I believe in a flat earth.
Don't let this picture fool you.

The world isnt flat, if it was then gravity would be much higher for us and animals then it is now. Everywhere would have morning and night at the same time, if the earth was flat.

Do you have scripture to back that up?

Psalm 19:1, “The heavens [shamayim] tell out the glory of God, the vault of heaven [raqiya] reveals his handiwork.”

How do you interpret "vault"?

I just ran across this post....if you look at the N. Star...then walk south...and if the earth was flat ....it would not drop behind the horizon.

Can you prove that?
Have you done it?
Any live videos from your camera?
I'm interested to hear from you on this subject.
Does the earth really drop behind the horizon or does it just appear to do this?

The earth drops behind the horizon. How would it appear to do so if it was flat?

If you look down a hallway, a very long hallway, it would appear to get smaller and smaller until it disappeared.
Did it fall behind the horizon?

Every 10 miles or so you can measure the amount of degrees above the horizon the N. star is. Eventually the star remaining the same size and brightness will dip below the northern horizon.

If you like I can look on my astronomy program and tell you where that location on earth will be.

A light in the ceiling of a long hallway will not do that. Also, if I set up a telescope at the end of the long hallway I'll bring the light back into view....not so with the N. star. You'll need another example.

So science is your answer.
The name of the forum is Christianity and science.
So you have given me a half answer.
Let's hear the other half.

So far science is my answer...The way I currently see it is you have no answer for the N. Star setting problem.

The Bible doesn't really talk about it.

Some believe "circle" in Isaiah 40:22 can be translated as sphere. The argument is inconclusive.

It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

Okay, you believe in science.
Now you are committed to science since you are taking that side.
I'll remember that in the future.

Yes, don't forget it....science says the earth is young and we didn't evolve...so does the Bible.

When it comes to the shape of the earth..the Bible is silent.
