Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

After knocking at the door of Jesus Christ for salvation, Jesus testified that the Father promised believers that they will never need to ask for the Holy Spirit again because that would be like making the Father look evil as if He did not give you the promise of the Holy Spirit the first time at your salvation.

That also means you will never lose the Holy Spirit either that you would need to ask for Him again.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Matthew 28:20......and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Nonsense.
The verses you quote say absolutely nothing of the sort.
There is not one word of any promise not to need to ask again.
They do not even suggest the idea that one cannot ask a second time.

CD,
This not going to be viewed as cute. You as seeking to slide in one more fight over OSAS and I am not at all certain comes from the Christ driven side of your nature. God wants us to build one another up and I have never seen these fights elevate any one other than in their own eyes. I believe I can never loose my Salvation but I don't argue about it because it is not a matter of salvation. Just let this stand here and it will go away and you will have declared your faith and will have done nothing wrong in the eyes of God.

Some presentations of scripture are ongoing. Paul for example was "apprehended" but still sought the reality of Christ's apprehension.

Philippians 3:12
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

What was it Paul sought? His New Body, while still in the vile body of flesh. I might suggest that is always the target and our continuing Hope.

The title of the thread could be considered provocative rather than declarative. A better title could be "The gift of the Holy Spirit is for eternity", which it is. And it is NOT the sinner who asks for the gift of the Holy Spirit, but God who gives Him to the sinner who believes. As to the Scripture which refers to "asking" for the Holy Spirit, it would be related to the repeated need for the FILLING of the Holy Spirit. Christians can ask to be filled if they feel that they are not being bold witnesses for Christ.

It was a good bit more than just a "new body" that Paul sought.
Here's the list of what Paul said he sought:
Phl 3:8 (RSV) Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse,

(A) in order that I may gain Christ 9 and
(B) be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ,
(C) the righteousness from God that depends on faith; 10
(D) that I may know Him
(E) and (know) the power of His resurrection,
and
(F)
may share His sufferings,
(G) becoming like Him in His death, 11 that if possible I may
(H)
attain the resurrection from the dead.

Hmmmmmm............. A "new body" isn't on that list ............. :confused

Really? Same as what is said in Phil. 3:21 Romans 8:23, etc etc. That's exactly what he sought.

Show me "a new body" on this list:

Gave the quotes in the last post. What do you think His Resurrection is about anyway? Phil. 3:21, Romans 8:23 and a HOST of similar scriptural N.T. facts.

What do you think His Resurrection is about anyway?
His resurrection in a human body was to make it possible for all of mankind to have a resurrection to eternal life.
How is it that you didn't know that?

The only odd thing is you seem to think we are seeing differently when we're seeing the same.
