Bible Study Great Secrets And Revelation Of The Cross.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthian 4:7-12
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

Stability is found in a nature because nature cannot and does not change. Those that have a sin-nature will eventually manifest that nature through the characteristics of that nature.
Those that have a "Christ in you nature" will manifest that nature through the characteristics of that nature, Eph. 4:20
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

When the individuals mind becomes compatible with the inward nature the characteristics of that nature will be manifested.
The point is the nature desires to manifest itself and can only do so when the mind yields itself to that nature. This principle is applicable to either the sin-nature or the "Christ in you nature."
This is one of the principles introduced in Romans 6 where the word yield is found.
Believers should give plenty of time to Romans chapters 5-8, where it is written how mankind became sinners. Also how born again believers become sons of God.
It used to be referred to as Romans road, chapter 5 one man, chapter 6 old man, chapter 7 dead man, and chapter 8 new man.
Romans 5:19, For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

It does not say, by one man's disobedience many were made disobedient, but they were disobedient because they were sinners by nature. The problem now is not the new nature-life, its the old mind.
The only problem a believer will ever have is not understanding who they are. That is the simplest answer to all of life, and it can be found in the understanding of Christ as life. That what this is, it's an understanding of who you are. The difference it makes is day and night, you cannot compare 'the knowledge of good and evil, to the knowledge of Christ.
You're born with one and the other is acquired. There are areas of every believers mind that has been renewed. There are areas that haven't, the unrenewed part of your mind will override the new "Christ in you nature."
Manifesting Christ will always be a challenge, but the very hour we live in, if you haven't noticed, the heat is on. The pressure is on, we cant live a perfect Christ life, but we can have a revelation of Christ as our life.
The only mind to manifest the "Christ in you nature" is your mind.

Jeremiah 13:23 Can an Ethiopian change his skin or a leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.
Jesus Christ made it possible for for us to make the change. But the issue is that we have a memory. We remember our old nature, and by our free-will can revert back to it. Unfortunately, many judgmental people see others as the leopard who cannot change its spots. They say things like: 'once a thief always a thief', same goes for addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes, etc.

The leopard spots in us as we change towards Christ nature, do not disappear. However they do diminish in size as their priority have slipped down the list of who we are. If we choose to revisit our old nature, these diminished spots flare up again.

Our forgetter works better than our rememberer. How is that for a play on words. We forget who we are and go back into the memories of who we once were. Not remembering I'm a Christ-person, Christ-ian.
In all fairness, rightly so because that's all we knew until the new birth. Then started gaining some mind renewal. The thing is we can only go along so far and then the challenge begins. The schoolhouse, the world begins its work, it is imparative the believer be renewed.
Our Father did not birth us to let us just skip along, He is preparing us for His house. Religion has come up with every conceivable idea to keep believers living some kind of earthly life.
It doesn't work, our gospel is not a worldly message. If things work out in this world for an individual that's wonderful, but it doesn't matter.
What matters is they hear the gospel, and begin to live it. Christ becomes the life, that is the pleasing of the Father. All of religion put together cannot match the truth of Christ in us.

Yes, it is true that we easily forget without regular reminders. For me it is daily prayer and meditation, plus writing responses to this forum.
However, why do we forget? Distractions. That is why hermits get away from them. That is why Jesus Christ, as far as I know, went often alone to some isolated spot during the night to pray (to) and meditate (on) the Word of God.

This realm is the densest realm that we know of. The spiritual realm is finer (invisible). Our body is inundated with stimuli of this dense realm. It is so ease to get caught up in it. Also, the mind's task for survival is to monitor and make sense of it all. The mind also has created an identity (ego) so it can also make sense of itself in this dense realm, even though itself seems invisible. So when we pay attention to this worldly realm we do so with the ego in-toe. Suddenly we are no longer in touch with the invisible, but the visible. And our old nature knows the visible and not the invisible.

