[ Testimony ] How Jesus got to me.

Well as a little boy my folks got me into a sunday school, where I heard the stories about Jesus. And as a little boy I believed everything said about Him. Little did I know what really took place when I confessed my belief.
Anyway to make along story shorter. I grew up and if anyone asked if I believed Jesus was the son of God, I would answer yes. Did I believe the bible was Gods word, my answer was yes. Did I believe in a heaven and hell, again yes, but don't ask my anything else because I didn't know.
So I lived my life in that way for over Thirty years. Till one day a neighbour of mine asked me if I would like to go to a FullGospel Business mens supper. I asked about what that was, and got " well men give their testimony as how Jesus changed their lives.... So I said yes. Well to make the story short, I came away from that meeting feeling like would have to make a decision.
My neighbour drove me home and when I went to get out he gave me a cassette tape of another mans testimony.
When I got in the house everyone was in bed, the kitchen light was on, coffee was on, and a tape player was on the table? I never knew we had one! So I decided to listen to the 90 minute tape.
After listening to the tape a voice spoke to me....I knew it was Jesus, He said to me. " My son, you have believed in Me ever since you were a little boy, but you have never invited Me into your life to become your Lord!" I answered, " I didnt know You had to be invited to come into my life?" He said, " It is the only way I come! Will you invite Me to come into your life, and become your Lord?" As I slid to the floor, I invited Jesus into my life that night. Sept 26 1982.

From that day onward I have grown to Know Him who loves me, we have an intimate relationship as He taught me so many things.

Thanks for your testimony. I suppose I received our Lord in church at a very young age, and although knowing near nothing about the word of God, I believed future testimonies concerning God without really knowing why. Oh I did many things wrong; "I swear to God", a favorite to validate the somewhat truth I was telling, but God never gave up on me as I later found when I read that it is God that works in us to will, and to do of His good pleasure. Php 2:13.

Even the many times in my life I called out for God's help (Act 2:21) in different situations was sufficient for God Who knew my heart. What was it that I did as a child that that put the dependence upon God for my life? Was that truly the impetus for Him to never fail or forsake me? I really don't even remember what was said at that church, or what I did other than going forward to the altar and affirming yes to whatever was said.

Through my life God would not let me go far from Him, even to ending a future in NASA endeavors, and relocating me to another part of the country where evangelists spoke to me of God such as you encountered with those of the Full Gospel Business Men, and I really started knowing Jesus in a personal way. I was growing in grace and knowledge of my Lord, and that working for my good.

I think now that I am no more saved than I was as a child the moment I believed on Him, but I now have opportunity to reach forward to that time with assurance when we will be face to face with Jesus. As a child I had no idea the importance in faithfully keeping the word of God (Rev 3:10 - those alive at Jesus' coming), or remaining faithful unto death (Rev 2:10 - that great cloud of witness that die which bodies will be raised first) which produce reward that will endure forever.
I've probably posted too much - blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2

Hi Eugene.... You will notice in my testimony that He called me " Son!" That is because I had believed and confessed that belief, as a little boy, that made Him my Saviour, because I was "born of Him " at that moment.
