Is Corporate Worship Important or Necessary?

Re: What is your church like?

Forums are not churches, and neither should they be. They are places for fellowship, but that is only a small part of what a church is.

Agree completely. And thank God for that.

We can actually speak our mind here without the peer pressure.

Re: What is your church like?

Yeah, and take the troublesome problem with them to the unsuspecting leadership there.

I guess thats when the unsuspecting 'leadership' needs to be replaced with one who is conditioned with the correct 'vision' for the church right?

Re: What is your church like?

thanks alabaster. this forum is a great thing but i have never seen such argumentive spirits in my church nor would we argue like we do here at our respective churches.

i dont and the pastor knows that i dont agree with him on some things.

but i come there to here the word not debate the word and i admit i may be off and i will add that when i move from church i have found that something is wrong with me not the other way around.

Of course because its much more difficult and awkward to speak you're mind when you're face to face with someone than here on the boards.

So whats better? Speaking youre mind or staying silent on issues you disagree on?

Pop quiz.

Re: What is your church like?

That is uninteresting observation about church leaders as an authority.

In my experience at churches they have always spoke of themselves as servants of the church that try to do their paid or voluntary jobs using their giftings. some of them seem to give way more than they receive.

EXACTLY!

Great and wise men in you're community are supposed to SERVE you NOT RULE OVER YOU!

20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes
of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great
exercise authority upon them.

20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great
among you, let him be your minister;

20:27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to
minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

when we recieve the kindness and the example we should pass it on to others.

well look to the bible for that? did paul always dispute the church daily. no! he corrected them when they erred but you cant learn if you are always debating. theres a place for that its called talking to an elder in private. as you see the begginer christain needs to be shown the basics first. theres much more to the bible then merely reading it.
theres digging into one verse at a time.(churchs do this)

ie one day week class with an hour class one verse and the persons are allowed to show what they learned.

that is very time consuming as you must only read that verse and ponder it. its known as precept by precept and verse by verse. if you do that type of word study you will be a power house christian in the word.

btw just so you know my calling when i post responses here seldom do i pray the verse i recall are from memory and that is my calling or gift.

i dont have to try to memorise the bible just by reading it several times i will recall generally the thought or where it is in the bible.

that is my thing.the Holy spirit will bring things up that i was already taught. that doesnt mean i have it right but you get the idea.

Re: What is your church like?

What is your church like? Does one BELIEVE CHRIST IS THE REAL QUESTION! Rev. 17:1-5 Present Time PERIOD!!

First & formost would be Christ as seen in Josh. 7:12's last part of the verse, being there! & then Psalms 77:13's Copy of Doctrinal teachings. If that is not so?? then, never would 'i' be in a church worship service as a CAPTIVE attender! Rev. 18:4

OK: This is me. Most church's have a two part service. Above is the service that I will not attend as discribed. Now, the Bible lesson study is another service which 'some' mature ones could attend if it is a study & not a preacher forced home captive type satan one. Most study classes are not so if you can be tactful? But yes, even then, you will be as Matt. 10:23-26 documents in time! So why are you there in the first place?? ibide. 5-6 tel's you the reason, & verse 15 tel's one the outcome.

Re: What is your church like?

in order to lead one must follow.

What do you mean by 'lead'?

Lead by example?

If so, who do we need to follow in order to be able to lead?

Pastor McHuman or Jesus Christ?

Re: What is your church like?

And what are we doing? Correcting brethren when they err too.

If you dont learn by debating then how do you learn Jas? By just doing whatever your pastor says without question?

theres a place for that its called talking to an elder in private. as you see the begginer christain needs to be shown the basics first. theres much more to the bible then merely reading it.

The basics? I wasn't shown anything when I was a beginner Christian. I just read the Gospels. It's all really straight forward as far as I'm concerned. Even an 8 year old can understand what being a Christian is about. Love. The Gospels teach the basics pefectly.

theres digging into one verse at a time.(churchs do this)

And forums don't?

Uhm....ok....that must be real nice for you.......?.......?......?

