Actually, there was no vaccine developed or used in 1919 to combat Spanish flu. The flu was all but stopped due to herd immunity. The Spanish flu virus never fully died off and is still with us today to some degree but today we do have fully tested and proven vaccines that are known to be effective. One thing that helped with that was the more rural society and people didn't get around as much as they do today but stayed home more.

You all keep forgetting or ignoring that these Covid vaccines are new and unproven technology that have not been tested over even a minimal period of time per FDA protocol to truly determine their safety. The Pfizer vaccine has obtained full approval from the FDA but it was done in only about 1 year after clinical trials began when it should have taken a minimum of 2 years but more expectantly 4-6 years even if the clinical trials were run simultaneously when normally they are not and for good reason. This begs the question whether the approval came under political pressure.
actually we don't know why it stopped

My information came from an October 2020 Time Magazine article by Olivia B. Waxman that was comparing Covid to the Spanish flu and what we learned from the flu.

Here are the exerts I was referencing.

"Here’s what we do know: in order for a pandemic to end, the disease in question has to reach a point at which it is unable to successfully find enough hosts to catch it and then spread it."

She went on to quote historian J. Alexander Navarro who said, "The end of the pandemic occurred because the virus circulated around the globe, infecting enough people that the world population no longer had enough susceptible people in order for the strain to become a pandemic once again." This describes herd immunity.

it returned several times ,I know I got it twice ,your flue shot is actually that virus ,all flue virus are mutations of the Spanish flu

I agree. The 1918 pandemic came to an end when herd immunity was reached. It seems like Covid has been mutating enough to stay ahead of herd immunity. The current vaccines don't prevent the spread of the virus very well.

they aren't meant to ,its more of a preventive then an actual vaccine . the media ,the cdc knowing this should have communicated it .perhaps they thought the viral therapy would beef up the immune system to where it wouldn't .

probably by getting herd immunity by it is how they thought

With a population of like 25 million there has been like 35 million tests, not sure how many come back negative, not sure how many jabs have been given must be a fair few million by now. All this in a small time frame. Health care workers and doctors must be overwhelmed. I didnt even know there was that amount of health professionals who could keep up with every other health condition they have to deal with in general thats not 19 related. The health system must be overwhlemed with so many sick?/healthy? people.

Maybe doctors and health care workers need a pay rise. I mean, it is only qualified nurses and doctors who give people tests and jabs right?

Just like any other pandemic, it has to run its course. Give it 3-5 years…

Yes and no. What the mRNA vaccines do is essentially train our bodies to recognize a particular protein or set of proteins common to the virus and trigger an immune response so our bodies can produce the appropriate antibodies to combat the virus and destroy it. Traditional vaccines do the same thing but in a slightly different way. They introduce a weakened or dead form of the actual virus which also triggers our immune response to produce the needed antibodies to combat the virus and destroy it. The advantage of mRNA technology, if it works as expected, is that it would be impossible to actually get sick with the virus from the vaccine because the actual virus is not being used. With traditional vaccines, there are on rare occasions where recipients do actually get sick with the virus because it was used to develop the vaccine.

I've been trying to learn about mRNA technology and this is how I understand it based on what I've been reading so far and I'm sure I am probably over-simplifying things a bit.

Very true. I expect that it will never fully die off but have hope that God will lead our research specialists to develop the appropriate treatments to keep things in check.

How long should we wait then? How many people should die that could have been saved by a simple injection?
