I got this idea from a conversation I was having with Papa Zoom and he is some into some pretty killer rock music!! :rockingSo I'm hoping that he'll post some of the songs he was showing me because they really truly rock and prove without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus rocks too!! So, if you like to rock as much as I do, why don't you go ahead and post some of your favorite rock songs? Thank you CF for teaching me that I don't have to give up my love of rock music because of one song that I found offensive when there are so many rocking songs out there like these!

I grew up on rock. I love folk and jazz and classical too. I had a band back in the 70s and we played around at different spots in Minnesota. I never liked heavy metal and screaming but some of it's good. I'm into guitar riffs and a good solid beat. But I also love Bach.

Questionable lyrics bother me and for that reason I don't cover those songs. It's just a thing I have.

I agree. I am not really into heavy metal either because all it basically is is a bunch of screaming to me and I don't like the offensive songs either obviously. Ever seen School of Rock before by any chance? I love that movie! I would post my favorite song from that movie but it has a bad word in it so best not too although the rest of the song is absolutely fantastic!

How's this? This is heavy metal but it's not offensive because it's lyrics are ok.

Ever try the "Industrial Metal" or what ever it is called? Back in the late 80's or early 90's "Mad at The World" released several albums. This cut was one of my three favorites back then...

Rock n roll aint noise pollution.

Sorry, I can't tell whether or not you are being sarcastic with this comment. For the record though, I don't like heavy metal at all due to this very reason. It's not about whether or not I find it offensive, it's just a bunch of screaming and noise to me.

It's a quote from an AC-DC song.

There actually is quite a bit of hard rock that is not screaming. There are some very good ballads done by popular hard rock groups.

What's a quote from an ACDC song? And I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with liking heavy metal, it's just not my cup of tea.:shrug

Do you look into the meaning behind the lyrics? or go from what the lyrics say?. There are many songs that seem offensive but the meaning behind them are not. Its just telling a story. I guess it depends how people interpret.

Yes I've done that. But it's important to me as a musician that I'm careful in the songs I play in the ears of the public.

my favorite song (at the moment) lol

I have to admit. At first when I saw this I was like really? :rolleyes Lol, but I actually liked it even though it definitely isn't rock music but I still think it rocks! It's amazing how many new artists I discovered that I like from my time here on the forums that I never even heard of. Free got me hooked on NF and now you got me hooked on that new Christian rock band. I forgot their name already but they dress up like bumblebees lol :lol

Good songs! I really like the Jesus Freak one an awful lot. Wow, it sure is amazing how many different ways we have to worship our Savior through music. Whether or not it's traditional hymns, rock music, or even rap music. As long as it's coming from the heart I really don't think that God cares how we decide to glorify His name. :cross
