Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written.
Acts 15:14-15

Josiah was one of, if not the greatest king of Judah, except Jesus.
How come Josiah died?

Hint: ...Blessed be Egypt my people... Is. 19:25

Isa 19:25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Rom 9:24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Rom 9:25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
Rom 9:26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

Hos 1:1 The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
Hos 1:2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

The Scriptures ( 2 Kings 23:25) says that Josiah was the greatest king that ever had been or would be....Unfortunately, Manasseh sinned greatly against the God of Judah, and God would not stay His hand of destruction of Judah using Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt to meet with Josiah and kill him.

In Isaiah 19, Egypt serves the Lord and God blesses Egypt, Assyria, and Israel.

I'm not really clear on what your intention is by presenting these facts. Why don't you fill me in?

jethro the kenite. i would have to research what he believed and remember that god gave the torah to moses not jethro.

Good one! Fast too!

Nice point, Jethro wasn't given the law.

Melchisedec wasn't given the law either, First being by interpretation King of righteousness. He. 7:2

Neither was Abraham.

What saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him as righteousness.
Ro. 4:3

Knowing this, that the law wasn't made for a righteous man, but for unholy and sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine. 1Ti. 1:9-10

The hint, Egypt my people, is because... Necho spake, From the mouth of God, and Josiah wouldn't hearken to God's words, when spoken by an Egyptian, Necho.

Nevertheless, Josiah would not turn his face from him, but diguised himself, AND HEARKENED NOT TO THE WORDS OF NECHO FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD... 2 Ch. 35:22

Nice!

When Israel went into the promised land, they conquered Jericho. Their next battle was with the kings of Bethel, the house of God, and Ai; they killed the kings of Bethel and Ai: they conquered the land, but they couldn't find the entrance to Bethel for many years.

Moses wasn't allowed into the promise land; but, did you ever notice, Joshua was never allowed into Bethel, the house of God?

Who knows where to find the place, where a Gentile shows them how to get into Bethel?

Oh yeah! I almost forgot; when Jacob got to Bethel, the house of God, where he saw the angels acending and decending on a ladder, he wasn't in the wilderness like we see in all of the pictures... he was at a city, inhabited by Gentiles.

And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.

Hi Eugene, I've been studying it for a year or three. I've asked a question that is unanswered; but if you can think of anything that I might not have, please feel free to share your insights.

hhh - Forgive me brother, but I reckon I don't know what you're asking. I thought there were many non-connected thoughts stated or asked, so I'll just state here that Simeon's and Saul's appearances were synonymous some years after Pentecost.

Acts 13:1 "Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Nigerr, and Lucius of Cyrene and Manaen the foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

My question would be the significance of the people called Gentiles visited, to take out of them a people for His name. Is this His bride? What dispensation is this? Since the dispensation given Paul concerned things hidden from generations (Col 1:26), was it referring to things past of future? Was Simeon confirming that to come of Col 1:27? To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: I'll leave off here for the moment, or forever if this isn't what you have in mind. Thanks. :)

Hey Eugene, that's nice!
I don't see any difference in the word, dispensation; I only see one dispensation.
Your use of Col. 1:26-27 is beautiful! I would say, Simeon was at least in part referring to that mystery, when he mentioned God visiting the Gentiles.
Do you have anymore?

You have to realize that when Paul received a hidden dispensation, it was different than that any revealed prior to it. Other apostles and disciples had no indication that the Gentiles were to be included in the kingdom. Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Blessings in Christ Jesus.

Cool Eugene, but, the four times I find dispensation in my Bible, it is talking in the singular, about Paul... how do you see that as possibly being more than one dispesation?
Thank you for your time. I'm still getting high on your use of Colossians.
Can you please go any farther with that, off the top of your head?
It's dark here; I'll be looking closer at Colossians, and mystery in the morning.
I really appreciate your input!

Off the top of my head I reckon what I'm attempting to say is that in different times throughout history God dealt with different different ones in a certain manner He didn't necessarily repeat with others. There were different covenants. E.g., I don't have the promise given to Abraham in Gen 17:4 - As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Another will be the change to occur on the Lord's Day as John describes in Revelation starting with the viewpoint of Rev 4:1 - I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. At that moment present things pass and new things begin.

Examples
As to dispensations “The law of Moses” is not “A dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me? Both are God’s commissions to, or dispensations to different men for the time specified.

Eph 1:10 “the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ.” Can you see here the thought of a future time, compared to the dispensation to fulfill the word of God (Col 1:25) which was demonstrated with the completion of Paul’s epistles?

Think on this commission also as to a difference in what God does in Galatians 2:7. “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me (Paul), as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.”

Sorry I took so long in getting this posted.
