Covid Vaccine, a Gospel imperative

No, I just wanted to be sure that people knew that Florida is not okay.

I'm not living in fear, I am vaccinated, wear a mask and take precautions. I have been to theme parks, etc.

What I do have is a respect for the virus. Not in the same way one would respect a person, but I know what it can do as I have seen it first hand. So, I do what I can to mitigate my chances of contracting it.
Be honest what you mean when you say respect for the virus really means you fear the virus may hurt you.
What's wrong with Florida?

As a whole, the state is literally drowning in Covid!

The coronavirus is running rampant in Florida as case numbers climb to an all-time high and hospitals start to fill up. On Sunday, approximately 1 in 4 hospital beds in the state had a COVID-19 patient in it.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 23,903 new coronavirus cases in Florida on Friday, the state's highest single-day total since the start of the pandemic.

Two days later, numbers from hospitals reporting to the Department of Health and Human Services showed Florida's inpatient beds at more than 83% occupancy. As of Sunday, 13,793 coronavirus patients accounted for 24% of the state's inpatient beds.

Florida has become the new epicenter of the country's coronavirus pandemic as the highly contagious delta variant triggers a surge in cases nationwide.

COVID-19 patients currently occupy 19% of ICU beds in the United States; in Florida, it's almost 44%. And only about 11% of the state's ICU beds are available, for the time being, compared with 26% nationwide.

Florida has also seen a rise in cases among children with at least 135 of them hospitalized with COVID-19, as NPR previously reported.

Now you're putting words in my mouth and that's not very nice.
"And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth".

Your point is?

if you were ordered to take anthrax shots under that same wordimg and got sick from it ,you wouldn't say that ,I know a few and I was made too get it .

my case is so mild ,I can easily go on a run . asthma is not changing it . no fever ,no oxygen level drop .taste is much better .

for me its mild .it might have been the vaccine
Yeah, I don’t know why all the worry from people that received the vaccination. If they get Covid, it’s very mild which shows just how effective the vaccine is at preventing serious illness. It annoys me when vaccinated people live in fear of being a breakthrough case. Some sound like they will die. In your case, is is any worse than a cold?

My Dad got Covid 2 months after his second shot. We found out when he went in for kidney failure and as part of routine, he received a Covid test. The doctor told me point blank that he had zero symptoms of Covid and there was zero issues due to Covid.

could it be gasp, someone might have covid ,be a health care worker and deal with covid and in between .

I fit having it .opinions will vary ,some emotional based ,some fact based .

I have trust issues with the media and the federal level .the vet in me .

asthma like ,I get this internal mucous drain that chokes me and I have to sit up to clear it .

i think that because given I got covid last Friday and I had the shot on the 30th of July that I had any protection .

moderna phase one

I wear a mask even though I am vaccinated, not because I live in fear, but because as I mentioned in other posts, I have family members at home who Covid can be a real problem for them, vaccinated or not. My ex-wife is not vaccinated yet. Her immune system is also gone from the last multiple sclerosis drug that she tried. I really don't want my kids to lose their mom. I also have to wear a mask for work anyway, so it's not a big deal to me and has become just part of my day when I go out.

This is a good point. One thing that does seem to be prevalent is those that have been vaccinated, although not 100% guaranteed, are far less likely to be seriously infected by the virus so getting the vaccine protects the one vaccinated. There is evidence that vaccinated persons may still be able to infect others but those who are not vaccinated are the most likely at risk of serious consequences. Bottom line is, those who choose not to get vaccinated are taking the higher risk but it is their risk.

I understand. I wear a mask when I have to! I have been working from home since the pandemic began and just recently went back to the office. I only have to work from the office twice a week. We are mandated to wear masks at work now that the CDC recommended it. There are three groups.
1. The ones that wear N95 masks.
2. The ones that wear the company provided masks.
3. The ones that wear the company provided mask anytime they’re not at their desk…. Or the boss is in the vacinity.

I fall in the third group lol. I don’t like wearing a mask, but I did wear one out of concern for others before I was vaccinated and the CDC recommended it.

I probably have the wrong attitude, but I figure it this way. Anyone who wants a vaccine can get one anytime. If I am a breakthrough case, I know I will be fine. For those that have not received the vaccine, they understand the risks. It’s on them to protect themselves. The responsibility does not fall fully on me.

That’s why I preach early care. Again, if symptoms are worse on day 5 Thant they were on day 3, regardless if day four was a good day or not, the patients likelihood of Covid Pneumonia(which is what will kill you) is extremely probable. Wait till day 8 to go in and you have a good chance of going on a vent, or oxygen at the minimum.

If people understood this, they would go in by day 6 and save themselves a predictable misery or death.

Basically, most people feel better at day 5 and there is no need for the hospital.
