Christians against Metal

I used to listen some death metal, I think. either way watch robotech on hulu and then change out the songs with say megadeth, black Sabbath and so forth. lol nice idea.

Do you know of some specifically Christian death metal bands?

It might depend on what church they were raised in. Some churches have some pretty strong opinions on music.

I guess in some local churches the anti metal/hard rock thing is a bit on a par with other stuff such as no pants; the King James as the version the Apostle Paul supposedly used (I love the KJ, but not for this 'reason'), no bodyart, etc.

The no metal/rock is a kind of cultural thing. Fine if this is someone's view. But hard to expect everyone to have the same tastes, I guess...

The OP mentioned screams. I think in hard rock and metal screaming can be overdone. But I think in some circumstances it can be quite effective, if done judiciously.

questdriven, do you have a particular view on the effectiveness of screams sometimes in hard rock/metal. (You know quite a lot about these genres, anyway.)

Rock, particularly hard rock, seems to be one of the types I listen to and enjoy the most. That seems to be pretty consistent. But I keep discovering more and more than I like things from all kinds of genres, too.
