Hey there.

Hi I'm Chris. New here, evidently.
I found this place thanks to tapatalk, I was looking for Christian forums on my phone and found this place. being a memeber of the David Icke forums I saw Johnny Botwright was here, so decided to join myself.

Anyway my theology, I'm a conditionalist, post-trib [non-rapture really], believe thorougly that alot of our current orthodox theology is far too influenced by ancient greek philosophy and the whims of modern believers and radio show hosts. I am all for going back to to 70 A.D. in a time machine and seeing what they believe.

I also have a great disdain for the emergent church, I see many young people disillusioned by the modern church jumping in with them.

Thanks for reading :)

Welcome to CFnet! :wave

I'm glad you joined. Less time on the David Icke forums and more time on CFnet is a good thing! ;)

You're hillarious! :wave
You are as funny as Johnny B:lol

Most certainly agree. The DIF is not a good place for a christian who isn't well set in his beliefs and doctrine. There are christians there, but they are so swamped with new age mumbo jumbo they end up compromising their beliefs. Not good.

You doubt the church, and think that modern belief is too influenced by Greeks? You know that Jesus spoke Greek, and the Bible was written in Greek, right?

And if we were to have a time machine, why go to 70 AD, why not 30 AD, and say hi to Jesus for ourselves?

Yes I know Jesus spoke Greek, and the NT was written in Greek (although it is believed matthew was written in hebrew first).
It doesn't mean Jesus taught Greek philosophies and beliefs. However christian beliefs are intertwined with greek ones. so much so that words like nephesh now no longer represent the breath of God,, but an immortal soul. etc

Evident there was a problem with greek influence, there was massive dispute in the early church. Sadly alot of this stuff was accepted (augustine & tertullian) and thus the people believed without question.

Why did I want to go to 70ad? To see the gospels being written. To see if what we have accurately represents what was written. I wouldn't go see Jesus because he had a job to do and I would surely get in the way. Plus this is just an assessment of bibles today and not of the gospel. Nothing jesus said supports eternal torment. Especially when you realise that gnashing of teeth refers to anger.

And, of course, one must be careful in arguing to Greek influence. All truth is God's truth. So if there is truth that Greek culture brought to bear on Scripture and Christ's teachings, then we cannot so easily dismiss certain things merely because they are influenced by Greek belief and culture.

Welcome to the forums! :)
