acknowledging that His Death effected Salvation experimentally for all whom He died, that it effects conversion to God, they deny it, saying that it only makes it possible, hence leaving it to the sinner to effect their Salvation, the sinner gets that Glory, not God !

The Death of Christ did redeem those He died for by paying a ransom, His Own Blood, and that had many consequences as an result. Isa 35:8-10

8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

That way, is also called the Highway of Holiness ! Its that narrow way Jesus speaks of here Matt 7:13-14

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

But we find out from our text who that few who findeth that Narrow way, that way of being called the Highway of Holiness ! Its the redeemed of the Lord, it is promised they shall walk there !

Again notice Vs 9 makes a promise which states :

The redeemed shall walk there. The redeemed are those who have been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ 1 Pet 1:18-20, they are also the ransomed of the Lord Matt 20:28

28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

John Gill writes on the redeemed of Isa 35:9 :

but the redeemed shall walk there; without fear, as Kimchi adds, since no lion, or any beast of prey, shall be found upon it: the "redeemed" are the redeemed of the Lord, and by him, and are peculiarly his, being bought with his precious blood, redeemed from among men, and unto God, and from sin, the law, its curse, and condemnation; these "shall walk" in the way of life and salvation by Christ, in consequence of their being redeemed; which supposes life, strength, and wisdom, which are given them, and a proficiency or going forward: they "shall" walk here; though they have been blind, their eyes shall be opened to see this way; and, though weak, they shall have strength to walk in it; and, though foolish, they shall have wisdom to guide their feet with discretion; and, though they may stumble and fall, they shall rise again, and shall keep on walking to the end.39

It reconciles us to God !

2 Cor 5:18

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

All those for whom Christ died, by His Death alone, not only was God reconciled to them, but they are reconciled to God ! Thats right Believers [The us in in our text] are experimentally reconciled to God by Jesus Christ ! The word by dia is the greek prep that means primarily:

A primary preposition denoting the channel of an act

C.of means

i.by

ii.by the means of

II.through

A.the ground or reason by which something is or is not done

i.by reason of

ii.on account of

iii.because of for this reason

iv.therefore

v.on this account

The channel by which they acted in their conversion was by means of Jesus Christ !

The word reconciled katallassō :

I.to change, exchange, as coins for others of equivalent value

A.to reconcile (those who are at variance)

B.return to favour with, be reconciled to one

C.to receive one into favour

It denotes reconciling both parties that were at varience or contention or enmity, so that the enmity we have towards God by nature in the flesh Rom 8:7

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

That enmity is defeated, so that now we become reconciled to God in ourselves, we are no longer enemies in our minds by wicked works Col 1:21

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

The word reconciled here is the word apokatallassō and means:

I.to reconcile completely

II.to reconcile back again

III.bring back a former state of harmony

You see, Christ's reconciling death in order for it to be successful and to have accomplished the will of God completely, it must not only legally reconcile God to us, but at the same time stimulate our experimental reconciliation / conversion back to God !39

It reconciles us to God ! 2

Christ's Death must also reconcile us to God experimentally [active participation] because like others we were alienated from God and or the life of God Eph 4:18

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

When alienated from God it entails :

The understanding is darkened

Ignorance is in us

Blindness of heart !

But however, the Effects of Christ's death defeats all of that, and causes us an experimental reconciliation to God or conversion.

The same Truth is taught by Peter 1 Pet 3:18

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins[His Death doe our sins], the just for the unjust, that/hina purpose he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

You see the Purpose of His Death was in order to bring us to God, which is another way of saying reconciling us to God experimentally in a conversion experience.

Now if we say that Christ died for all without exception, and for many who never become experimentally reconciled to God in a conversion experience, then we are teaching against what the Death of Christ accomplished for them He died as it is taught in the scripture. We deny the reconciling effects of the death of Christ, that it not only reconciled God to us, but us to God as well !

Christ has already died their second death !

Those who go into perdition are going into the second death Rev 20:14

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

This second death is no more than the wages of sin, for the wages of sin is death Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ezk 18:4

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

But the good news for some is this Isa 53:12

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

In this, His Soul was as if it was the souls of Many, the many he bare their sin, and His death was as to say the death of many, even the second death of many for the wages of their sins !

Listen, the Eternal Wrath and Damnation and Suffering for sin that their sin/sins deserved, has been accomplished by Christ. Yes Christ their Mediator Surety, for those He specifically died for, has in His Own Soul and Body, bare the punishment, hell, second death, torture of soul due to the sins of all those He died for, God's Elect, His Sheep, the Church !

The giving/pouring out of His Soul Isa 53:12 was and did include the Second Death .

