Hello Everyone

Hello there! My name is Tyler. I recently have sought out to improve my faith by total immersion of the Lord. I bought my first bible, and have begun to read it. I plan on reading it from front to cover, word for word. This would also explain why I am here. I want to discuss, and learn more about God. I feel these things will bring me closer to him.

Since I have increased my faith, I feel like I am a better person. I feel so blessed to be close to God. I mean, not everyone gets to spend eternity with God. I spent all of my child hood in a private christian school called "Christ Lutheran." It is safe to say I have known God my whole life, but have just begun to completely immerse myself to him. I am still young (21), and look forward to my every increasing faith.

It is good to be here, and I look forward to further discussions :).

Welcome to CFnet! :wave

Our 3 children went to a Lutheran K-8 school, too (Missouri Synod). It was wonderful, and I would do it again if I had to make that decision. But one thing has always struck me as a mentor for our teens. I've found that when kids are in a Christian school, the tendency is to begin taking their faith and His Word for granted. They seem to take the attitude that they're getting their "religion" in school, so there's no need to spend time in it when they're out of class.

I have had teens who are members of our church in my groups. Some go to our day school, some go to public school, and some are home-schooled. Generally, I have found the ones who don't go to our school are more engaged and interested in learning more. I believe our Christian schools and churches need to challenge their teens more with "Why do you believe what you believe?", "Do you honestly believe what you profess to believe?", and we need to arm them with a defense of the faith for the skeptical questions they will no doubt hear from the world.

God bless you in your new walk toward Him. :)

Hello Tyler. Nice to meet you. May God bless you as you delve ever deeper into His word. I still have the first Bible I bought after I accepted Christ 21 years ago. It's been through a lot!:wave
