Its not but I want to have faith in God 100% and have Him pick out the man.

I wasnt sure for a while what He wanted for my future. I just want to please Him and have Him pick out the guy. I want our wills to align.

So you believe it's God's will you have "the guy"?

I have worked with hundreds of people who prayed that if it was "God will" for them to have a man, women, house, child, sports car, scholardhip, job and etc for God to have the loan approved, the phone ring, the job offered, etc. Then when the divorce, bankruptcy, drug addiction and abuse occured they could do what Adam did in the Garden and say Hey God this women YOU gave me made me sin. It's all God's fault.

Well it most definitely won't be His will if I don't pray about it and let Him do the work.

I think some folk here maybe haven't dated yet. For others of us, all that 'stuff' is way in the past. We need to learn to trust God at whatever stage of life. Blessings.

I like your attitude Jesus'sGirl about wanting to be in God's will. I know God is so faithful no one goes wrong by trusting in Him. It could be possible He even puts it on your heart to do something different or feel for someone different. I am just learning to seek God first in all things. Thank God for the Bible.

There once was an old man who had great faith. He lived in a fllood-plain. One day after a particularily hard rain, a Ranger pulls up in front of the house in a 4x4. The Ranger tells the old man that a great flood is coming, that he needs to evacuate. The old man insists on staying saying, "I have faith! God will save me from the flood!" The Ranger argues, but to no avail, and finally leaves to save more sensible people.

The next day, the floodwaters have covered the old man's yard, and are lapping at his porch. The same Ranger pulls up in a john-boat and begs the old man once more to evacuate. The old man remains firm, saying, "I have faith! God will save me from the flood!" The Ranger argues to no avail, and finally leaves.

The next day, the floodwaters have covered the 1st and 2nd stories, and a helicoptor flies in to hover over the old man perched upon the roof. The Ranger yells to the old man, "Climb up! We need to get you out of here!" Once again, the old man replies, "I have faith! God will save me from the flood!" As they argue, a wave sweeps the old man off the roof and he drowns.

The old man arrives at the gates of Heaven, and is greeted by the Angel Gabriel. The old man says, "I want to speak with God." Gabriel smiles and says that God wants to talk to him, too. The old man is ushered into the presence of God, and says, "Lord, I don't understand! I had faith that you would save me! What happened?"

God looks at him, sighs, and says, "I sent you a 4x4, a boat, and a helicopter, what more did you want???"

Question: Why not invite the man to attend some Church activity with you or get one of your guy friends at church to invite him?

I guess we should just agree to disagree. I am going to rely on God.

Do you know what's funny! Even on a forum I cannot hide that I am old. LOL see post 48.................

'Old' is comparative. You referred to my post.

PS: P31Woman: I still hesitate about the word 'old', there, but I like David's comment in one of the Psalms: 'I have been young, and now am old, but I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread' (Psalm 37.25).

Blessings.

How should a girl handle really liking a guy and caring about him? I don't want to be the pursuer so should I just pray and ask God if he is the one He wants me to be with?

You are 21 and not a teenager. Try to get to know him. Compliment him on clothes etc. Break the ice. At 21 you should be making friends. (I got married at 21).. Wont advise that for you. This is the time you should be making friends of the opposite sex.. The traditional thing is for boys to talk to the girls first, but there is nothing which says that a girl cannot approach a boy. Don't try to pressure him to talk. Just be natural. Ask God to give you the courage to talk to him. God is all knowing and he knows the beginning from the end. As you pray you will be assured. Don't be disappointed if he does not want to talk to you or be friends.... This is a learning period in your young life....By meeting different friends you will be able to see the differences, attitudes, etc... so that as you go through life you will be able to make the right choice. Hope all works well. Will keep you in my prayers.
