I have never seen a ghost. I think they would be an evil spirit masquerading as a ghost. I don't think that an evil spirit would try this with a Christian. We know to test the spirits and of the power of the name of Jesus Christ and they wouldn't want to risk being banished or something, lol. The last thing an evil spirit want is to come upon a Spirit filled believer, lol!

I think that if you are a Christian, and have seen a ghost, that you should consider if you are a fence sitter of sorts. Search your heart, and also think back to if you have ever toyed within the occult, or any of your family. If this is so, then you may want to pray a renunciation prayer. It is my understanding that the sin of occultism and it's curses can be visited upon up to four generations of the children. So perhaps it doesn't even have to be you that dabbled in the occult, but your grandma or something like that. If in doubt, pray the renunciation prayer anyway...

Would you be scared if you saw an evil spirit or demon?

I wouldn't. Why should I be? If you can see them, they can't sneak up on you, lol. Give 'em both barrels of the name of Jesus Christ between the eyes...boom.

Let me tell you a story, told to me by my then pastor's sister back in1982. The pastor is Baptist, he does not even believe the gifts of the Spirit are for today. The family has Baptist roots. No Pentecostals or Charismatics. No cultists, or dabblers in witchcraft. All raised on a ranch in Wyoming.
Just ordinary people who love the Lord Jesus. I'll just call the pastor's sister, M.

On this day in 1982, M and I had been visiting and discussing the Christian life. She told me that when she was living in Texas with her husband and children she was part of a youth ministry at her church.
One night she got a call from a young teen girl from the church begging her to come quickly and pick her up. When she got there the girl was still standing in the phone booth that she had called her from.
M saw the demons around the phone booth tormenting that girl. M did not confront them. She motioned to the girl to come, the girl ran from the booth and jump in the back seat and they drove away. I have now known M and her family for over 30 yrs. and she is as solid a Christian as any I have ever known or heard speak. She hasn't got a kooky or lying bone in her body. She belongs to the Lord.

That's the reason women are encouraged to wear makeup. Men are so very lifelike all the time we don't need it, else it's our selective sight or dirty mirrors we need to wake up and clean. :poke

Right, the make-up is merely a disguise to make us look like human beings. But in truth we are undead creatures from the twilight zone, determined to devour male hearts.

Wow. What a story. I believe you. I don't think I can adequately address this. I certainly see your point. Off the cuff, I could see two possibilities, whether right or wrong, I do not know. One, perhaps within M's and/or the young girls heart (which we can not see or know, ourselves) was enough unbelief to be able to be vulnerable to an attack of this sort. (Why didn't M confront them in the name of Jesus?). Two, I am wrong in what I said, and the spirits and demons merely go after easy targets, but could in fact attack hard-core Christians, but do not as a general rule for reasons unknown to us. Wow, just wow.

Uh-oh. :erm

I dunno. I like the just rolled out of bed look on a woman. The Cinderella look, if you will. It seems like to me, (maybe I'm weird?) that the more make-up they wear, the less desirable they are. A very light use of make up can look good, if done right and not over-done, but those girls who paint their whole face with foundation and bright eyelids and lipstick are like...no, I'm sorry, I was looking at the blank wall behind you, lol.

I know enough about how all of this occurred to tell you it had nothing to do with anyone's unbelief in the Lord.
I think what you said was that a strong believing Christian would not see demons. M saw them, they were not tormenting her. This girl was a teen, she believed in the Lord that is how she knew she needed to get out of the place where she was, that she didn't belong there and she needed a ride because the person she had gone there with wasn't leaving.

Why do you think M should have confronted the demons? What would/could have been accomplished?

confronting demons isn't wise unless one has too. we aren't to go demon hunting. I know places that they likely hang out and I wouldn't go do that unless the owners of the business wanted me to set them free. assuming they were possessed in the first place. just posting my update and read these last few statements here.i have seen spirits in some places. a church, on the side of a road,

I think that strong Christians will probably not see demons, certainly not attacked (I think, lol). I think if they can see them, then it is for a purpose and they should be confronted in the name of the Lord. I think that because M did see them that the Lord had a purpose for that and she should have told them to leave the girl alone and leave (in the name of Jesus Christ), so they would not follow her home, so to speak.

