I don't know if anyone else has tried it yet, but apparently the ex-CEO of Mozilla (firefox) has built a new web browser that blocks ads and limits web tracking. From what I understand he is a Christian. The name of the browser is Brave. Have a looksee.

Surprising enough, it seems that there is a 32bit version for windoze but not 32bit version for LInux, only a 64bit version.
Last time I tried 64 bit Linux, I found it to be a bit unstable so I came back to 32 bit.

I've been running 64 bit Ubuntu for better than 2 years now and it is very stable.

G'day Bill,
I might have an iffy copy of 64 bit, don't know actually as I recall the problem I had manifested mostly with chromium.
There is a later release out now and it might be worth a try. Thanks for your encouragement :crossed

if someone finds money in your home it was not a good hiding place

Running 64bit Linux in demo mode. as I post..downloaded 'brave' and will look see how it stack up
Thanks for the heads up.

After I have the time to backup my hdd, I'll upgrade to Linux 17.3 then I will be able to properly evaluate brave. There is a version 18 of Linux, but it is not long term supported so I'll stick with V17. xxLTS

I hope it runs for you but I have it and dislike it.
Brave is indeed disappointing Bill, but I guess it is just another program that has to go through a long series of developments until it matures so to speak.

I did not want to say that but I agree. I enjoy testing new software but Brave is not finished yet.

Brave taking lessons from microsoft?

I sure dont miss google :)

thanks guys another question... old eyes like big icons.. from fire fox i get those little white boxes with a TINY icon any answers to get them bigger

Hold down the ctrl key and scroll the wheel on your mouse back and forth.

ok that gives bigger white squares how about the middle
The middle of what? Are you talking about the browser window or something else? Cuz if you put your cursor on a page within your web browser and do the same thing I mentioned it will increase/decrease the size of the page you are viewing.
