Bible Study Does James 2 Teach Works for Salvation?

Agreed.
Verses 3 and 4 of 1 John 2 make it even more clear..."And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
Those who keep His commandments can say they have no sin, but liars can't.

So you agree that the blood of Jesus is to cleanse you of your sin today?

As He has paid for my sins, He was the propitiation for my sins.

If the blood of Christ washed away your sins, you can say you have no sins.
And you can keep saying it as long as you continue walking in God/light.

Perfectly true...for those walking in sin/darkness
They can't say they have fellowship with God either.

Those cleansed of all unrighteousness can say they have no unrighteousness.

All men sinned, with only a few exceptions.

The "anyone" are those still walking in darkness/sin.
Those in the light/God have already used the Savior's advocacy.

True, as those walking in the light/God, have confessed our sins and been cleansed so we can walk in the light/God.

Agreed.

So you agree that the blood of Jesus is for born again, water baptized Christians to be forgiven and cleansed of their sin… if they should sin?

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2

You're very welcome.
I like your car...
Thanks Wonder, long gone now, was very nice one that I profited on greatly, I purchased a 4 yr old 2013 Mustang convertible and a 2003 Jeep Liberty for what I sold the Ford for. I would have given difference for the Mustang, but ended up getting difference. I sold the Mustang as well a couple of years ago, but still have the Jeep. My wife agreed we should sell the Mustang, then was mad when I did. I do admit I miss it, but had to clean it every time you took it out, that is why I like my beater Geo Metro that I drive everywhere, I rarely even wash it.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins…
Amen, and thanks be to God.
Unfortunately, some believe that is an invitation to keep sinning, and He will keep suffering and dying over and over again for them.
It is written..."For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Heb 6:4-6)

We can say with confidence that the blood of Jesus cleanses the sins of those who walk in the light.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
It’s clear that the same ones who walk in the light are the same ones that have their sins cleansed.
If one is sinning, they are walking in darkness...not light.
God is light, and there is no sin in God.

So you agree that the blood of Jesus is to cleanse you of your sin today?
Of course not.
He already cleansed my sins.
His blood will, however, cleanse the sins of those who want to quit sinning and start their walks in the light.

If they sin, they were still manifesting they were NOT reborn of God's seed. (1 John 3:9-10)

The "anyone" are those still walking in darkness, but we have the Advocate who can change that.

If they sin, they were still manifesting they were NOT reborn of God's seed. (1 John 3:9-10)

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:9-10

What is born of God your spirit or your flesh?

Enoch didn't sin.
Elijah and John the Baptist didn't sin.
And anyone reborn of God's seed doesn't sin.
God's seed cannot produce liars, murderers, or thieves.

Please provide the scripture that says Enoch never sinned?

Amen now if you should sin, you can confess your sin and be cleansed of all unrighteousness.
I thank God that there is no sin in God, the light, wherein I intend to and am equipt to remain.
Thanks be to God that His seed cannot bring forth sinners. (1 John 3:9-10)

"Have been" cleansed of sins.
Confess and get washed so you too can walk in the light-God.
There is no sin in God, in whom I walk.

What is born of God your spirit or your flesh?
All of my old-self was destroyed at my water baptism into Jesus Christ, and into His death, burial, and His resurrection. (Rom 6:6, Gal 5:24)
I am, to the glory off God, a new creature now.
It is written..."Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor 5:17)
Aren't you "IN CHRIST"?

Please provide the scripture that says Enoch never sinned?
Heb 11:5..."By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."
As the wages of sin is death, (Rom 6:23), to not experience death is the witness of perfect union with God.

"Have been" cleansed of sins.
Confess and get washed so you too can walk in the light-God.
There is no sin in God, in whom I walk.

There’s no sin in God, but there is sin in you.

You keep trying to change what the scripture so plainly says.

Why?

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

Those who walk in the light are the ones who are cleansed of sin.

This truth will never change.

Heb 11:5..."By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

Plainly there is no mention of Enoch being sinless.

I guess you just make up whatever you want, and claim that is what the scriptures say.

Only Jesus was sinless, having never sinned.