It's one die hard dude, will not go away without a fight.
Even though the sin nature does not exist in the believer, the mind will still manifest the old way of doing things.
Religion has commingled the gospel to where believers do not know what to believe.
My answer for the believer is 'read for yourself, do not let someone else interpret the scriptures for you.
If that is the case you are in for a ride, leaders, as sincere as they are, are human.
The scripture warns us of that, no man is to interpret for you.
We dont have to be a Rhodes Scholar to look and see that something is not right.
I call it ostrich religion, sticking their head in the sand hoping the storm will pass, in the mean time being stripped of the tail feathers.

Hi all Soul man and my CROSS friends. We have reached the end of what Soul Man and I were after in this thread. We want to thank you all for your tremendous posts and participation with us.

Now, as promised, is there a topic that you would like us to start a new thread with. Soul Man and I will look over the various topics that you all suggest. We will pray over each request to see if the Holy Spirit would be willing to chose one and we'd go with that. Also, we would keep all the requests on file so that later we could chose another topic that's suggested.

GO FOR IT!! and, stay Tuned.

Thanks for the revelations of the cross thread, and inviting us to put in a proposal for the next thread.
What comes to mind is a thread on Truthful Living. What does it mean and how to incorporate it in/as our new nature.

Thank you. TRUTHFUL LIVING I like that. We will certainly consider that.

Everyone has brought great thoughts and insight to the cross. A great subject Chopper chose to keep us all entertained and dwelling on the blessed hope we have. Looking forward to having another in-depth look at another wonderful passage from our beloved Scriptures.

My last thought in our thread on the CROSS is....

2Timothy 1:1 "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus."

AND

Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

This finishes our thoughts and Scriptures on the effects of the cross of Jesus, the Son of God. We have turned from the death that the cross represents to killing our sinful nature to LIFE in Christ Jesus of Whom we believe by faith. This new life that we live in now is possible because the Author of LIFE is in Jesus Christ Who LIVES in each one of us, Praise and thankfulness to our Heavenly Father and His beloved Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you all for your participation in our thread. Soul Man and I love you all. We are looking forward to choosing our next topic from the suggestions that you folk choose. Please let us know what topic you'd like us to research and present as a study thread. We already have one from the Hermit.

There have been posts on how the Father doesn't see the individual, but only Christ. It was mentioned that this was a Baptist doctrine, but it seems to be a widely held belief. Many seemed to receive it with great joy that they remain hidden from their Father, that the Lord does not see them. I find this to be rather sad; Adam still hiding behind his fig leaf. But as Chopper came to state, he now believes the Father sees him, although that revelation did not seem to come with the same joy as when he thought he was hidden.

Because this is such a widely held belief, perhaps you could do a study on how Christ made it posssible for you to have a relationship with the Father and the Son.

And because so many seem to be captured by this thought, then maybe you should do a study on how the Cross was made a stumbling block and a snare.

Ok folks. My invitation to all who have been participants in this thread, to suggest a new topic for Soul Man and me to research and present a new study & thread on that topic will indeed happen....Please think about it for the rest of the week, and on Friday 9/1 Soul Man and I will choose our new topic.

dirtfarmer here

How about: " Those that are asleep in Christ."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, " But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died an rose again, even so them which also sleep in Jesus God will bring with him."
Many believe that when a believer passes away, that they will be able to walk on the street of heaven. But, the new heaven and the new earth has not desended down from God yet. While I do understand that Jesus is in the Father's presence making intercession for the believer that walks on earth and is overtaken by a fault; are the believers that has past from physical life, alive with Jesus in the presence of the Father?

It wasn't meant to be a debate, nor was it arguing over any points. Chopper has been asking for suggestions for topics for a new study. I used a few of his comments to suggests a new study, that was still closely related to what this thread was about. I believe I even mentioned that intent in the opening of my comment when I said I highlighted some of his phrases that he might consider for his next study.
