Christian Boudoir Photography... a sin?

Hey everyone. I'm new here. Was looking for a large Christian forum with believers of all ages and walks of life to humbly ask this question.

As a professional photographer, I primarily photograph weddings and of the 35 or so weddings I do per year, probably 3 or 4 of them the bride asks me to photograph her boudoir session. I always insist upon them having a friend there when we shoot, getting the Okay from the fiance, and it always ends up being a great time. My fiance supports me photographing them since she knows it's part of the business. Recently I was confronted by a more mature Christian (non photographer) saying that this was absolutely wrong, citing James 1 and a few other places saying we should flee from temptation. But for me, photographing these isn't tempting. And temptation itself is not a sin. Whether I'm shooting a bride in lingerie, a family shoot, a car, a sunset... it's all the same to me. In fact, giving photos like this to her husband is only reinforcing their marriage, which should please God.

Wouldn't Jesus want a husband and wife to become more intimate and enjoy the physical side of their relationship together? Or it is just wrong that I'm male, but a female doing this sort of photography would be perfectly fine?

Is this any different than having a male doctor giving a female patient a full exam? Are lifeguards not suppose to be Christian because of the girls in bikinis on the beach? Am I suppose to ask for a different waitress at the restaurant because the one I have is good looking and I may be tempted?

Sin, no sin or ?

There is nothing wrong in enjoying physical relationship with your wife or husband. you have to be true to your partner. It is part of nature otherwise world will end without it

If it's racy or illicits any kind of lust, no matter how small....then it is questionable material and practice, whether it is meant for the spouse or not. The marriage and bond between the spouses should be private and any kind of questionable material that might interfere with that union by outside applications could be a form of possible cause effect.

"Would I want any other person to see my spouse in form of intimate apparel or such once I am married to that person?" NOO!!

Matthew 5:27-28

New International Version (NIV)

Adultery27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[a] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Granted you may not look at the spouse in a lustful manner, but what about others...co-workers, children that find them in there parents collection, accidental release of pictures or video to others after production, etc.

"It's better safe than sorry, I always say."

Another way to look at is....if you keep your eyes; which lead to your brain and thoughts, clean and free from anything impure; then you will less likely lead your self and possibly others along the way to impurity and uncleanliness.

REDIT-Nope definitely inappropriate...I researched a little and basically it is soft-core porn. It illicit's lust and is even more devious and grievous because it involves married spouses. This is a "immoral" practice that seeds LUST period. If you call yourself Christian I would remove yourself posthaste if possible from this equation. You are promoting LUST.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I certainly agree about lust.

But to put a blanket ban on comparable photographs of, say, young people from church at a beach, would be over-zealous. I think, anyway.

Blessings.

One easy test is to ask or establish if these activities are part of the doctrine of Christ. See how it is covered in 2 John 1:9,10 NKJV; " 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds."

I would say, within these constraints, it is up to you.

the naked body is not sinful of itself, so if you do it as a professional photographer on request of the customers then you do not sin, but if there are deranging sexual perversions especially in the form of porn for commercial purposes then better don't do it

Blessings
