Court in Heaven?

I think so and when the prosecution comes before the Judge the case is thrown out. Case dismissed.
The prosecution states the case and demands the death penalty. The Judge agrees and then takes his cap off, steps down and states " I paid the price the death penalty has been executed on behalf of the defendant"

Now leave the courtroom CASE DISMISSED.

There is court in heaven, right?
Scripture says satan accuses us day and night...(Revelation 12:10)

Soo...I'm thinking courtroom setting.
Is this right?
This should be interesting.
I am already learning.
I am already out of synchronization.
Oh well.

No court in heaven, but Satan is still in heaven as he hasn't been cast out yet. He stands before God accusing those here on earth who are asking for salvation as he loves to remind God of our sinful state that we should be judged and condemned, but Jesus as our mediator before the Father hears our prayers of faith and pleads our case as only He and God knows our heart.

It's like Satan saying : "Hey remember in the past that Joe did such and such, but Jesus telling Satan grace has pardon their sin as they are remorseful and have repented through faith in believing in me and asking me into their life.

It still makes me feel a little funny to think about God & satan standing there talking about me...and me not there.

Is there a type of courtroom etiquette there? I bet there is.

A lot of Divine Head Games back and forth. I find Satan's dialog with God regarding Job exceptionally interesting. I've also spent a lot of hard earned money in litigation and appreciate the finer details in the arena on the theology side, law, etc. The Law in scriptures is quite an amazing undertaking.

Zechariah 3:1-6 (NLT Study Bible Text,)
Cleansing for the High Priest
1 Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”
3 Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. 4 So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”
5 Then I said, “They should also place a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the Lord stood by.

Our filthy rags have been taken off and we have been clothed with the garment of Christ and his righteousness.

Our filthy rags have been taken off and we have been clothed with the garment of Christ and his righteousness.

As an attribution of Christ at this point. Yet not fully realized.

Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Just a footnote. Not meant to offend anyone.

I say, "No." Because a scene like that would be to put Christians in a position to have to stand there, naked and fearful... wondering if we are going to be condemned to burn or not........ just hoping Jesus will choose to bail us out. And something like that goes against what the Bible declares is our relationship with Him.

Would y'all mind if I try to open chapter 12?

I have debated in my mind if posting would work here. I will try, but tradition is tough to fight.
Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

I can supply scriptures ( most in chapter 12) for what I am about to say.

Satan was in heaven before the throne, but when it was finished on the cross ( then he could be moved).

Moved where?
To earth verse 12
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

This will all be difficult. It dodges from creation to Moses to Jesus's birth back and forth wide open. If you have pre accepted doctrine, you can tell me so, and I will not continue.

I can see some things.

Carman - The Courtroom

If tonight you stood in Heaven's court to seek eternal favor
Would you face Jesus Christ as a Judge
Or would you face Him as your Saviour?
There are many who don't quite know for sure
What that verdict would be, if ever
So let's imagine for a moment
You are standing dead center
In the Courtroom of Forever

Sitting before you is a structure, massive and intense
It's here your fate will be determined, before this Judge's bench
Then a voice booms, "This Court's now in session"
And your adrenaline starts to rush
Peering down with eyes that see through your soul
Is God the Father, your Judge

Then off to your left, across the room
Is the virtual silhouette of sin
Stepping out of the shadows of condemnation
Your worst nightmare walks in
On his face is the smirk of evil incarnate
His mind fixed on your destruction in Hell
You've just been introduced to you prosecuting attorney
None other than Satan himself

The Bible says he's the accuser of the brethren
So guess what he's gonna do
He's gonna accuse you of your sins
And he knows them all, both the old ones and the new
He's prepared his case for years, now the golden moment is his
So in arrogance he presents his case to the Judge
And it comes out sounding something like this

"God, you see this worthless piece of trash over here
This one is a sinner to the core
This one's commited adultery, cursed his neighbors, stolen money
Been into drugs, alchohol and even more
This hopeless wretch has even slandered friends
And by the guilty face, this whole courtroom can tell
That to a moral certainty and beyond any reasonable doubt
This one deserves eternal judgement in Hell"

The words of accusation still echo
Your every sin thrown up in your face
Then God opens the book where every deed is recorded
And reviews your records of disgrace

God says, "The Book says you did this, this
And this and everything you were accused of today
Now before I sentence you to Hell forever
Are there any last words you have to say?"

