Do you think our world now compares to the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah?

Billy Graham quipped long ago, that if God doesn't judge America soon, he may have to apologize to Sodom & Gomorrah.

I heard a sermon once where the Pastor (forget who) explained that S&G were not destroyed because of the homosexuality, for that's just another sin, but rather because of the public condoning it...
Anyone else ever hear that?

no, sodoma and gommorah were judged for pornia(think what is in porn) and also being greedy and how they treated the poor, the fatherless and the widows.

So by your description Jason, yes, the whole world today is exactly like Sodom and Gomorrah. Wall street, and its equivalent in every nation is greed epitomized. Porn, well no need to explain that one. Orphans and widows tossed out of their homes by the rich to make way for development, mass murder in the name of freedom or peace or religion, rape. The list of depravity is endless.
Every negative toy that satan throws out to tempt us, is eagerly consumed by the people of the world like a pack of rabid dogs on a rabbit. There's no hope for the world . There is only the hope and promise of salvation through repentance and the saving Grace of God through Jesus.
 
sodom was a city whose citizens worshiped the so-called "molech" - an idol and evil spirit that taught the people to seek the divinity through manly pride/lust so that the tradition of the cult was even that its worshipers treat the other men (who are not members of the cult) as women, insomuch that they even rape sexually them in order to prove and affirm their inordinate manliness/masculinity, that cult was popular in the region even centuries after God destroyed sodom and all its surroundings as well as it is visible in the book Judges 19:22-30, afterwards sodom turned into a symbol of the spiritual iniquity of small and medium level and of the inordinate manliness/masculinity as a means of achieving the objectives in the faith

Revelation 11:8 "the great city(i.e. the (system of the) human(666) religion/spirituality), which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified."
