God's Love

So, God accepts us through Christ. Then I have a question: if all humans, the way we are made (come from God) we all have a desire to get to know our Creator. How come many people tend to rather choose against Him? Why is that other force so strong, that many perish, instead of becoming His children, too? Our own 'free' will? Lack of knowledge?

Why do you always put free will in quotation marks?
"free" will.....

"free" will.....
(haven't noticed this before, must have been unconscious act)
but, wondering
we here on earth don't really have free will. We either slave to sin, or obedient in/ to Christ. :)
guess the term is used by people who do not believe, to think they have 'free' will to choose whatever they want. That's what the serpant told Eve...

I agree that we are either a slaver to satan or a slave to God.
BUT,,,we do have the free will to choose to whom we will present ourselves.

Romans 6:16
16Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

Notice that Paul says that we PRESENT OURSELVES...it is up to us to present ourself to someone as a slave, and we are a slave to the one WHOM WE OBEY...obedience is a free choice..we obey sin or we obey God's commandments resulting in life.

Romans 10:13
13for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

It's up to us to call on the name of the Lord to be saved.

Calvinists believe in determinism.
IF God predestined everything that is to happen to man...
then man does not have free will.

The problem, as I see it, is that many calvinists do not read their confession properly and
certainly do not understand John Calvin properly.
