Growth Daily Verses

John 15:12-13 "My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

Scripture Of The Day - CONSUMED IN HIM

"...Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning? Those who walk righteously and speak what is right....their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them. Your eyes will see the King in His beauty and view a land that stretches afar." - Isaiah 33:14-17

The "everlasting burning" in this verse is not Hell, but rather is speaking of God. God is an all-consuming fire, and we are to become ignited so that we are fully consumed in Him. We are to become like Him by allowing the fire of God to consume all darkness and flesh so that we will walk righteously, speak truth, reject evil, and begin to dwell in the high places.

"The fire of God is the fire of love as well as the fire of purity; a fire that blesses and quickens, as well as a fire that destroys and consumes. So the Apostle John comes with his answer, not contradicting the other one, but deepening it, expanding it, letting us see the foundations of it, and proclaiming that as a holy God must be surrounded by holy hearts, which will open themselves to the flame as flowers to the sunshine, so a loving God must be clustered about by loving hearts, who alone can enter into deep and true friendship with Him." - Alexander Maclaren

THE MOUNTAIN WHERE GOD'S FIRE DWELLS

What is the answer that the Apostle John gives?
It is this: "...he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God..." - 1 John 4:16

This is the high place that He is calling His children to dwell in. He is calling us to come to the high place where we will encounter the "burning bush" of His love, which will consume and purify every dark place—igniting even the light within us with the fire of His love. You will become a person who dwells in the fire of God.

There is an invitation before each of us, right now, to come up to the mountain and ask for the fire to consume us. He will respond to our faith that says, "Yes!"

It was upon the mountain, where Moses stood before the burning bush that introduced him to I AM. It was there that Moses began his journey "to be the man who would set the captives free."
We too must ascend to the mountain of God to be consumed by Him and His love, so that we too will see our captivity overthrown; and we will be prepared to set the captives free. To truly love, we must become love and must be consumed by love.
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples." - John 13:35
This is good, thank you for sharing!

Luke 6:27-31 "But to you who are listening I say: love your enemies, do good to those that hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on the cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you."

Habakkuk 3:18 NKJV

''Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.'

When I can't sleep because of pain or sorrow I say my prayers, and then instead of counting sheep, I try to imagine heaven or the new earth.

A great peace comes over me because I know it is all beyond my imagination. What I imagine is Jesus in the centre. All the people at peace with each other, nobody is ill or in pain. Nobody is ever going to die. The animals are free and happy. How beautiful it all must be.

'When rough the path from day to day,
When sorrows fill our eyes with tears,
Our choice to find our joy in Christ
Can soothe our soul and calm out fears .'
Dennis J. De Haan

Luke 6:35 "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back, then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the most high, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."

Matthew 5:43-48 "You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect".

Proverbs 10:12 "Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs."

Another short, but simple and beautiful verse. For the world wold be a much better place if we could all just love one another the way that the Lord first loved us. :cross

Jeremiah 17:10 "I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds."

John 1:12 "But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." :cross

Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

I just had to quote that verse since it was read this morning in church. :cross

1 Timothy 1:17 "To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."

Here's a great (although late) Bible verse for the day. :) It also makes me think about the situation that I'm currently in with my fiancée. :yes

Psalm 118:5-6 "Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
