Creation and Earth's Age

Right.. and your statement of "beginning of eternity"... would make the Earth God.
Did God create the Earth? Then the Earth was not "in the beginning"... it was in the beginning that the Earth was created. Not the beginning of time... but the beginning of all things.

Yes, and the beginning of all things, before there was anything at all, goes back a very very long time. And that was the first night.

The earth was not the creator. That is similar to paganism, and that is verging on heresy and a denial of God.
And that is what you are saying you believe. Unless you clarify your position that the Earth was in the beginning.

This is getting out of hand. If you continue on that theme, I shall have no option other than to report you for calling me a pagan. GOD was in the beginning before there ever was any earth.

And God is eternal. The Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the ending.

So how can you say that "...the first night was from the beginning of eternity." post 159.
If the first night... which was after the Earth was created was from the beginning of eternity... Then the Earth is eternal... ergo... the Earth is God.

This is the natural logical outworking of YOUR statements not mine.
So if anyone is calling you a pagan it is you.

The earth was without form, void and dark.

Day One was as long as day seven is now. Very, very long.

But you mentioned that it existed from eternity past(my words) or the beginning of eternity(your words).
So that would put the age of the Earth as the same as the age of God.
How are you not saying that the Earth is equal(in at least one aspect) to God?

That is what you say there, and on that one point, I agree with you. God is from beginning to end.

Hi Cooper,

The first day was as long as the first night.

That's right! Evening and morning are the words God chose to define what we now call AM and PM. It divides the day into two equal halves no matter the season or time of year or operation of the sun. Neither do either of those abbreviations have anything to do with daylight and nighttime. After all, if you live on the same earth that I do, 1 A.M. is pitch dark and 1 P.M. is just about the brightest time of every day since the inception of the AM/PM designation.

So, God saying that there was evening and morning the first day doesn't mean that the morning was necessarily light daytime or that evening was necessarily dark nighttime. Therefore the sun and moon and all of the universal bodies have no bearing whatsoever on God's use of the words evening and morning. It is just God's design to divide each of our days here on the earth into two halves. One is called evening and the other morning. We still continue that design, but we now use the terms AM and PM and they are both translated in our speech as morning (a.m.) and evening (p.m.).

One of the major differences of Jewish culture and practice and understanding of God's design is that they still hold to the dusk of evening being the beginning of the next day and we don't realize that until 12:01 a.m.

God bless,
Ted

So the Earth was NOT created. If it is the same age as God... then on some level you are saying that God and the Earth are the same.
So that kinda makes you claim to be a heathen/heretic or pagan.
