I would disagree. The devil would not be the cause of this but would put the temptation in front of you. At the end of the day we all are given free will and have the choice to do make the decision to go with the sinful route. That is why we need to pray on these decisions and follow the teachings of the bible for this. As for the example of losing your cell phone......That is just bad luck..

There are places prone to earthquakes. If you move there and there is an earthquake, you can't blame the devil. Blame yourself if you didn't prepare for the earthquake.
