False teachers

But you're not going to an interpreter of that passage. Your simply looking up word definitions so you can get a more thorough understanding of that passage. That's no different than learning basic word vocabulary and grammar. :)

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

Heidi you have been deceived. Your teachings are clearly false.

Actually, he probably got this from reference material of some kind that was written by historians or scholars that...you guessed it...have a degree by pursuing higher education. He is trusting in man and is therefor wrong and misguided according to you.

But women can prophesy. ;) Besides, Paul was talking about a church worship service. There's a hierarchy and protocol when people gather together to worship just like a courtroom setting. ;) In a courtroom, the judge determines who will speak and when. But outside of a courtroom or church, women are given vocal chords just like men are. I haven't been given a position of authority over you outside the church. So there's no reason to worry. I just speak the word of God and you can accept or reject whatever I say. ;)

That isn't what it literally says. I see you interpret when you feel like it.

Wrong again. I see you didn't quote it because it's you who is wrong. The only 2 places the bible talks about women being silent are talking about; IN CHURCH in:1 Timothy 2:1-15, the headline is; INSTRUCTIONS IN WORSHIP, and 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, the headline is; PROPRIETY IN WORSHIP.

So You really need to know the bible before you make claims you can't back up.

Heidi - these 'headlines' are not part of scripture - they are man's (or woman's) interpretation on what they believe the scripture says - just as you doing - giving your interpretation.

How about a little grace in what you say because I think your response of 'wrong again' or 'So You really need to know the bible before you make claims you can't back up' will only reinforce a man's belief that his understanding is correct.

Are you among those who alone have a perfect interpretation of all of scripture?

Wrong again. But if you don't believe me, then look at the context beneath the headlines in both passages to see that Paul is talking about what happens in a worship service. So try again. ;)

Heidi,

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Why does God love the world? Please quote me a piece of scripture that plainly explains this.

Grace and Peace

Jeff

Because God is love. He can't do anything but love. Isaiah 63"7, "I will tell of the kindness of the Lord,, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us-yes, the many good things he has done for the house of Israel."

So God doesn't love us because we deserve it, but because he can't do anything else but love. :)

Heidi, are you saying that God can't hate people? Because you said,

"he can't do anything else but love"

No only Satan can. God hates evil. So you have to put the bible together. God's wrath is just. So it's not the same as Satan's hate. :) Jesus tells us in Luke 15:26, "Anyone who comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters-yes, even his own life cannot be my disciple."

Yet Jesus also tells us to love everyone, including our enemies. So since Jesus doesn't contradict himself, then put the bible together. :)

God does hate wicked people,

The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. (Psalm 5:5-6)

The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates. (Psalm 11:5)

And does God "hate" them justly or unjustly? Love hates what is evil. That's how you put the bible together. :)

God is holy and righteous in all His ways (Psalm 99:3, 5, 9; 145:17), and God hates wicked people.

Also, true believers hate wicked people (e.g. Psalm 31:6; 139:21-22).

Excellent answer, because only love can change the world :-)

John puts it this way,

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
And again in verse 10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

So, God loves the world because God, being love loves us. Not because the world loves God, but because God is love and as such, loves that which he created. BTW, I believe God called his creation "Very Good" when he was finished.

Agreed, and he hates evil enough to do something about it ;)

No, we hate evil. We're supposed to love our enemies as God loved us since we were once his enemies as well and he loved us as Romans 5 explains. :)

Of the truth,

Who has said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
