Insane Panic Buying.

Um no. I meant that some food items were unavailable, but others were. I didn't shop for anything other than food. They said it would arrive Saturday.
awesome - i like them better than amazon - it seems like their prices are better and their delivery seems to be too - they also treat their employees better than amazon does

The panic buying is ridiculous. Do people not know we grow and sell food here, there is no shortage nor will there be. The food will still be flowing. What do you like, beef, lamb, pork, fish, chicken, apples, avocados, oranges, peas, beens, eggs, milk, butter, whatever you like the list goes on.

It's just dumb, they keep having to restock the shelves because people are being greedy in fear.

Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

See, we have always had these types of things each time brings out the beginning of sorrows. As a true child of God we need not fear, but to trust God in every area of our life that He will supply our need during the times of pandemics.

There are approximately 5400 where I live and even though none have been effected with this virus they are going nuts in stocking up with paper products, guns, ammo and even alcohol beverages in fear that everyone will be quarantined.

Schools and colleges closed. Businesses are forced by the government to shut down with mega amounts of people being out of work and losing a paycheck they count on as many live paycheck to paycheck like we do. Shut down for what, two weeks, but yet no one is sick here. Many food places are shut down if they do not have a drive thru, but yet only if you are in a vehicle will you be served at the window as no one is allowed to just walk up and place an order. Are you not face to face at the window in a vehicle, plus the exchanging of money with each other just as in the grocery store!

This just shows how many will bow down and take the mark of the beast in the end of days as it's all being controlled by the government, IMO. I refuse to walk in fear and I will continue to enjoy life outside my door.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself - Franklin D. Roosevelt First Inaugural Address

Plus no NASCAR until May...................?

it's fear - people are really scared and trying to make sure they will be ok if things go south - and in the process they make stupid decisions

i feel sorry for them - their stress levels must be through the roof

there may also be scalpers who are stocking up to gouge people later - won't they be surprised when doomsday never comes?

There are already scalpers out in the streets selling toilet paper and are being arrested for it.

good news that they are being arrested - thanks

So its illegal when there is a high demand to freely buy and then sell a product where both the buyer and seller agree on a price?. Wow. I'm sure all successful businesses and corporations sell high demand products and services.

That would be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard, people being arrested for selling toilet paper.

They probably only getting arrested for not paying taxes on there trade and not being a registed business as it would be classed as a running business.

here is the law and the reason for the law https://www.texasattorneygeneral.go...gency-scams/how-spot-and-report-price-gouging

Cause and demand creates greed. What others hoard causes those like the elderly to do without. We have a grocery store here that has put together care bags that include toilet paper, bread and a few other food items for 4.99 as you can buy one and they donate it to Loving Hands in our local town. All grocery stores should be doing this.

Suppply,and demand ?
If gas was .0001 per gallon ,and bottled water and I speak from experience as every storm that is inbound this happens.

Lines at the gas station, water bottles out .the guard with fema brings ressupploes for you and heads into the impact as it comes in or waits one day ,moves when safe .

People hoard gas and water .you, don't need to go crazy ,you can clean your tub ,reuse milk jugs, coolers etc.gas ,10 gallons plus top off your car,if you have a standing full size 16kwh or more generator ,that tank will be filled by,the company, you pay to maintain it ,and again you don't need it unless its medically needed to run your a.c. all the time.

I went through 10 gallons in one week but never had a problem getting gas after two days

Ah yes ,where by I can buy 200 gallons of gas cheap to run my generator 24 7 after a hurricane ,despite within days a few gas stations will be open and stores, seen this several times within 5 years.

Water was also treated the same .

The lumber yard where my husband works is now on a mandated shut down for two weeks and then everything will turn back to normal again. All the stores here have limited all paper products to one only which is a good thing even though the shelves are empty, but new stock continues to be brought in.

People just be crazy. If your sick stay your butt at home and let others shop for you.

walmart has exclusive hours for seniors - the first hours of the day so that seniors get taken care of first

then the store opens to everyone else

"From March 24 through April 28, Walmart's 5,000-plus U.S. stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers 60 and older, which will start one hour before stores open. "

I just got back from shopping when the store first opened...

There were of course panic buyers in there as well as normals like us who just wanted supplies without having to go out multiple times.

Of course there wasn't any toilet paper or paper towels.

But what got me was those panic buyers were nuts...6 jumbo packs of boneless chicken breasts? Why?

They weren't even on sale.

Dollar General's are doing that too. It's time like these that neighbor needs to be reaching out to neighbor. What little I might have to share might be greater to someone who has nothing.

Many of us live paycheck to paycheck and can not afford to stock pile especially when one has to go on unemployment like we are going to have to for whatever duration this will be. If I were to afford to stock pile it would be for helping others that have not.
