Yes :) . However for decent look my Mom only permissed ' one' in each....More than one is a ' hypie / gypsy ' look for families. So I was decent enough to obey them :) !!

Ms Reena: Well, okay! In the West, anyway, it's not unusual for Christian women to have gotten double studs in each ear, though. I guess that in the West doubles would be regarded as perfectly classy and decent.

What's significant also is that in the West many women - not of Asian background - now get a tiny stud put in their nose. Previously it was indentified with Asian women, but now very many Westerners do it.

Blessings.

oh is it?
However , hole in nose here in India is only done as a symbol of being married. Its more of a hindu culture..

Ms Reena:

There is also the pottu dot in the forehead, right? although this does not seem to have caught on in the West.

But anyway, double pairs of ear studs are very widespread indeed in the West; including with moms, grandmothers, professional women.

Blessings.

Yes...its called a ' Bindi' in india. Again previously it was a sign of being married among indian women...later it became a fashion statement. Most popular being a ' Red ' in colour.

Ms Reena:

Interesting. So would you be reluctant to wear the Bindi? or maybe not? and would you regard the double ear studs as acceptably classy?

Blessings.

:) Personally I prefer graceful dressing ! So a pair of stud / small earings are ok for me. Bindi I usually wear when I am dressed in traditional dresses ( sari / lehanga ) of india, as it goes well with it.

Ms Reena: I see! so you kind of feel that Bindi is simply a nice feature for Indian ladies to have, and it's not necessarily a Hindu thing for you. And I guess double holes would probably be 'too much'.

Interesting how customs are perceived from one country to another.

Blessings.

I saw some wolf earrings at a store up here. Almost bought them, but I don't have pierced ears yet and it's not a certainty I ever will.

PS: Hi questdriven: I guess it's fair to say about having pierced ears that doing it is an advantage, rather than a strict necessity. Blessings.

JPPT1974:

The simple, classic way, right?

(Great avatar photo, BTW; so who's the great looking guy with the great-looking lady? did he ever go for pierced ears, too?)

Think they are my parents or that I have different type of pictures btw! As I just changed my just recently!

JPPT1974:

Anyway years ago one hole pierced each side used to be the kind of basic 'default setting'. :)

But not any more, so often, it seems! The 'call' for extra holes seems to resonate with so many wearers.

Blessings.

I have on in each ear but I rarely wear ear rings or makeup. It is just to much trouble. Since most of my "company" are dogs and horses they don't really care what I wear.

Well, some ppl keep their earlobe holes filled so that they don't close up... :)

Blessings.