Now if it's true you're standing there in the Courtroom of Eternity
With God to your front and Satan-the-prosecuter to your left
There's one remaining eternal truth, one that's crucial to remember
One you should never, ever, ever forget

That on the other side of the Courtroom
I said, on the other side of the Courtroom
You ain't hearin' me tonight

I said, on the other side of the Courtroom

Is the one and only Son of God, revealed in time and space
And he's your defense attorney who has never lost a case
It's not Buddha, Muhammad or Krishna
Or any others who succumb to death
Ladies and gentlemen, on the other side of the Courtroom
Is Jesus Christ of Nazereth

Then Jesus jumps up, says
"Wait a minute, Judge, now I've got somethin' to say
May I remind you that on a cross 2000 years ago
I washed his sins away
I was crucified, I died, they put me in a tomb
But long about the midnight hour, the power of God hit me
And I walked out of that grave, alive
And well with resurrection power"

Then the Devil says, "It's in the book
It's written in the book, check the book"
God said,"Okay"
Then He takes the book out, lays it open and says
"Now we'll see what this book has to say"

He turns to the first page, the second page, the third
By the fourth, the Devil seemed shook
God closes it, says
"The blood of Jesus must've worked
'Cause there's absolutely nothing in this book"

The devil says, "Now what a minute, check that book again
All his sins are written down, they're all right there"
God says, "Devil, maybe you're mistaken all together
Maybe it's this other book down here"

Devil cries, "No, not that book, not that one"
God said, "Devil, why you so uptight?"
God sets the book down, the dust flies
And on the cover it says, "The Lamb's Book of Life"

Is your name in that book?
Is your name in that book?
Is your name in that book for sure?

If you've been forgiven and your name is written
Then raise your hands, praise the Lord

Yes, my name's in that book
My name is in that book
My name is in that book tonight

I've been forgiven and I know my name is written
In the Lamb's Book of Life
My name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life

I might suggest a more valid approach.

Plead guilty and expect to receive Gods Eternal Mercy.

just hoping Jesus will choose to bail us out. And something like that goes against what the Bible declares is our relationship with Him.
Heb 4:14 Having, then, a great chief priest passed through the heavens--Jesus the Son of God--may we hold fast the profession,
Heb 4:15 for we have not a chief priest unable to sympathise with our infirmities, but one tempted in all things in like manner--apart from sin;
Heb 4:16 we may come near, then, with freedom, to the throne of the grace, that we may receive kindness, and find grace--for seasonable help.

Heb 9:11 And Christ being come, chief priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands--that is, not of this creation--
Heb 9:12 neither through blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, did enter in once into the holy places, age-during redemption having obtained;

Heb 9:15 And because of this, of a new covenant he is mediator, that, death having come, for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those called may receive the promise of the age-during inheritance,

Heb 9:26 since it had behoved him many times to suffer from the foundation of the world, but now once, at the full end of the ages, for putting away of sin through his sacrifice, he hath been manifested;

I might suggest a more valid approach.

Plead guilty and expect to receive Gods Eternal Mercy.
Considering my propensity to put my foot in my mouth, I am inclined to close my mouth and let the perfect Mediator/ Advocate/ Litigator , plead my case.
.............

My view is...He is not sitting on a throne in heaven, not working. He is on a daily bases pleading the case for all of those in Him. By this we know that we can today, tomorrow, and each day there after, come boldly before the throne of grace, where He is forever our Advocate.
1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin: and if any one may sin, an advocate we have with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one,
1Jn 2:2 and he--he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world,

It still makes me feel a little funny to think about God & satan standing there talking about me...and me not there.

Is there a type of courtroom etiquette there? I bet there is.

That's why God is our judge and Jesus our lawyer as they will never lose someones plea for Salvation :sohappy

he can only accuse /harass rev 12 Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11 And they {"overcame him" because of the blood of the Lamb} and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even [e]when faced with death. 12 For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who [f]dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

Interesting! Do you think there's a type or shadow here? Are we (in spirit) there now, in our clean clothes? (white robe?)...In the same way perhaps, that scriptures says, even now we are seated with Him in heavenly places?

I've seen Carman do this in concert and it is so emotionally overwhelming as I saw so many come to the Lord through the talent God has given this man as Christ works through him.

Revelation 12:1
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

I understand from the wise men at Jesus's birth, that the stars contain information. IMHO the stars speak of Jesus.

So starts the beginning of chapter 12. The words of prophecy are another way we know of the promised Messiah. Dreams revelations too.

The physical creation
The metaphysical explanation
The prophecy
The acts of Jesus

Doesn't Jesus say in Mathew 5:21-26 that not only are we not to murder but also not to be angry with one another or even call one another a fool, or we'd be in danger of judgment. And elsewhere didn't Jesus say that what goes into our mouth's don't defile us but what comes out of it does? It would seem that everything we do and say is recorded in one way or another. If it's not a courtroom, then it's a committee of judges, or a congressional of everyone with the judge listening and reading all the testimonies and evidance. After all when Jesus sends out the desciples to teach that the kingdom of Heaven is near, Jesus also instructed them what to do if a city refused them, and that a better fate would come to sodom and Gomorrha, (or was it that Sodom and Gomorrha would speak against them? I'm trying to remember.)

In the discription said of the courtrooms that I hear, it sounds privite. With God, Jesus, and the devil, determine our fate. What if it's not like that though? What if it's more like a large body of people, and possibly angels and spiritual entities along with God. And when God seperates us like He seperates the sheep from the goats, those He will favor on one side, and those He will condemn on the other. It sounds like it's not a privite courtroom at all. If it's like a courtroom to begin with. (I mean there is a possibility that it's a court room based on so many of these discription so, but also it could be much more like something else. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what else it could be, but that doesn't mean that after we die there isn't something more hopeful then a court for our fate.)
