Growth Church Hopping...

I like my church a lot. Grace through faith, line by line teaching...Oh, I really like that! I don't mind hopping around a little bit in scripture to read other relevant scriptures, but it gets old real fast when it's one verse here, one verse there and the point keeps changing too. My Pastor goes line by line, and will hop a little but relevant to the topic, and then come back. That just wonderful. They way it should be I think. And somehow...it almost always seems like he's talking to me. I dunno if that's the Holy Spirit, or my sense of perception and ability to relate topics to myself and circumstances or what, but I love those messages and walkaway with a lot to ponder that day. Praise the Lord. :)

Sounds like the Holy Spirit is speaking to you through your pastor. Praise the Lord for that!!

It does, doesn't it?! I remember the first time I walked into this church on a whim. Oh, the presence of the Spirit was strong there! I knew immediately that I'd be back. It's a huge church, but very modest in decor. They help a lot of people with many outreach programs.

Is your preacher Andrew Wommack? Regardless, many times a pastor can read scripture, give a message relating to it, and the Holy Spirit use it to speak directly to your heart like no one else in the building. I took a Mason friend of mine to church, and I do not remember the reference to scripture, but he did preach on Masons that day the first time I ever heard him do that. After the meeting my friend thought I had told the pastor about him due to the message being so absolute about him; I didn't know he was a Mason before that. I have had a preacher friend say that many times a person will come to him after the meeting stating that his message was especially for them, and he didn't doubt it for a moment.

In Christ Jesus.

Andrew Wommack doesn't have a church. He is not the pastor of any church. :)

You are correct Deborah, it is actually Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc. and he continues to speak at churches and seminars, and teach at Charis College. Some years ago I saw him often preaching at local churches and thought he still did. It seems that he now more connected to TV ministries, but I believe his sermons are attended; I could be wrong because I attempted to watch a teaching video and he taught talking to a camera only. :shrug

He still is a speaker at different churches and seminars, preaching if you will. You are correct that his TV ministry is only before a camera, pre-recorded. So what I was addressing was the Andrew does not have a church for Edward to attend. If you look at his website you won't see one. He hasn't pastored a church in about 30 yrs., I think.
Last spring my daughter completed her first year at Charis College. Andrew teaches a few classes but very few. Their focus is making disciples for Christ. People who have studied the OT and NT. A Christian lifestyle is stressed, that one is a good witness for Christ. They are not into training to become pastors. Their business program (third yr.) is taught by successful Christian businessmen, etc.
The second yr. students go on a 2 week foreign mission to witness and make disciples. Two yrs. ago it was Russia. It was very cool. The students did role playing and singing, in the streets of St. Petersburg.
So far we have been pleased with the amount of in-depth Bible study in the classes.

No, not Andrew Wommack. But I do like Andrew. I've listened to him on the radio for a looong time. God bless his ministry.
The message speaking to my heart was just one of those things, it has happened quite a few times and in different churches even...but this time that I speak of, whoa, it was like you say, almost like someone had clued in the Pastor on what to preach on and direct it to me. It was, boom, right at me (my heart).

Andrew Wommack is affiliated with Charis Christian Center here in the Springs, and they are building (have built?) a bible college close, up in Woodland Park, Colorado. So he is active here, but is not the Pastor of either church. I went to CCC a couple times, but the Spirit led me to Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel.

I go to Calvary Chapel, same way of teaching.
It's the best I've ever had.

Yep. I agree. Very good. They had another Pastor, years back, I forget his name, but he was very good, and I listened to him on the radio while driving around working...Something happened though, he...backslid a little and got into a little trouble with his wife and church, and then moved to Nevada for awhile...But I hear that he's back, though I don't know where.

Dangit, I can't remember his name!

I am glad that you are having such a good experience with Calvary Chapel. They are very diverse I know that because they are so loosely connected. Remember the incident I told you about with the sheriff, that was from a Calvary Chapel church. Some are good, some are bad.
