Do you have an Ichthus, or Jesus Fish, on your car. If you do, why? If you intentionally don't, why?
I do for two reasons. I admit I'm an aggressive driver, and it helps me be accountable knowing that I might put a blight on our faith if other drivers see it along with me "asserting myself" on the road. :D So, it has the effect of keeping me in check.
Also, when I see another car with one, I feel a sense of encouragement, like we're on this Road together. Perhaps others feel the same way when they see it on mine.
I guess this could be said of other Christian signs like window decals or bumper stickers.
I might be accused of being too sensitive, but I get a little put-off when I see it with "Darwin" in the middle and feet or a Darwin fish eating an Ichthus.
Some Christians believe that a second link between their religion and the fish symbol is seen in the Greek word for fish (ichthus, spelled: Iota Chi Theta Upsilon Sigma). That is an acrostic which has many translations in English. The most popular appears to be "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior" [Iesous (Jesus) CHristos (Christ) THeou (God) Uiou (Son) Soter (Savior)]
