Coronavirus

Actually you, must file ,deadline in Apr 15,you,must pay in full by Oct 15 ,after which penalties apply.

Its not like I didn't ask and also talk to the irs about chapter 13

228,759 US cases.

New York alone has 92,381. New York all by itself has more infected than every other country in the world except for Spain and Italy, which have become horror shows.

Docs say the surge is still ahead for the US, and expect a lot of additional cases in the next few weeks.

At this level of contagiousness its going to be inevitable for everyone to catch this.
Currently we are seeing more and more essential services becoming infected. (Police, EMT, nurses, doctors, and others)
Many of the medical communities recognized this and have created two week rotations. But this only works with enough personnel. They are going to run out very soon.

Now from the vantage point of my apartment I can view a hospital. It isn't busy whatsoever...waiting for the avalanche. I seen the isolation tents at the doorways.
Currently Vanderbilt university hospital(downtown) is claiming the lion's share of covid-19 testing and treatment. (They have the resources) But they are also billing for the administration of the tests (test itself is free) at $1,100 per test.

I don't know what Memphis is doing...the other hotspot.

The positives and presumed positive cases are increasing by the hundreds every day...not going to stop.

The deaths are so tragic too...completely isolated from family and loved ones. (Family can be annoying...mine especially) I've been told the stories from people I know.

This thing seems to be a form of Russian roulette...you really don't know how you catch it or what it is going to do to you when you do.

Unfortunately for me all my insurance is with Vanderbilt...cant visit the hospital across the street.

Projections are 40 to 70%. Once a certain percentage of the population is immune, viruses can't easily spread anymore. Its called herd immunity.

They are being given priority for tests and treatment, in an effort to keep them in the field.

But this only works with enough personnel.

People are being retasked to 19 duty. An example is surgeons being retrained as nurses for the emergency.

They are going to run out very soon.

Armies of unemployed citizens can be hired to fill the gap, but it will take time to train them.

But they are also billing for the administration of the tests (test itself is free) at $1,100 per test.

Lots of highly skilled personnel are needed, along with lots of expensive personal protective equipment.

Not for awhile. Its projected to peak in a month or two, as long as social distancing is maintained. Its what happens when people try to go back to normal that is uncertain. Will it start up again?

The troops need a lot of modern equipment to fight the enemy effectively. Because they lack tests, masks, and such they are limited to using the stone age technology of telling people to stay 6 feet away from each other. It could be a long running battle if they don't get some modern ammunition built. They lost the battle to contain 19 at the airports and ports, and are now desperately trying to flatten the curve.

Have you looked at those telling the truth about the recovery rate?
IOW it takes a while for some to have symptoms but they spread the virus unknowingly.
Then it takes weeks to become "cured"...
Infections are happening faster than recoveries. And many who feel recovered are still infectious. It might be the cheap tests but it also might mean that these people will never be virus free.

Staying cooped up... gonna drive me batty.

Being sick for two months is not my idea of a good time.

Kiwi is a New Zealand bird. Google for an image . It's really cute. April you wl love Him.

Really? Interesting. Yeah, I just got back from a walk a little while ago and I'm getting ready to go for another one, but I really miss socalizing with my neighbors. At least the one good thing about this is people will learn to start spending time together as a family. :)

Of course, I've always known how to do that since I was a little kid. My family really loves playing board games. It's really sad that that has seemed to become a thing of the past. :sad

Still, what we need is vaccines available to everyone. It's springtime almost summertime, and I really want to spend my time at the beach and at baseball games, not cooped up in the house. :sad

Just to clarify:
I havent been overseas since 2012.
I havent been to China since 1990 and that was mainly Shanghai. Never been to Wuhan.
Never been to Italy.
I havent been out of my city since Christmas . And that was just to a beachside rental 3 hours drive away.
My lifestyle is pretty similar to lockdown anyway.

sorry. you must feel annoyed. we feel the same towards cruise ships circling our shores like covid 19 sharks.
They will add to the problem ,not, annoyed just realizing they need help but we may not have the ability .the port of everglades is way south .I,think, that is near ft.meyers

Wow! Seriously? LOL!! You know, I heard there's a delay on tax paying this year. I don't have to pay any since I'm currently unemployed but that's nice for workers who can't really afford them at the moment. I only hope and pray that once this thing is over and if it comes around again that we can be more prepared with a vaccination next time.

I'm guessing about 90% of the country is not paying taxes. Most of those small private business and company's that employ people who pay income tax that fund most essential services like health, education, and welfare, are shut down.

I was going to add a bit to this. At least I'm still going outside for walks and I can talk to my neighbors at a distance, but it still isn't the same as being allowed in close distances with people. I think I'm going to get my bike out of the garage next month.

At least I also got the Easter egg dye and all of the chocolate even though Christ will have risen with or without them (and my salvation is a LOT more important to me anyways although the other things are nice and fun) which is why I'm still celebrating Easter on this board. (And hoping that I will have enough participants for my virtual Easter egg hunt.) Also, it better be back to normal by July, as I really want to see my fireworks!

I don't know, that's a really good question but my question is why are they taking so long to get everybody who's sick tested, and everybody who's not vaccinated?
