That really takes me back, that quick video.

Years ago, while the kids were growing up, we had a Rottweiler who had a special blanket. It was kept in her dog crate (her favorite spot to sleep during the day). Well, before she was ready to snooze, she would drag that blanket out of the crate and take it to the sofa where she would toss it on the cushions. Then she would basically do what the dog in the above video does: drags it onto her so she could be wrapped in the blanket in her crate.

She was such a lovely dog...so good natured.

That is sweet. We had a terrier cocker mix.Her name was Kandy. The kids and I went to a pet store on Halloween and bought her.The kids had been begging for a dog.I had always grew up with one and I thought an animal was good for kids. The husband said "absolutely NO ANIMALS in this house".Well, the strong willed rebellious child came out in me.When we got home the kids and I got out of the car and my husband was in the garage.I had the puppy in my pocket. She was so tiny. She started to wimper. The husband said "What in the world is that?".I reached into my pocket and showed him our new tiny puppy :biggrin2

What did your husband say? (You can't leave us hanging here without knowing!)
Well,he talked to me like a deliquent child of course. We kept the dog.I asked the kids well what should we name her?It was Halloween. They thought about it for a minute and said "CANDY!!!".So I put a twist on it and made it Kandy. We had many, many loving years with her.She died at the ripe old age of 25 with a stroke.

Then we ended up with Mickey(a girl).By that time the husband could care less.Mickey was the cat across the street. She was a very sweet little girl. The family across the street abused her so she would come across the street and play with my daughter. One day the people across the street moved. We knew that we would miss Mickey. But the neighbors moved and left their cat. They had been gone for a week and Mickey would continue to come around. The kids begged me to keep her because it was that or the pound.Kandy hated Mickey.

I can't understand why people abandon their pets like that. It's so sad.

However, Mickey gained a great home! Even if Kandy was not a happy camper about the situation, she did know she was well-loved.

Yes,they both had a great home. And we did benefit from their love as well.

Our pets are members of our families. They receive good, care, and love. They share their love with us. And, they also enjoy hearing Scripture read aloud to them :thumbsup
