How can you prove to someone that your belief is real?

My girlfriend and I broke up, and after that I became saved. She wants to get back together but doesn't trust that I am truly saved. Have any idea how I can prove to her that I believe?

Welcome to the forums. :wave

I apologize if this is out of line but I must be honest and tell you that my first gut reaction to your question was one of motive. The truth is, the only way to prove to her that you are saved is by being you. If you are saved as you believe then you will show it in your actions, your words, your feelings, your beliefs. In other words, you will reflect the love of Christ by your very existence.

Doing things to prove to her that you are saved sounds like your just looking for some way to win her over and to be blunt, sounds like you would be using Christ to achieve that end.

Does this make sense?

Your fruits will show. If she does not trust that you are saved..it may better for her to keep stepping and move on. You do not have to prove to anyone you are saved. God knows and that is what is important.

She wants to get back together, but are you sure you want to get back together?

You might want to tell her that you would like to wait about 6 months to a year so that you can grow in your walk with the Lord.

After spending some time growing in your own faith, then the two of you could see about getting back together again.

This would be especially helpful if your previous relationship with her included any ungodly behavior such as having sex.

Jesus spoke of the parable of the seeds in which some seeds were scattered amongst weeds and then the weeds choked out the new life which sprouted from the seeds. The seed represented a person who received in God's word and the weeds were the cares of the world. Relationships can be challenging, especially when there was a previous break up and now there seems to be some trust issues. These cares can possibly put your new faith in jeopardy, especially if another break up happens.

From now on, the most important relationship you have is your relationship with the Lord. Putting Him first now will only serve to strengthen all other relationships you have, including the one with this woman, should the two of you eventually get back together.

Very good advice Handy:)

By the fruits you display and letting the light of Christ shine through you.

Galatians 5:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
