Ezk 29

as in Ezk 29: v 11 is their proof this v11 has happened

It depends on how you want to define terms. If you look at how the same hyperbolic apocalyptic language is used in Jeremiah 51 to describe Babylon's fate, or Ezekiel 12 to describe Judah's judgement, then one can appreciate that the 40 odd years of civil upheaval under a new pharaoh from Egypt's sacking by Nebuchadnezzar until Egypt's conquest by the Persians fits the same pattern. I believe there is historic proof that this biblical judgement happened to ancient Egypt in much the same way as it happened to Israel, Assyria, Judah, and Babylon.

After reading those two chapters I can see how this could have been fulfilled. thanks for the post. When I read 38 and 39
Egypt is not named as one of the countries to come against Israel so I thought this Ezk 29 may be going to happen. So then there must be another reason Egypt is not named in 38 and 39. Ill have to look for that now.thanks

Often Egypt represents the bondage of sin..
Indeed!

If we read Ezekiel accurately, we will see that the people of Israel who were captive slaves in Egypt were in fact captives of the great dragon, Satan, the devil.

In scripture there is always a "flesh" or "natural" showing first. So, we are treated to a natural or FLESH Pharaoh in Egypt, but the real evil spirit Pharaoh is the great dragon, the devil.

We are treated to "external showings" of internal realities in the O.T.

Or, as Paul delineates in 1 Cor. 15, first the natural, then the spiritual. Every account in the O.T. shadows spiritual matters, both of evil spirits and The Holy Spirit in engaging same, in oppositions.

Every Prophet of the O.T. spoke in similitude. That is the "Language" of God in Christ.

Hosea 12:10
I have
also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

In Gal. 4 for example, Paul takes the lives of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Hagar, Ishmael and THE LAW and states outright this statement of fact:

24 Which things are an allegory:

I see Ezk 38-39 as prophesy of the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.:twocents

That is a wonderful thing about the Word of God. It's message is presented in layers, both literal and allegory, allowing the reader to continue to learn and discover new revelation upon new revelation, even with a lifetime of study. From the same set of scriptures.

It's an amazing book and gets more interesting as you go along. It's vital to pray for enlightenment from the Holy Spirit before you begin to read, also. That's His job.

John 14:26
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you./

Proverbs 25:2
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter./

Sorry for the thread veer. Some of the talk got me thinking just how much of a blessing it is for us to have The Word. :study

The 'Churches' have yet to see that it is we who are to stand in line FIRST, to take the judgment of the end time.

1 Peter 4:17
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Excuses are close to their end point. We all tend to run away as fast as we can, to defer it. It will catch us, regardless, when the time comes.

IF we see our present temples accurately, then we'll know Judgment Falls.

Picture if you would, the tempter in the temple of flesh, and ask me if we should defer his due wrath? I'll say, NO.

2 Thessalonians 2:4
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God
, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

That is the picture of the JUDGMENT TEMPLE of our current flesh bodies, in which the tempter sits, currently unattended, largely unseen.

Paul asks us a question in Romans 9 concerning this matter.

What IF God is willing to show His Wrath? Are we willing to receive it? Even though we are NOT therein appointed, that does not account for all the parties in the flesh temple.

I for one look forward to the day of our TEMPLE CLEANSING, and hope to still be here on that Day.

But I have seen it in the Spirit, as to how this will transpire, with tears.
