Click on my name, then my "homepage". It's an old book I used to have in my signature --- it's free on the Internet free of copyright due to it's age (written in early 1900's). That is, if you want to know about the birthright. (See also I Chronicles 5:2)

Thanks, I'll take a look and do some investigating on the author.
I really appreciate you responding.

You don't have to convince me Eprom61, about the promises to Israel. The bible has loads of such promises like you pointed out. But you'll have your work cut out for you to convince the
1) Spiritualizing replacement theologians, and
2) Preterists who somehow think this all happened already when I sure as shootin' can't find anything in history that fulfils half of these promises yet.
Well stated. And I do agree that Joseph's physical decedents are now mixed with the DNA of people from all over the world!

I know I keep saying this, but I must..........Judah and Israel are seperate....The nation of Israel is not the Israel in prophecy perse.....
Also it would be wise to do a study,on the prophecies concerning each different tribe!!!!
It would be an interesting study, but I think is really a different topic

the truth is that God is not a hypocrite i.e. He doesn't consider the flesh/outward when He decides, to Him there is no difference between britons, americans, germans, israelites, italians, spaniards, frenchmen, russians, etc., of course israel was the initial country (from) where the true God has begun His Testament of overall salvation unto abundant and everlasting life, but the lawful sons are only those who do not transgress the Holy Law of (the) faith, so: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."(Galatians 3:28)

1 Timothy 1:8 "But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;",

2 Timothy 2:5 "And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully."

the flattery is not a good thing (especially) when it indulges some iniquity

Blessings

Interesting logical fallacy you have here. While I think we all agree with the idea that there is no difference between Jew or Greek, what is the context of that verse? Are we talking about being one in Christ Jesus perhaps?

OK. The subject here at hand are promises to Israel (that's why this thread is titled as it is). It would be interesting to ask how you jumped from one subject to the next and "jumped to the conclusion" that just because all men are equal in God's sight that He cannot or will no longer give promises to Israel, which I'm taking the liberty of assuming that's what you meant. If not, then your comment is off topic. Apples and Oranges.

God has already given promises to israelites and this at least was before thousands of years, a different matter is whether they follow Him according to the current point of His plan, because the Lord Himself - Jesus Christ has given them a living example about this how the unsaved people must be saved perfectly, for He before their eyes: saved the perished, healed the sick, resurrected the dead, purged the unclean, cast out the evil spirits from the possessed, forgave the sinful, preached the good word to the religious and the seeking, etc., but what the israelites do now?! - this is the question to which they must give themselves the right answer and begin to work on it - not that we judge or defame them, but e.g. as many of their ancestors prosecuted many prophets which God sent to them, so we were also peached by people of judaism and banned from the previous web forum because of their instance, moreover they were messianic jews who fell against us only because we testified how Jesus is the only Lord, and we again repeat that this our testimony here in this thread is not against anyone of the human beings, nor we despise the jews, but why must some people who do not follow Jesus Christ according to His true Word be flattered?!, because such a treatment can provoke more pride in them, excuse us, but there were very haughty people among them - many people hanged on the God's testimony by us, and those jews ruined all whereby they only showed that they are sons of those who persecuted and killed the prophets and even the Lord Himself, but we again repeat that we do not judge them at all, only testify that if such people are flattered, then they can thus become more proud

Blessings

In regards to the land that God has promised Israel, Genesis 15:18 declares, "To your descendants [Abraham's] I give this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates (NASB)" God later confirms this promise to Abraham's son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob (whose name was later changed to Israel). When the Israelites were about to invade the Promised Land, God reiterated the land promise, as recorded in Joshua 1:4, "From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory."

With Genesis 15:18 and Joshua 1:4 in mind, the land God gave to Israel included everything from the Nile river in Egypt to Lebanon (North to South) and everything from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River (West to East). So, what land has God stated belongs to Israel? All of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised. Nor have they ever possessed all the land God has promised.

The promises made to Abram/Abraham are not completed yet. Truly Abraham's seed has made many nations, both his physical seed, which is the nation (family tree) of Israel, and his spiritual seed, which is all believers, Jew and Gentile alike. There can be no argument that Jesus has blessed the nations of the world. These are the promises fulfilled, at least partially, as Jesus' return will complete the promise of the blessing. That leaves the promise of the land, which Israel as a nation among nations has never fully possessed. So is God a liar?

Ridiculous! The promise will yet be kept, and at the end of the Tribulation, faithful and physical Israel, united in the flesh, will occupy the land.

Jos 21:43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
Jos 21:44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
Jos 21:45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

That still wasn't all the land He promised Abraham, and Israel failed to drive the Philistines and many of the Canaanites out of the land as God commanded. They failed utterly at being careful to follow His lead.

Well Numbers that is not how Josh 21:43 reads to me But hey each to his own :)
Show me where the Bible says Israel ever extended from the Nile to Lebanon and the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River, and we can talk. Your passage, also, only applies to the commands to Joshua in contesting the Promised Land, not the promises given to Abraham. One can see by comparing the land given to the 12 Tribes and the land as described in my post regarding the Abrahamic Covenant, the land given Joshua was no where near as big as the land promised the patriarch.

The passage stand in my thoughts .... We don't have to agree

The conclusion would then be ...some thing like ...Israel of today is not the land promised.... and all the prophecies connected to it are not correct.

Not quite. Israel of today is not the land promised, but it does include some of that land. And the prophecies are yet to be fulfilled.

It's not the Nile, but the 'river of Egypt'. As the Euphrates was called a 'great river', its reasonable to expect if this was about the Nile then it would also be called a 'great river', but its not, which leaves the 'river of Egypt' as a smaller river in the Sinai. David and Solomon's kingdom fulfills your criteria.

Ah, so ... some obscure, all-but-unknown little river in Egypt negates my question? Or do you simply not have an answer for it? Please ... show me.

sigh I will bite. why then do most Jews that I know that are saved never mention the idea of isreal's return that lead them to believe in God?
How come most jews that I know never mentioned the prophecy of any return is what got them saved. I know a lot and some of them are futurists and when they give their story its I was a mess or I realized I was a sinner and repented.

God has no use for isreal to lead the world to him. that is the Holy spirits job via the church. a saved Hebrew is part of the church not isreal. we are in Christ not isreal.its One faith, one body and one baptism. a saved Jew whether or not and contrary to messianic jews(which are mostly gentiles ) teaching cant be fully under the law. they cant offer sin offerings per the old way and expect god to honor it. he did away with that in ad 70 and really even earlier the cross. if the blood of animals cleanses again that makes God cruel and a liar for telling the world to believe in the Son whom died for them sinners only to then change his mind.
