I have always been taught that after the second coming of Christ that the earth will be destroyed and then made into a paradise where all people who have been saved will spend eternity. I have also heard that all people who are saved will go to heaven. So where will we be spending eternity after Jesus comes back? in heaven or in paradise on earth, or is it the same thing? :chin

this topic has been moved from 1 on 1 debate to the apologetics and theology forum, as it is more related here.

I believe that the New Testament teaches that the redeemed will spend eternity in a transformed and re-made earth, not in Heaven. Consider Romans 8:

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Paul is talking about what is clearly a future reversal of the fall - a liberating of all creation from its present bondage to decay. Do you think that God would go to all that trouble to rescue his physical creation, and describe it as experiencing the glorious freedom of the children of God, if that creation is not our eternal home?

Enjoy heaven while you can - you will not be there forever.... :-)

Most of us will live on paradise earth when Jesus starts raining with elect from the heaven. Heaven is for spiritual beings and most of us will not be spiritual being, we will have perfect body just like Adam and Eve had before they sinned.

No, that is not what the Bible says.

1Co 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

There will not be some with a certain body and others who are "spiritual beings". All believers will have the same body.

So God created earth to just destroy? Where does the Bible say the earth will be destroyed?

Please read what I wrote. I made no reference to Earth.

For goodness sake Shad, read what you wrote, then read what I wrote. The OP made a few points and one of those you addressed and I rebutted.

You did, but it is not biblical because you cannot back up with the Scripture.
