Covid Vaccine, a Gospel imperative

This is a good point. One thing that does seem to be prevalent is those that have been vaccinated, although not 100% guaranteed, are far less likely to be seriously infected by the virus so getting the vaccine protects the one vaccinated. There is evidence that vaccinated persons may still be able to infect others but those who are not vaccinated are the most likely at risk of serious consequences. Bottom line is, those who choose not to get vaccinated are taking the higher risk but it is their risk.
I agree, and the risk of death is low for the unvaccinated. I believe the average is 2 percent. Still, that’s two people out of a hundred. That means four people in a 200 member congregation will die and that’s sobering when you think of it like that, so it’s certainly something to contend with.
Again, early treatment can save these four lives.

BTW, since I have been vaccinated, if I were to be a breakthrough case, the likelihood of being contagious is very low.

asthma like ,I get this internal mucous drain that chokes me and I have to sit up to clear it .

i think that because given I got covid last Friday and I had the shot on the 30th of July that I had any protection .

moderna phase one
Yeah, it takes about 10 days, if I remember right, after your first shot for your body to mount a strong immune response. I’m sure the vaccine gave your body a good head start.

The virus is so stinking unpredictable. Some people without the vaccine get it and they have no symptoms. Others get it and die. There is still so much that we don’t know.

Anyway, I’m really glad your doing good!

I made the point that I am in the highest risk of getting sick and dying if I'm vaccinated.
I see no reason to increase my risk needlessly.

Update:
I was just notified moments ago that a very good friend of mine just lost his son to Covid. 😢

His son was 40 and lives in Tennessee. My friend headed down yesterday.

As I said earlier, if your in that 2%, it’s more than just a statistic. I don’t know all the details, but I will in the coming weeks.

According to data from Johns Hopkins University as of July 23, the known survival rate for Covid-19 patients is approximately 98.2%, however, because the true number of infections is much larger than just the documented cases, the actual survival rate of all COVID-19 infections is even higher than 98.2%.

This is one of the unknowns. From WebMD....

"But we don't yet know whether a vaccinated person with a breakthrough infection may still be contagious to others.

For that reason, the CDC says that fully vaccinated people still need to be tested if they have symptoms and shouldn't be out in public for at least 10 days after a positive test."

It is deeply misleading to present things this way. Yes, the vaccines carry risks - we all know this.

The responsible way to look at this is to contrast the risk of getting the vaccine vs the risk of not getting the vaccine.

This is not even remotely debatable - both sides need to be examined.

The information comes directly from the CDC.

If you don’t trust the information they provide, whose information are you promoting?

Like the statement says, the reports of problems with the vaccine are growing daily; some fatal.

I suspect that is why there is such a push to force everyone to get the vaccine before all the reports of fatale side effects can’t be covered up any longer.

So your in the CDC’s exception list that basically says you should not get the vaccine?
In Texas, since February of this year, of the 8787 people completely vaccinated, at least 43 have died.
Of that number, 95% were white males over 60.
That's me.

First, you are not addressing my question. Let me repeat:

What actual evidence is there that Dr. Fauci lied?

This is a very simple, clear, and understandable question.

Second, I am not qualified to debate the science and I suspect neither are you. The simple truth that you are faced with is this: the overwhelming majority of qualified experts recommend the vaccine, even though we know the vaccine is not perfectly safe.

You have me mixed up with someone else. I never mentioned anything about Fauci lying.

Again, here is my question to you.

  • What actual evidence do you have that injecting people with this COVID vaccine is safe?

The CDC report plainly indicates the vaccine is not safe and can cause heart problems that lead to heart attacks and strokes.

DIRECTLY FROM THE CDC. —

CDC Monitoring Reports of Myocarditis and Pericarditis
CDC has received increased reports of myocarditis and pericarditisin adolescents and young adults after COVID-19 vaccination. The known and potential benefits of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the known and potential risks, including the possible risk of myocarditis or pericarditis.

Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). The inflammation can reduce your heart's ability to pump and cause rapid or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).

Infection with a virus usually causes myocarditis. Sometimes myocarditis can result from a reaction to a drug or be part of a more general inflammatory condition. Signs and symptoms include chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, and rapid or irregular heartbeats.

Severe myocarditis weakens your heart so that the rest of your body doesn't get enough blood. Clots can form in your heart, leading to a stroke or heart attack.

Pericarditis
is swelling and irritation of the thin, saclike tissue surrounding your heart (pericardium). Pericarditis often causes sharp chest pain and sometimes other symptoms. The chest pain occurs when the irritated layers of the pericardium rub against each other.

Pericarditis is usually mild and goes away without treatment. Treatment for more-severe cases may include medications and, rarely, surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment may help reduce the risk of long-term complications from pericarditis.

Why are you recklessly giving potentially fatal medical advice to the people of this Forum?

I suppose they are just trying to be safe. But if the likelihood of me catching Covid is low, and if I do catch Covid the chance of being contagious is even lower…. Then why am I required to wear a mask. Especially when it mainly puts the unvaccinated at risk…. Considering the overwhelming majority of the unvaccinated remain unvaccinated by choice?

I suppose it is mostly because it is the CDC's responsibility to provide what would be considered or believed to be the best thing for protecting others at this time and right now their more interested in reducing case counts. Naturally, as case counts go down, hospitalizations and deaths go down as well and vise versa. That's just a numbers game. If the hospitalizations and deaths drop off to virtually nothing or lower than those caused by the vaccines, then they can turn their attention to the risks from the vaccines. As the CDC has already noted, breakthrough cases are on the rise. What that will mean going forward is anyone's guess right now.

Falsehood - you have no evidence at all for this. Please us to any post where I have stated or remotely implied that I want people to be forced to get the vaccine.

You will not find one - please retract your false accusation.

No. As I said, I don't want any vaccine. As many others don't also. You and others, however, want us to get one even though we don't want one.

You try and use the 'love' of Christianity, as if we are not being Christian if we don't get the vaccine. You are trying to force us to get the vaccine.

Again, no, I will not retract anything I have said.

If you are not trying to force it on us, then be quiet. You got your vaccine.

Now gardesil under attack for causing several types of cancer.
Stay away from vaccines.
You are only asking for trouble.

And that means including percentages…
What is your point? Again, this is not really debatable - the experts recommend the vaccines.

People fool themselves into thinking they are in a better position to make decisions than experts - the issues here are complex and require specialized training to assess.

Now having said that, I politely suggest that when you look at the states where are things the worst now?

Answer: in the states with the lowest vaccine numbers.
