if a soul is a fusion between body and spirit... and that fusion dies.... whats left ?

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here dust + breath/spirit from God = a living soul. When the flesh dies physically it returns back to the dust of the ground and our spirit is preserved with God for final judgment.

Genesis 3:19 in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ecc 12:7 then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We return to the dust of the ground when this physical body dies and our breath/spirit returns to God as we wait for Gods final judgment when Christ returns.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

This body/flesh dies and deteriorates as it turns back to dust while in the ground. The breath/spirit goes back to God who gave it, Ecc 12:7. The soul which makes up the conscious part of ones being is that of thought, action and emotion. The spiritual nature of man regarded as immortal and separable from the body/flesh at death and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state.

Without the spirit/breath from God our soul would not be alive as spirit and soul are connected, Genesis 2:7. When we physically die our soul, as the breath, goes back to God who gave it. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 speaks of the resurrection of the dead as those who have died that are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus as this is the first resurrection. We will not be raised from the grave in our old physical bodies, but will be raised with new Glorified bodies which we not know what we will look like, but will be like Christ, 1John 3:1-3.

can you say me it
The soul and spirit are eternal that live forever. The present body perishes. But with the Rapture, those who passed away will have new resurrection perfect bodies made of flesh and bone that live forever who believe in Christ. The other resurrection will be of those who did NOT believe come to the Great White Throne Judgement after the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ to be judged for their deeds. Those souls and spirits who never accepted Christ in God for salvation from sin in the past will be cast into the lake of fire in a body of total corruption.

Where in scripture does it say we will have bodies of flesh and bone as this is the only scripture I can find. Scripture also says that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, but that we will be changed,1 Corinthians 15:50.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

It does say that but I heard a Pastor talking about this before. (Reaching back)...I think it made a distinction between Flesh and Blood, and Flesh and Bone.

Jesus told them after He was resurected that they shouldn't be afraid because He is Flesh and Bone, touch me and see. I am not a Spirit. He had a body after He rose on the 3rd day.

Luke 24:37-39
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.../

So Jesus had a body. We will have a solid body like we do now when we get transformed in the twinkling of an eye, but maybe our new spiritual body has no need or use for Blood?

There could easily be something to this. Some places in scripture says flesh and blood, other places say flesh and bone. That means something.

I can agree with this, but will know in full when we are caught up to Christ and then it probably won't matter anymore what we will be like.

Of course it will matter! We will essentially be at the beginning of our eternity and everything will matter all over again!

I believe that earth and everything on it is a shadow of things to come. SOme say we'll be ethereal spirits and wont even eat. Ha! What do they think the Marriage supper is?! I don't buy iy that we'll sit on a cloud all day playing a harp, lol.

Our earthly food is nothing compared to the divine cusine that will be in heaven. Can you imagine what kind of pies that they make up there?! 😛

I think we can only speculate as all scripture says is that we will be like Christ and be as the angels when we are changed and caught up to Him. I'm not sure if anyone has a clear picture of what a new glorified body will look like or what we will be doing for eternity in the New Jerusalem until we are actually there. IMO, I don't even think we will have any memory of this present life on earth as all things will fade away and that could include earthly memories, but I don't know for sure.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isa 65:18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isa 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

I think there will be stores in the New Jerusalem too, lol.

Nobody does everything and needs willl be met, but the different wares of the different citizens will be offered in stores.

Something new for the house maybe? Something nice.

Don't even say it! No money in Heaven, the store will give it out of love and bless you with their work...and in turn, God sees them blessing His other children, so increases their Blessings from Him!

Sort of a Pay it Forward type of thing. I bless you, you bless somebody else, God Blesses us all because this is how it's 'sposed to work! That's feasible.

Genesis 2:7 says that God took dust from the ground formed the dust into a flesh and blood human body then blew the breath (spirit) of life into the flesh and blood human body and the flesh and blood human body became a living soul or living person.
So looks to me Genesis 2:7 is showing that before God blew the breath(spirit) of life into the flesh and blood human body no living soul or living person was in existence yet. So the breath(spirit) of life, separately, on it's own, without being in a flesh and blood human body isn't a living soul or living person.
So it looks to me this means when a human being dies, meaning that breath(spirit) of life leaves the human body, that living soul or living person ceases to exist.

Pulling a heart from a corpse and placing it in another human is because heart cells live on after death. So yes life still exist in the flesh after death.

Looks to me you're twisting what I said. I said when the breath(spirit) of life leaves the flesh and blood human body the flesh and blood human body ceases to exist as a living soul or living person.

But it doesn't cease to exist sometimes depends on if a person is a organ donor. And the past living person passes it to another living person thus the heart of the first flesh and blood become part of the next flesh and blood. Not the spirit but life in the flesh.

And I didn't change any of your own words.

When the breath(spirit) of life leaves the flesh and blood human body that flesh and blood human body ceases to exist as a living soul or living person. Just because you say the heart cells have life in them that doesn't mean that person that heart belonged to still exists as a living soul or living person. That's what I'm saying that our flesh and blood human bodies cease to exist as living souls or as a living person. The heart that belongs to a person and is being transplanted into another person doesn't have a living soul or living person living in that organ.
When we die we cease to exist as living souls or living person.

Yes I agree with that, yet life still exist in the human body for a while in the organs.

1 thes 5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The soul and spirit will not need a body , flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom, oh and the flesh will not rise, there's no reason for it to.

Yes I've always understood that, but people saying to me that a person's spirit is a living soul or living person that goes to God when a human being dies is incorrect. The spirit isn't some living person that goes to God and waits to be judged. When a person does he\she ceases to exist as a living person, that's death.
