Coronavirus

These masks aren't donated...they were bought and paid for. But they weren't what the manufacturers claimed them to be.

Some masks were donated. Other masks were purchased. There were quality issues with many of both. 19 seems to have done a number on their factories. Issues getting them back on-line.

What good is a test that only works 30% of the time?

Not much. They don't have any real idea of what is going on over there, and they don't seem to be reporting to foreign researchers like they used to.

Everyone is a bit germaphobe at the moment.

The US has left itself vulnerable by allowing essential goods and meds to be manufactured elsewhere.

I would of thought the butcher would be classed as an "essential service" given that a third of our dietary intake requires protein.
Meat and fish are by far the best sources of protein

I don't get why people cannot catch fish from the shore line when they are more isolated than going into a shop and buying food.

The excuse is if something happens recuse would have to come save me and it puts them at risk, it's probably about the same odds of me slipping over at home on lockdown and knocking myself out and medics having to come assist me.

Well taking out a boat has a degree of danger, so does rock fishing.
Apart from that fishing from the bank is not dangerous...

Some folks, like myself, don't really have the knowledge, equipment or experience to effectively catch fish. Im also not a very patient person. I would rather set up some kind of trap, go off and do something else b4 coming to retrieve the bounty, or pull out an empty trap.

Alternatively i go to the fish shop... LoL... I know im lazy sometimes...☺

Someone who is isolated from others, on the shore line, with a rod in the water trying to catch food as an essential. Not everyone can afford to buy fish.

In a way you are right and yet wrong at the same time.
All countries are interdependent upon each other.
We all have different resources and labor markets. Trade makes friends. China has a large pool of low tech labor.
We have the best groceries for processed foods (feeds 60% of the world)
Japan has great automation for electronics.
Canada has forestry and plastics.

All interconnected and friends.
Beats the stew out of war and fighting for resources.

The world is just a mess.
