I want to be filled

U

Hi, I'm John Ericson Te. I wanted to be filled and I need the prayers of those filled by the Holy Ghost to pray for me...And aside from this...I WANT TO SPEAK IN TONGUES!!! Which I don't have yet :smt022
Is there anyone here filled by the Holy Ghost?

However I want to become clear at something:
1. are there any dangers against unholiness of friends and families that you're with if you're filled
2. and is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost possible?
3. I have experience miracles in my life. But what's the difference if you have the Holy Spirit filling you?

ultrajet,

I will be praying for you. It is a righteous thing that you seek, and I pray tha the Lord will search your heart, set you free of all fears, and use you for His Glory.
As far as your concerns: 1.) unholy friend and family are always going to be a concern. Pray for their salvation and for your protection. 2.) I don't think you need to worry about that. If you are born again, you have not rejected the Holy Spirit. 3.) You will just have to wait and see. Having the power of God moving through you is very different from having it move around you. Both are wonderful experiences.

Father, I pray that you would work signs, wonders and miracles in John's life. Search the heart of this one who seeks you and cleanse away anything that is not pleasing to you, replacing it with your will and your ways. He seeks the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and wishes to speak in tongues. I ask Lord that you would use John as a vessel, teaching them in all proper doctrines. Lead and guide into knowledge of all truth, manifest yourself in their life and bless them for their desire to draw close to you. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thanks, hope I get to be filled soon.

By the way, I'm an Evangelical and not a Pentacostal and I've rumors about your sect and am a bit confused and unsure.

These are the issues
1. Is it true that you don't believe in the Trinity wherein there is one God in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

2. Is it true that you all believe that a person who did not have speaking in tongues will not be saved?

I just want to know if i'm going to the right path or not

If I may echo Gabby's remarks, and as a question:

Why do you want to 'speak in tongues' over any of the other wonderful gifts God bestows?

Amen and Amen....

As a side note? like Alone asked...Why do u want to speak in tongues? over all the other wonderful gifts?.... Speaking in tongues is mearly 1 of the proofs of being filled with the Holy Spirit, not the only proof...

I am not presently associated with any denomination. I do believe in the Holy Trinity.
Speaking in tongues, or not speaking in tongues has nothing to do with salvation. It is a gift that manifest in the life of a believer, but is not a requirement in order to be saved. Salvation is based on your faith in Jesus Christ, and what He did on the cross for you. And nothing else.

The right path?

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The more willing you are to be used by God, the more God will use you. I pray that the Lord will minister all of the gifts through you, as needed.

Blessings.

If that's the case I've nothing to worry about.
I wanted to be filled, because I believe that Christians today need revelation from God, and a more better one.
If possible, two times the wisdom and righteousness of the twelve disciples that were before us long long ago.
We are closing the end times, that's another reason why revelation is needed by the people.
There are many cults today that claims themselves part of the Christian sect, but were actually people who practice talking to unclean spirits.
So I seek revelation. I want to seek the Way, the Truth, and the Life which is in Christ, that I may not be lost, for even a Christian can be lost from truth and practice wrong doctrines.

Why I wanted to have speaking in tongues?
I wanted speaking in tongues, not because I wanted to be sure of my salvation, for that would meant I lack faith in God. But rather, it is one of the special and rare gifts of the Holy Ghost. I also heard that it edifies the soul.

However...
I don't think that only speaking in tongues is the only evidence that one is filled. Gift of healing as well would do, but aside from this:
New found courage, simplicity of First Love, Being Guided by the Centerness of Faith in Christ, the fruits of the Spirit in its perfection all can give evidence that one is filled. Or in short, It doesn't really mean that if you don't have the more "special gifts" like healing and tongues, you are not filled. There are some people who don't have them, yet are able to save a thousand person in one preaching encounter. Some without the tongues, yet in praying was able to recieve everything he asked.

In fact...
I think that even if you have a gift of tongues, it might not necessarily mean that you are filled, for why would Apostle Paul be warning those with gift of tongues to use their gifts wisely in the letter to the Corinthians? If I am right that means even if you have the gifts, you might be able to use them unwisely and abusively.

By the way, I have gift of teaching , prophecy and writing, is it working in my writing above? Yet I don't think I am filled. See my point?

To Gabriel's Little Angel and those praying for me. Thank you for your prayers, please continue praying. I really wanted to have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And I felt quite selfish, but if God really had a plan of making me a person like that of Apostle Paul, I might and will eventually receive almost all of these gifts.

May God Bless you and Keep You

:-D Number one; This gift doesn't seem to be for today. It means talking in other languages......not babble and gibberish. You do not,[ according to the Nt], ask and plea for this gift...God gives various gifts to different people in different ways.Number two;Are you and all those that seek this gift[that doesn't exist today] forgetting that Paul very clearly states that not all believers will receive this gift.

