What a wonderful world it would he if that were the case. Then to me life would be worth living for, but to me it’s not. I live because Jesus gives me life. Which again is not really a choice because I would be gone in a HEARTBEAT. If I was asked or given a chance to say goodbye to people, I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t even want to look back. Just get me out of here lol. And it’s not cause I don’t love people, but I know there would be no goodbyes in the end when everyone is resurrected. I still don’t know if we actually are in the third heaven, but we are under the altar

Revelation 6:9-10

9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

Not sure where under the altar is, I’m assuming it’s in the throne room?

maybe there'd be less suffering, but I don't know. Plenty of wretched Christians out there, sadly enough. Mean spirited people from all religions, too. I don't know what that's about, honestly.

Maybe if Christianity was more widely accepted, we could have stronger families, less social disintegration, etc., but...then again...before the Civil War, there were plenty of "Christians" using The Bible to support owning other human beings. Some people have used Scripture to justify the oppression of women.

So...I don't know. Jesus never called us to change the world, not really. Light unto a dark and dying world, yes. Salt unto the earth, absolutely. The big "change" Christians make is -in- each of us, and its not even our own doing...its the gradual process of being conformed unto the image of Christ Jesus, so He can reach others thru us. "die to self daily," etc.

Interesting question. Oh, and...welcome to CFnet, btw. :)

Unfortunately, Yes. Believing in Jesus does not change the world, just your perceptions of happenings.

But He DID call us to be the preachers who take people the news of the power of the life-changing gospel.

Both the believing in Him and also the suffering for His sake (to varying percentages of His) has been granted to the elect:

Because to you was granted the thing for Christ’s sake— not only the believing in Him, but also the suffering for His sake, having the same struggle such as you saw in me and now are hearing to be in me.
Philippians 1:29-30 - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=Philippians 1:29-30&version=DLNT

CE this power of the gospel to change people is the one thing Christian Reconstructionists (Dominionists) believe, that I overwhelmingly agree with. Most Christians don't. They feel that the power of Satan has already defeated Jesus in this world, and that until He comes back, kicking butt, He has no really effective power here and now.

Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Life is worth living for if the joy of the Lord is your strength while here on earth as our song should be the joy of the Lord as we praise His Holy name for all He is in us. Our joy is also on our lips and in our hearts as we witness and testify to others of His mercy and grace. To leave this earth without a witness of Him is a sad thing as I believe life is what we make it here on earth no matter what the trials and tribulations might be in our life. Acts 16:25-40.

No, there would be no more suffering as all would be like that from the begining in the garden of Eden before man was deceived. No sickness, no sorrow

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

To me suffering is to establish growth in us; even all Christians have not come to the perfect will of God for their lives.

I’ve sure used this following scripture the last few days, but even Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. Now Jesus being creator knew all things, but the knowledge that comes from experience proves us if I’m saying it right.

And then there is the compensation of reward through suffering as we read:
1Pe 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2
