Do those believing in “grace only” fear the Lord?

Yes, thanks, JLB.
I forgot to put in the OP:
True saving faith = deep heart-felt belief
+ enduring faith + strong trust + obedience

There is no word in any language which embraces
all of the above.

I'm hearing those cries again, "Please, no more!"

:salute

At the same time, I’m so greatfull and thankful for God’s grace and mercy in my life.

I CAN DO NOTHING WITHOUT HIM!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Yes, it's a co-operative effort ...
on the part of both parties of the new covenant.

The point being (as Steve Quayle always says) ...
that BACs have NO excuse for failing to satisfy God!

They have the indwelling Holy Spirit.
They are a new creation who does NOT have to sin.
They have the word of God.

If it wasn't for God's grace alone none of us would be here as it repented God that He created man, but did find favor in only one that afforded God's grace. By only one, grace is given to all mankind, Genesis 6:6, 7. It is by God's grace alone as being a free gift to all who will turn back to Him and fear (respect) Him as our part is to walk in all His commands and statures.

God does give us free will to accept Him or reject Him like those in the days of Noah. They refused to listen to the preaching of Noah that a flood was coming and they refused to listen to Jesus and the flood (not a literal flood) of God's wrath will sweep them all away as it was in the days of Noah when Christ returns.

Because, I do stand against almost all of today's churches,

I'm thinking that this is a really untenable position.

Where I'm rather picky when choosing a church to be my home church...I can find reasons to get along in just about any denomination and congregation.

So I'm wondering why you feel it necessary to attack those who might support you and befriend you and treat you better than family. Not just in words but in actions... because a day is coming that Christians will have to drop the denomination division and bunker and hunker together for survival.

Yes! We need to obey to enter the kingdom of Heaven! He who DOES THE WILL of the Father will enter the Kingdom. And He says "Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!" In Matt 5:17-19 it also looks like Jesus advocates keeping the parts of the law of Moses that apply to us today.. Thanks,

Greg

Amen.

Remember, Abraham walked in obedience to the voice of the Lord, 430 years before the law of Moses was added.

And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” Genesis 26:4-5

This is called the obedience of faith.

Faith comes to us by hearing Him.

Abraham was able to walk in obedience to His Voice because he walked in His presence.

He obeyed the covenant commandment to “walk before Me and be blameless.”

We have the same mandate today, with the same Lord:

Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16

Amein!! I think it involves certain things like 10 commandments, though, including sabbath.

Well,
I believe more than the average person does about the "Sabbath Commandment".

The placement of this commandment and the manner of which it is spoken of (singular instead of plural) shows that it was intended to mean the end of the Mosaic Covenant (including the Ten Commandments) and the institution of the New Covenant. (Which portions of the Ten Commandments did cover but is not understood by the Gentile world at large)

The New Covenant is all about the desire to commit sin... not so much the performance of the Mosaic Law...it is uncodified as it is impossible to tell two different people that one thing is lawful for one but not the other.

So to insinuate that some people are "more holy" simply because of what specific day of the week they go to church is exactly the behavior Christ condemned among the Pharisees.

Definitely the commandments.

It’s all about loving God and loving our neighbor.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

I believe those people(*) who are receiving God's warnings
for His sheep (who are members of Laodicean churches).
(*) I wouldn't dare call them God's prophets or watchmen!

A little snippet excerpted from one of those messages:
"shepherds leading multitudes to hell".

Truly, there are many reasons for why churches today
are leading the sheep astray.

IMO, home groups are the way to go!
No mortgages to pay, no salaries to pay, no greed issues,
no keeping up with the Joneses, etc. etc.

Not to say I've been to a mega church (or just large church) that I felt good at, but we can't really dismiss them by size alone. Jesus may have been the first mega church. At least when considering how many came to hear him speak and heal. Last time I went to a larger church than I felt comfortable in, it still wasn't a crowd of 5000 like the crowd that Jesus fed after He taught them for a long time.

What an incredible difference between NT times and today!
The Romans officers believed Paul without blinking an eye
... when he said he was a Roman citizen.
They were fearful of a serious reprimand for mistreating Paul.

No need for Paul to present a passport, etc.
Incredible ... didn't anyone lie back then?
Today, who wouldn't lie to try to avoid
being beaten and cast into prison, etc.!

But out of that 5,000 there were the two hundred that actually were faithful no matter what had happened.

I always find those who are the cultural Christian as well as those who take it to heart. Not everyone is the same. Not everyone has the same ministry or function. It requires a lot of people to make a complete community imho.
For you it takes a lot less.

Small group is where I find my personal connections with others...I'm messily in their lives and they in mine. (But not without permission) We gain strength in the numbers that way.

There aren't enough of us...not one can be afforded to be lost.
I think Jesus feels the same way.

Many did...and got found out.
But many of the mundane procedures we're left out of scripture. (Paper and ink were expensive)

And the centurion wasn't a fool either. Neither was Paul.

Welcome to CF :wave2 and may you find this forum a blessing to you :)

Amein!! I think it involves certain things like 10 commandments, though, including sabbath.

There are laws (commandments) of God that were especially written just for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite. Then there are the existing moral laws (commandments) for all of us to still follow as in prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood. The poor and unfortunate, treatment of the Gentiles, Marriage, divorce and family. Forbidden sexual relations, business practices, employees and servants. Vows, oaths, swearing, Court and Judicial procedures. Injuries and damages, property and property rights, criminal laws. Prophecy, idolatry and all its practices as the moral laws (commandments) keep us in line with the will of God. We need to present ourselves a vessel of honor that God delights in as we allow the light of Christ shine in us and through us. This is a testimony of Gods grace and mercy as it is not ourselves that do any good thing, but Gods Spirit working in us and through us as we surrender our will to that of Gods will to be done.

Yes Abraham was justified by obedience.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