Quit asking for something that only God decides ;If you aren't careful you'll receive a gift alright however it won't be from God.

fcs,
1Th 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

If there is one thing that the Word of God says it is this:
ASK

Gabby - when one asks, one better be sure it is for the right reasons.

I believe that God still bestows the 'sign gifts' today just as He did during biblical times - everytime the gospel was being presented to virgin ears and/or virgin terrorities that had not previsiously heard the gospel.

Hey, the worst thing that could happen is that God will strike ultrajet with a bolt of lightening for asking silly questions. I suppose I would get a cosmic hand slap for putting him up to it.

:-D

When you ask God for the wrong things, for all the wrong reasons, He corrects you. He teaches you. And He is thrilled that we come to Him with our questions first, rather than seeking answers from everywhere else but Him first.

If we ask for a fish, He will not give us a stone. He is a loving Father. He knows how to give good gifts to His children.

It is a shame when I see someone on fire for God, wanting as much of God as they can get and then see so many people who are all too eager to play a cosmic game of keep-away with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The world is full of people who have never heard the gospel. You would be amazed if God were to show you how many people that you associate with every single day who drive past churches, walk past the Bible shelf in the book store, and sit down next to Christians at work, yet they have never heard the gospel message.

fcs25,
I can understand why you are saying this, many pastors in the evangelical church, disagrees and felt threatened by the gift of tongues, they are unsure if it is of God or of the devil.

But if you did receive Christ as Lord and Savior, I don't think an evil spirit would enter you, for you are covered by the Blood of the Lamb. I could also understand why the evangelical pastors are afraid, I mean it had stopped for a long time, then suddenly .... you know what happened. Also many people who have this gifts today seems to be abusing this gift, by not using it wisely; thus, judgemental people would say it is not from God(just analyzing and assuming) but to tell you the truth, in a vastly persecuted country, gift of healing did existed, you can read journals from the Christians of China, Korea and other persecuted countries. Why would they have this gift? One, because God allowed it. But you can also say that maybe they are more faithful than us.

If God don't allow it, however, it would be okay, as long as I would be filled with the Holy Spirit, for what I seek is revelation to rally the people to Him that they may remember the First Love that made us who we are today and that they may be reoriented to the Centerness of Faith in Christ. So, I would want to be able to be equipped with every gift God would want to give me. Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

It should still exist today.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

Heb 2:4 God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by manifold powers, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.

I know that you cared for me, that's why your warning me. But I tell you this, beware of the Pharisees and the Scribes who judged Jesus of unclean spirit in the past.

Now, Am I afraid of this gift? Yes, I'm also afraid, but we can always "1Th 5:21 prove all things; hold fast that which is good;" We must not judge so easily, for we will be accountable to God when the time comes.

I know you are also afraid, but I'm inviting you to join me in my quest, that is to be filled by the Holy Ghost. It is okay to ignore the gift of tongues or whatever, but not the Giver. My issue here is not the gift of tongues, but rather, people need revelation.

By the way, I'm also evangelical.

God Bless you and keep you.

Forgive me - but do we not already have a complete revelation in the Scriptures?

In the context of this thread, it appears as if you are suggesting that because we own a Bible that we do not need the Holy Spirit. I know that can not even be close to what you are suggesting, so could you find a way to rephrase your question?

My question is related to the context of the post before it by ultrajet. Ultrajet says:

So again, I ask - do we not already have a complete revelation in the Scriptures?

I tend to appreciate the way the Lord can tell me how to react and respond in certain situations, how He reveals to me who to reach out to, what to pass by. He has, at times even revealed to me what not to eat or what not to drink. My life style is such that there are times when absolutely normal activity could become dangerous. The sort of thing that Scripture does not deal with.

There are wicked evil people who can be charming and transformed angels of light, as well as injured, desperate people who we might otherwise shun, if it were not for the Holy Spirit giving us revelation. The gifts are active, not just read about. In that light, Scripture is an instruction book.

Amen, Gabby. One question? Does the enemy understand praying in tongues? I think I know your answer.

May God bless, Golfjack

It goes right over his head. You can sit and talk to God for hours, with the Holy things whizzing right past him, and he just does not have a clue as to what you and God are up to.

I can't imagine an Army general not using some sort of coded language when transmitting information. Or a business man discussing company trade secrets in the presence of their competition. I love the idea that I can talk to God, knowing that I am laying all of my burdens on the alter, and even though I am speaking right into the enemy's microphone, and the enemy stays clueless. :-D

Gabbylittleangel - then I must have misunderstood the "revelation" that ultrajet was referring too. I was under the impression that he(she) believed that the gifts of tongues was need to provide revealation.

Hi aLone,

He, John. It appears to be a reference to:

1Cr 14:27 If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret.

Hi ultrajet,
I hope I don't offend you by asking, but is English a second language for you? (I believe I hear a bit of an island accent) Where do you live?