I agree with you that we shouldn't go demon hunting. But if one does see one or more, don't you think it would have purpose and consequently be confronted and told to leave?

:thumbsup
But you wouldn't like my just rolled out of bed mood. :lol

You're not weird. I think many men like the natural look of women, although a little bit of make-up is fine and even heavy make-up has its place in certain situations.
I think men are most cute when they are sleepy and messy looking in the morning. :)

Oh, I'm well aware of that. Let me get you a cup of coffee dear, lol.

if they are bothering you. do we then when we KNOW a possessed child exercocise him? I met a lady possessed by three spirits. should I have cleansed her if she didn't want it?

I only have seen them one time back in 1977 as baby Christian of about two mths. That is how this topic had come up with M because I respected her opinion and I told her about it. I had never told anyone before that. Not even my closest Christian friends.

I'd rather go hunting than be hunted.
Didn't Jesus tell his disciples that they should cast out demons?
Maybe we shouldn't actively search for demons, but if you know a place where they dwell you should confront them.

if I did that then I would get a bus to Hollywood, san Francisco and spent years there. the people there that do those demonic things will want to do them again. that is the problem. here we have reiki and the occult. tarot card and pyschics. do I then stand outside rebuking them when the people willing want that?

Leave and go where? They were already in the wilderness. If I were to take a guess, they probably went back to where they had just come from and were welcome.

I've cast demons out of my son. Not that I seen them, but highly suspected as much based on his actions. I sent them to the feet of Jesus and told them not to return.

That's the only thing that might save your life in such a situation. lol

Indeed. I think that some girls try to copy the just rolled out of bed look. They have makeup and all, but go for the tussled hair look, because they've seen it before. There's nothing more desirable in a woman, than the look of a well rested radiant woman who has just woke up, lol. :boing

My pastor told me a story about some German missionary pastor to Africa, some very rural area with lots of witchcraft mixed into christianity. Some day the locals dragged a guy to him that they said was possessed (he had seizures, was very aggressive and was screaming some uncomprehensible stuff, they had trouble keeping him under control) and they wanted him baptised right away to drive away the evil spirit. The alleged possessed guy was obviously not consenting and was acting totally crazy. The pastor, typical German protestant, wanted to refuse their request because to him baptism required an informed choice to walk with God, and also that guy looked like he'd need a doc much more than a pastor. But they insisted and so the pastor baptised that insane guy against his will. The momet he was baptised he turned peacefull and calm and praised God. So was that some psychological thing that happened, or did the forced baptism drive out some demon?
No sure exorcism requires the consent of the people that invited the demons, but this story implies that you could cast out spirits even from people that willingly did something occult. Anyway, Hollywood appears so evil you shouldn't mess with all of it at once lol.

I don't call it hellywood for no reason. when Christians rally behind a show with a gay character who find his true love we know that satan has won. it didn't start with that we did with fornicators and other things before that.

Many days I'm too lazy to comb my hair. So I put a cap or make some sort of ponytail. Last week I took off the cap during work and one of our clients told me I'd look like a witch, but in a sexy way. Ugh... thanks, I guess. :lol

There's this video on Facebook about strange sounds coming from the atmosphere. Clips from news broadcasts. Although I'm not sure if the videos are real or not. (No indication what news networks the clips are supposed to be from.) This is Facebook we're taking about, after all.
Anyway, the sounds are really creepy, sound almost supernatural. Since we're taking about ghosts, I thought I'd mention it.

Those videos were rampant on youtube in 2012. But most of them were hoaxes. You can tell because the "sound from the atmosphere" are sound effects copied from movies. You can easily doctor a "strange sounds" video on your computer. Just film something and then digitally add a sound track Or just have a computer play the sounds in the background while you filming with your cell phone.

There were a few incidents of "hums" in different parts of the world during the last 50 years that did actually get serious media coverage. But those hums were suspected to be cases of tinnitus rather than a real sound.