This said, for any that Christ died for to be part of these Rev 20:12-15

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For them to be one of any of those to be cast into the Lake of fire, which clearly is the second death so says Vs 14 , it would be Injustice on God's Part and a disregard for what His Son endured already for those He died for ! 39

Christ applies redemption as well !

The Lord Jesus Christ in His Threefold Mediatorial Character as Priest, prophet and King, makes sure that the Salvation He accomplished for all those He died for, is experienced by them, that is, not only was His blood a bare purchase and then He sets back and offers it, but also by Him as King, He applies it to its subjects to give it effect, to bestow its benefits of grace, they being destined to be conformed into His image, which is their total salvation.
The King doesn't apply the blood. The Holy Spirit does.
For this cause He was invested with all power in both heaven and earth as per Matt 28:18
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Jn 17:2
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give[apply] eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
The word power in Matt 28:18 and Jn 17:2 is the greek word exousia:
power of choice, liberty of doing as one pleases
a) leave or permission
2) physical and mental power
a) the ability or strength with which one is endued, which he either possesses or exercises
3) the power of authority (influence) and of right (privilege)
Jesus made this point very clear, that He has all Power to His [Disciples] at their commission. This was not just to be saying that He has all power, but in and through their witness of the Truth of His death, He would be applying that which He purchased as Priest [His offering of Himself] by His own blood, their salvation.

The King doesn't apply the blood. The Holy Spirit does.
The Holy Spirit is sent by the King to perform His Will Jn 15:26

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

The Spirit quickens, gives life to whoever Christ quickens, for in the economy of Salvation He works for Christs Glory

Jn 5:21

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
Jn 6:63

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Jn 16:13-14

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

1 Cor 15:47

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The Holy Spirit applies the Spiritual Salvation to them Christ died for and saves.

1 Cor 15:47

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The Holy Spirit applies the Spiritual Salvation to them Christ died for and saves.
All three Persons of the Trinity are involved in the redemption of God's people.
It was the Father's plan, the Son implemented the plan, and the Holy Spirit applies the plan to God's elect. The Spirit is the One who "quickeneth" as you quote Scripture and He does it by applying the blood. But not the King. He delegates that ministry to the Holy Spirit.
There is only ONE Person of the Trinity in the earth today and that is the Holy Spirit. Since the Work of Christ is complete now it is time to apply the salvation bought by the Son and this is the Ministry of the Holy Spirit.

It accomplished we being dead to sins !

1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Now who are the We here that is dead to sin/s ? And what does it mean to be dead to sins ? Well the answer to the first question, The WE belongs to Believers in Jesus Christ, but also it belongs to all for whom Christ, in His Own Body and Self bare their sins !

Thats absolutely right, for it was solely in the fact that He bare their sins in His own self and Body that resulted in them all being dead to sins !

Now exactly what does it mean to be dead to sins ? It means that they are dead to the condemnation that their sins bring. Sin brings condemnation Rom 5:18a

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

The word condemnation, the greek word katakrima:

punishment following condemnation, penal servitude, penalty.

"the results of judgment") – properly, the exact sentence of condemnation handed down after due process (establishing guilt).

All for whom Christ died are dead to all the condemnation and penalty of their sins !

The reason being, His Death for them, and in their stead, took on all the punishment, condemnation their Transgressions deserved for sinning against God's Law, His Justice has been forever satisfied in their behalf ! This is the Truth so much so, that even as enemies and unbelievers, they have been reconciled to God by His Death Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Notice how Paul tell believers such as his self, that they were reconciled to God when ? When we were enemies, or to say unbelievers ! Thats because they were made by His death, dead to sins !39

It accomplished we being dead to sins ! 2

Now because Christ bare our sins in His own self and body, the sins we commit in adam, and from our own natural births , they have no power to condemn us before God's Law and Justice, all transgressions of theirs has been taken away, removed from before God's Law and Justice Ps 103:12

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Now the purpose of being dead to sins, is so that by New and Spiritual Life granted by Divine quickening from spiritual death, is so we may live unto Righteousness 1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that[hina purpose clause] we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

To Live unto Righteousness means to Live by Faith. The word live zao means:

to live, experience God's gift of life. That Gift of Life is New Birth,

It also means:

to live, be among the living, be alive (not lifeless, not dead):

See God cannot be the God of the dead, but of the Living Remember these words Matt 22:32

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

So hear this, the consequence of being dead to our sins by the Death of Christ, and not having sins charged to us, which death is the wages of Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then our death must be reversed, its been eliminated, or abolished for us by the Death of Christ, so death in all of its phases, spiritual, eternal, and natural must be reversed into Life, We must be made alive , to begin with Spiritually, this life must be granted us in the way of Justice, and by it we live unto Righteousness !
