False teachers

When Matthew 5:44 says "love your enemies", this is not a command to have an emotion, but rather action (e.g. 1 John 3:16-18). See Romans 12:19-20.

ofthetruth

Like I said, anyone can hate their enemies. Even unbelievers hate their enemies so why would it be such a surprise to find that King David hated his enemies?

Jesus says, "Love your enemies"... This is not a natural response to somebody who is trying to harm us... As Jesus said, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

What are the fruits of those whom have God's spirit? I didn't see hate on the list. ;)

Why did you edit your last post to remove the Psalm 139 reference? And you removed your statement about Christians being called to hate our enemies?

BTW, as far as your edit's go, yes, loving your enemy is a call to action as much as it is a frame of mind.

Matthew 7:41

I changed several posts. The last post I made explains "love your enemies". It is clear.

StoveBolts, you don't know the true Jesus of the bible, because if you did, then you would agree with me that true believers hate their enemies (as in Psalm 139:21-22). I hate the double minded (Psalm 119:113). I hate those who regard useless idols (Psalm 31:6). I hate the assembly of evildoers (Psalm 26:5). I hate every false way (Psalm 119:104, 128). I look forward to the day that God cuts off all flattering lips (Psalm 12:3). I say along with Paul,

If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord come! (1 Corinthians 16:22)

How do true believers love their enemies? Proverbs 25:21 says,

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;

Kinda a strong statement dont you think????????

because if you did, then you would agree with me that true believers hate their enemies

SO one must agree with you to be a true believer????? Well its nice to meet you Jesus Christ..... :wave

NIGHTMARE, you wrote,

"SO one must agree with you to be a true believer?????"

True believers believe the same things (1 Corinthians 1:10; John 8:47; 1 John 4:6). There is no "agreeing to disagree on doctrine". There is only one faith (Ephesians 4:5).

Ok so what makes you on the true believer side???????? We must agree to disagree or stay in petty fueds,,,,sometimes when teaching,,,the person is not ready to understand your words,,,,,does that make them not a believer?????? Of course not,,,,,its make them a growing christian (hopefully)....

"Ok so what makes you on the true believer side????????"

I believe the truth. The word of God says "He who is of God hears God’s words" (John 8:47).

I believe the truth also....But I guarantee :yes if we start discussing the word from front to back we will find differences,,,then what?????? If I believe Christ died for my sins and I repent,,,but I dont believe some of the garbage that is pushed out there such as,,,,,,All men come from Adam,,,,or,,,,,,,Eve ate a literal piece of fruit,,,,,or,,,,,some raputre nonsense.......Would these things overshadow my by believe in Christ,, to the point that one could call me a non-believer??????
I think not.......

If you don't believe in ALL of the word of God, then you don't believe in Jesus, because Jesus is the word of God (John 1:1; Revelation 19:13).

Genesis 3:6 says,

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

NIGHTMARE calls what the word of God says "garbage". NIGHTMARE said,

"but I dont believe some of the garbage that is pushed out there such as... Eve ate a literal piece of fruit"

The truth is, Eve did eat fruit. Clearly "NIGHTMARE" is NOT a true believer.

Hey! Tone it down a notch. Some are trying to rest in the Lord here.

Sorry but if you don't believe that Adam and eve were real then you can't believe that Jesus was real either because he descended from Adam. The genealogy is right there in the bible. You would have to make up ancestors of your imagination and thus a Jesus of your imagination other than the Jesus of the bible if you don't believe in Adam and Eve. "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and neither can a bad tree bear good fruit." The bible is thus, either good tree or a bad tree. You cannot believe that it is both or you're saying that Jesus is wrong and that a good tree can bear bad fruit. :ohwell

Did I ever say Adam and Eve werent real???????

Did I ever say Jesus wasnt real??????????

Why dont you slow down go back and read my post,,,,and then respond,,,,of course I believe in Eve and the man Adam,,,,(eth-haa-adam) formed after day 7.....Also the tree spoken of is the same tree of Ezekiel 31,,,,,also the tree spoken of is not "ets" a regular tree it is "Atsah, aw-tsaw, prime root, prop. to fasten (or make firm), i.e., to close (the eyes): shut." Under # 6095 Hebrew for trees in the garden)

The # 6096; "Atseh, aw-tseh, from 6095; the spine, (as giving firmness to the body):-backbone." This # 6096 "atseh" is the tree referred to in Genesis 3:3.

Yes, here:

But that's the problem when people tell lies. They've told so many that they forget which ones they've told!