Re: What is your church like?

no they dont. as in a real bible study no athiests allowed to comment! and also no fighting like we do is gonna happen. if you dont agree or disagree peacebaly then you dont go!

i dont see a verse by verse at all.
in fact none actually do it as that is like this

genesis 1:1 read it memorise(forgot to mention the bible is also memorised) and then meditate Daily come back and share! now then do we do that here

and like bob carrabo says we really dont know who is fake or real here. In church you are more able to see them live as you in time get to you know then in PERSON, unlike here with alias and avatars and only posting what you want others to know about you.

doc your legal name isnt strangelove now is it nor is that avatar really you

and uh now theres more to just reading the bible, you also must do it and someone must teach you!

what did paul say
be ye therefore imators of me and as I imatate christ

whats that mean do you? it means as he lives and does the the word of God and also what set examples

its called lively stones and his workmanship. now then how can see ever see your fruits as you dont tell me what the things you do are wrong and so on.

how can i mentor you if you dont share it?

and what if you loose the internet permanetly of for a while what then doc?

if i leave this site i still have my church and can easily do the same thing i have done.

i have done what i do hear in person to build others up in the faith when they werent aware of what the toe is or what islam is or etc.

i have a friend who i do communicate too alot and even talk to her from this site and she even admits that we cant be fully aware of what goes on since we live 1000's of miles apart.

yes that does work but its no substute for the closeness in the local body.

do you need help with sin? what do you struggle with?

did you ever think that in the ct@a some post fake questions in there just to arouse a stir. its has been done before as a mod i see it. in fact just today i banned a muslim user for promotion of islam.

so then you dont think that some athiest who hates the lord and knows the bible couldnt come on here and do damage since we dont know who's real or not. yes there are very sincere persons here.

but its takes some huevos to do that to people face to face. and i have seen it done at a weekly bible study where one guy wanted to argue the verses and uses legalism to get his idea pushed and yet when you commented on you already doing that he would then change it and twist it.

in fact he asked to leave, people stopped going over him. i had to take all my strength not to tell him off as i saw it and even said it outloud"dude you just contradicted yourself"

a church should function harmonously.

in the A@T forum and the end times that is seldom happening with the bible study topics everyone likes to win.
is the that manner we should have church?

since pastors know that will happen they dont let it happen but i do think and would like if some would allow some questioning.

but truth be told no man will be perfect in theology especially end times. not me not you.
will it really matter to our souls if we are doing what the Lord told us? nope.

i have gotten into some heated debates with my friend and told her that we should avoid that. as i didnt like my anger of wanting to win. see mikes avatar.

i dont want that in my church i have enough of that at my home as my wife likes the occult. and i also come here. now i do learn here but. one must have a safety net.

theres so much more to the real church then here.

yes this site is useful but it is not replacement for the real thing

this site has helped me with apolegetic and the diver views of endtimes but that being said. one doenst need to be here to be good at apologetics theres schools for that.

the centuriion program is one and ravi zacharias is one.

seldom have i ever felt the presence of god while on this forum. yes i can tell who is going to church and discern things but when i enter the sancturary of my church with the praises going up that is what i need as i feel him there and i can if i want to praise him and he will lift my burdens(and i need to that more often).

I don't want you to be my mentor.

I have a very wise mentor and I talk to her every single day thanks.

I'll write letters if the net goes down. And if thats not possible then I have Christ and the Word of God. No drama.

What happens if you lose your church?

Re: What is your church like?

When a person has a problem with his church, and you're "for" the person, you say that he is trying to solve a problem and they won't let him. If you're against him, you say that he demands that everything be his own way.

A neutral viewpoint is that the leadership wanted to go in one direction and he didn't. If it can't be worked out, he needs to leave quietly.

lol. do you think that i havent been there? uh afghanistan i then started a small group but the point being you cant learn online only you have to go where others are and learn from them. and trust me its much better when i had lord raised these persons up

and he called pastors over these peoples if you doubt kindly look at revalation one to 4 and what the lord would do wit the pastors? and or church?

and what of the five fold ministry?
that cant be done online? the apostle, pastor, prophet, evangelist.

those when in use are way different.

i would work closely as a prophet when i would be used like that as will take scripture and make it point people out and call men to repent.

and evangelist doest something similiar but he or she would preach with exhortation to reach the lost and aslo exhort the lost to repent with out nailing a sin that the prophet would do.

the pastor can teach and lead the flock.

and doesnt your wife not speak in your language? you english and she vietnamese?

and uh what if you are the problem or she is and you are at a deadlock? whom they shall you go to?

This makes no sense, and borders on sedition.

Re: What is your church like?

alabaster he isnt aware that to be ordained by God is done by fasting and prayer and that a true man of God doesnt run to the pulpit but from the PULPIT. and God crushes them to the point that they must return to do his will,
ie jonah and the big fish style.

that burden is so great that you have to lay all that your dreams aside to be that pastor. and your flesh cries out NOOOOOO!and you run even leave town or family.

that calling is way out long before you actually perform it

and to a degree that is in within me as i have calling to teach the word.
